The food here is overall just really good. Portions are large, prices are reasonable, staff members are friendly, and they had a local musician playing the night we stopped by. We ordered a calzone and pizza to share. With both entree, you can tell that they make their own dough. I hate eating pizza crust, but it was that good where I devoured the crusts. Especially if you are staying at the lodge next door (which we did), save yourself the hassle of searching for a food spot. Just walk over and be ready to eat. read more

The wife and I were coming off of a couple days of skiing and were traveling from Keystone, Colorado back to Denver. We decided to stop off at one of those cute little villages you see off the side of the road. Georgetown, Colorado is a beautiful little mountain village. We pulled off the highway and really enjoyed driving through the town. After seeing the Alpine Restaurant and bar, we decided it was perfect. According to their menu, "The Alpine Restaurant and Bar is located in the original Georgetown train depot built in 1877. This site soon became the center of a bustling freight and passenger business, transporting silver from Silver plume to Idaho Springs". Silver Plume and Idaho Springs are still there today and are also cute little mountain villages off I70. You will see them on the way to or from Ski resorts, such as Vail and Keystone to Denver. Inside, lots of the original interior is the same. Several artifacts from the day remain and they have some cool pictures hanging too of a simpler time. I had the pasta fa zul (Pasta with beans) which was billed as the soup of the day. It was a soup that featured pasta and beans but also had large chunks of other vegetables in it. It was delicious! My wife and I split the "Tree Hugger pizza", which included: Mushrooms, Red Onions, Spinach, Oven Roasted Tomatoes, Roasted Garlic, Black Olives and Mozzarella. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were very fresh. Our server was SUPER friendly and took great care of us. Even told us a little about the train station turned restaurant. Great place! When I-70 shut down they stayed open late and even called in some staff to help stranded motorists. We were sat almost immediately and I had an amazing calzone. I will definitely be stopping by here again in the future. read more

Great little restaurant. We stopped in for lunch and I had the pizza. Very good. Thin, flakey, crispy crust. I ate the entire 12" to myself. We also shared a couple pieces of the the homemade cheesecake. Oh so good. Friendly staff, not the fastest but we weren't in a hurry so no big deal. read more

Been here a few times on my mountain excursions and have always been please. Today i stopped in with my wife, kids, and in laws for a late (1:30) saturday lunch after visiting mt bierstadt. The restaurant was mostly empty, but take out was steady. We were seated within 30 seconds by a courteous hostess. Drinks stayed full and service was consistent and polit. The order took a little longer than normal because they had an order of 30 pizzas for a construction crew. Our group of 4 adults and 2 kids shared a large greek salad and two 12" pizzas. We had no leftovers, but all left filled and satified. The pizzas were crispy but not burned and toppings were fresh and of a moderate quantity. This is one of my favorite pies around Colorado. The greek salad was fresh and loaded with olives, feta, artichoke and more and had a nice tangy dressing. Great food. The drink options are good, minus the iced tea, which is nasty nestea. They have coke products, a delection of hot teas, and cheap drafts. $3 fat tire and $1 PBR during happy hour. Give it a shot. read more

Beware if you come here searching for gluten free. The website advertises gluten free pizza and pasta on the menu, however they only offer the pizza, and when I visited on a Wednesday (a day I assume would have less traffic) they were out of gluten free crusts. Salad was the only option. This place can keep their +20 dollar salads. You're better off on 6th street in the historic district where all the other shops, cafes and restaurants are. My wife and I stopped by for lunch on a weekend. The Alpine is located in what was the old railroad depot in Georgetown. This is an unpretentious and comfortable little place that looks like it serves more locals than tourists. The menu is overwhelmingly Italian, with pizzas, calzones, paninis and subs making up most of the menu. They do also have salads and wraps. They also have an extensive alcoholic beverage menu if that's your thing. My wife and I were seated at a comfortable, well upholstered booth. The service was efficient without being obtrusive. My wife and I ordered a small Greek salad and a 12 inch pizza (the Zeus) to share. The salad was marvelous. A generous serving or Romaine lettuce with olives, artichoke hearts and feta cheese. The Greek dressing (homemade) was wonderful! When our pizza arrived, it looked delicious, and it was. The crust is thin and very nice, like a brick oven crust. The sauce was tart and tangy with a great tomato flavor. The toppings worked well together. All-in-all, a great pizza, and just enough got two. Afterwards we asked about the desserts. All made in house we were informed. We got the flourless chocolate cake. It was not the best I've ever had, but it was good. It was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which balanced the chocolate taste of the cake. The soft drinks come in bottles and cans, and they are a bit pricey at $3-3.50 each, but otherwise the prices were quite reasonable. If you are in Georgetown and you are looking for a relaxed place to eat some better than expected pizza, check out the Alpine. read more

I can't recommend this place highly enough. EAT HERE. The meatball sliders are not to be missed, so delicious. The pizza was good, we had the Tree Hugger. Better than all of the food and atmosphere is the service! The staff is so accommodating and pleasant. We stopped by driving from Denver to Aspen and the experience was so great, we stopped on our way back too. Big thumbs up! read more

If you have a child with autism or sensory issues don't come here. The manager or owner whom ever she was (apparently the waiter didn't know which one was the owner) has low tolerance for children that have a disability. My child who has sensory issues and receives therapy for and mind you shes only 2 yrs old had freaked out 1 time. Since she had screamed that one time she came over to us. At that point she wasn't even screaming, and said that people had complained. She then basically was saying I would have to leave if it happened again. So if this has ever happened with your child probably best not to go! read more

We really like the food here, but the service is really lacking. On multiple occasions we have called to place a pick up order and the line is dead. We went there once to place a to go order and they purposely had the phone off the line, I understand if it's busy, but it was not busy at all. read more

Used to be a local favorite but food and service are in the tank. The owners don't care and it shows. If no locals are in the restaurant take the hint. We used to come here twice a week, but after it was sold the food suffered. We stopped ordering but wanted to give the place another shot since we heard the new owners had gotten more involved. Tonight our Stromboli's took 40 minutes to come, we can live with that. But after dropping off our food our server told us to come in and pay when we were ready. At a full service restaurant. So we came in to pay 30 minutes after our food was delivered- I was told to wait so I did. Ten minutes later I gave up and then my wife went in. Five minutes later and still no check or box. I go back in there's no acknowledgment at all. Finally the waiter reminds me I was "told" to come in to pay when I was done. She told me to speak to the owner who simply claimed they were "busy." They weren't busy. They weren't half as busy as it used to be with the old owners. read more
