So, this place shows up as permanently closed now. It was obviously not when we visited in Aug but we could see ongoing issues with service. First, they didn't have enough staff. We were seated by a 9-10 year old boy who was obviously family and helping out. They are run out of their more popular items (we arrived around 6:30 pm on a Friday night), which says a lot about workings of the restaurant. We ordered a couple of pizzas and a salad. The food took quite a bit of time. The pizzas were fine but they had more crust than toppings. The salad was ok. Given how popular this restaurant used to be, and how long it has been open, I do wish that they reopen but they have to work on their menu extensively.. read more

This historic building was a great stop on our way from Denver to Breckenridge. We had no real idea of what to expect it came in after reading other reviews. We started with jalapeño poppers which were crisp and flavorful. It came with a side of ranch dressing that was standard flavor. My pizza came out piping hot. I really enjoyed the cheese and spice of the jalapeño peppers. The black olives were plentiful but oddly placed. Some slices were covered. Overall I loved it. The crust had a nice chew and texture. There happened to be live music playing when we came in. The guy played a few Grateful Dead songs I liked. Oddly they were out of several dishes, one of which I was going to order. OMG this was a bad experience. I wish i could say otherwise, but unfortunately that was just not the case. They were one of the 2 places we found open on a weds night which is why we chose this location otherwise we were eye-ing coopers. Sadly they were closed on weds. so here we are We had looked at online menu beforehand and thought it would be okay for us given the various needs in our group. We started our experience with young boys hosting. They were cute and they did a good job. They obviously were taking their job seriously. The ambiance was okay. It did not appear that busy in the restaurant but the lady upfront was having a fit in front of customers about how busy it was. The young gal took our orders she did her best. Some things that are listed in online menu from their website are not actually available in house. Such as hummus. So if you are vegan, vegetarian well there are not really any protein options for you. We were brought water but no one offered us any refills we had to go find a pitcher and fill our own glasses with refills. Out of 6 people. only 1 got exactly what they ordered. For my personal order i had ordered a greek salad with the dressing on the side and also cheese on side with extra beans. They gave me like 10 beans....... I had told the girl i wanted to add the beans as a source of protein because they didn't have any hummus. She said no problem, but i would not call 10 beans much of anything.... why bother?? The dressing came out ON The salad and they did not put the olives on my salad which i was looking forward to. Another gal had 2 things on her ticket that she did not order. Another gal had ordered a salad with chicken. the waitress rang it wrong. Should not be a big deal but it turned into an ordeal. The waitress did not want to bring out a plate with just chopped chicken for the salad. She said she could not ring that up. okay well it was not my friends fault you rang it wrong or wrote it down wrong. This is a problem that should have been apologetically fixed. But instead we had to brainstorm ways for them to fix this so my friend could get the needed protein. Another friend ordered a salad that needed spinach. We knew they were out but we thought they would replace it with the other kind of lettuce. They did not! Instead she paid $15 for a tiny bowl of lettuce. She had also asked for beans and got only 5 beans. She counted them. No dressing! And no other vegetables on her salad???! It was literally just a small bowl of lettuce. UGH! Another gals salad got messed up as well and she got the wrong dressing. One lucky person got their order correct. For gluten free folks, the fries are not gluten free. They are coated with flour. Just so you know. With as many things were wrong on our order as a collective whole I would have a hard time trusting them with gluten free anything....... It was so bad all we could do was laugh. This is the worst place ever!!! Please don't eat here. They charge $3.5 per cup of soft drinks, and $2 for this little cup of sauce. And 12 piece of wings for $21. The customer service is a joke. They are running out of everything and they did not tell me until they brought the food to us. And we were sitting down for 30 plus mins before the food showed up! Based on all the good reviews we definitely hope this was a one off experience. We came here to kill some time during traffic back to Denver and the experience was just okay. We got wings and a small Italiano pizza. The wings were cold at the bone which was concerning so we barely ate them. The pizza was fine but not great, ingredients were not the best and was like a sloppy mess. The wait staff pretty much stopped by once to take our order and then completely disappeared to the point where there was no one on the floor for like 10 min straight. Cozy spot with great comfort food in Georgetown! After a day skiing at Loveland, my husband and I headed into Georgetown where we of course stopped by Guanella Pass Brewing (always happy to shout them out!) before grabbing dinner at The Alpine Restaurant & Bar. Service was unfortunately slow due to minimal people working, but we were eventually served and so happy with our meal! We ordered the spinach artichoke dip and a calzone with artichokes, roasted tomatoes, feta, and sausage. We also had some wine to go along with our meal. 10/10 recommend it all. Really solid food. Pretty standard American pizza/pasta/pub food menu, but everything we tasted was good. Not like, your favorite restaurant in the world amazing, but really solid. We've stopped into the Alpine Restaurant a few times and always enjoyed their home town hospitality. This time was no different. The Alpine can make a mad pizza. Several mad pizzas - and when I say mad pizza, I mean delicious. We shared their South of the Border and their Narrow Gauge. Both fabulous. Fresh ingredients, flavorful crust, generous toppings. Didn't explore much on the inside, as with loud live music (totally subjective), we opted to eat outside. But kinda alpine-looking decor looked ok. As many noted before, there are little helpers there, three boys. I have mixed feelings on that. On one hand, it's super cute until you realize it seems it's more of a job than help. I don't know enough to comment further, I've been in the place once. Child labor is banned for a reason, so I really, really hope this is purely occasional play. Now to food. Don't come in expecting the best meal in your life, but it's very solid, homemade food. It's like visiting your family, the meal might not be at the restaurant level, but you end up very happy ;) We tried spaghetti meatballs with a side of Caesar's and gluten free pizza. We were very satisfied with both. The pizza is the standard GF one that's not the greatest but, again, solid - thin, kinda crispy, which I expected (not sure, but I suspect many places buy the same brand). We had a great lunch! I had a calzone that was really delicious and not heavy on the bread like most places-lots of filling/cheese and they had a lot of variety to pick from. My dad enjoyed his salad and it looked great and my son had a kids pizza with fries that I would've been happy to have myself. A local gallery recommended this place. A little boy was our host and we were seated at the bar, as requested. Our order changed a lot due to items not being available including COORS LIGHT (in Colorado!). Also jalapeno poppers were not avabile. Bartender/manager said they were getting ready to close for two weeks and that's why they were low on items. We ordered wings which took at least 30 minutes (and we were on a time crunch to get to the train). The bartender then disappeared for at least 15 minutes. We told the little boy/host that we'd like another glass of wine. Once the bartender showed up and wanted to serve us our wine, we needed to get our wings to go and our bill. I was visiting friends in Georgetown CO and after taking the Georgetown Loop Railroad I looked for a good place to eat lunch on TripAdvisor. The Alpine Restaurant and Bar came up as a recommendation. I alway try and order something that is a pain in the a$$ to make at home so I ordered the calzone. I very much enjoyed it. Crust was nice, not stodgy, very generous with the filling. There are many gluten free and veggie/vegan selections as well. Luckily I can eat anything so I enjoyed pretty much a meat lovers calzone. The service was great; however the place could use a facelift with regards to the furnishings. My booth seat was held together with duct tape. But don't let that stop you! read more

Not sure what changed here but the order I placed last night was for a 16 inch pizza with extra cheese and and a salad. Total came to $42. Somehow the pizza that is $21 on their menu ended up costing $10 more with extra cheese? Salad was $11. So I paid $50 with tip. I get home and the pizza measured barely 14 inches and 2 of those inches is crust. It was good pizza but I felt totally ripped off. This was giving the place a second try after a recent not so great experience made me wonder what happened to my previously favorite pizza spot in Clear creek county. I think ownership has changed. My review certainly has. If I want a small pizza and salad for $50 I can go to beau jos, it's actually a lot closer to home. read more

Very disappointed. This place looked really good online, and we decided to stop by after a hike. We were a party of 7, and I was the only one who needed allergy/food accommodations. I asked the young girl who was the waitress if they could make me just a few chicken breats for me as all I'm eating is meat. She looked at me with a blank stare and said, "I don't know." So I got up to go ask someone else. I found an older waitress and explained to her that I just wanted chicken. She said I could order a salad with chicken. I told her again I'm only eating meat. She then rudely says, "You can order just chicken breast with your waitress." I go back to the table order from my waitress, chicken. She asks if I want a small or large bowl. I said large, expecting it to be a fair amount of chicken coming. What came out was very upsetting. A single chicken breast, the size of a phone was brought out to me, and they had the audacity to charge $6 for it. I thought they would have been more willing to accommodate since they had gluten-free options. But! They were out of the gluten-free options when I went this past Saturday. read more

Stopped here today on my way back from Leadville for a pizza, wings and beer! Fantastic food and excellent service every time. We got the Spicy Pig pizza, sriracha and lime wings, and some delightfully sour beers. The crust on the pizza is excellent and made in-house and the chicken wings seemed like very high quality meat. This place is great. The staff are all very patient and kind and it has a very local feel. The food is great, and they have quick service. They have a lot of different types of pizza and other food, but there is also a bar. They play some pretty good music on the speakers, leaving a nice background ambience. When we were finally seated they were out of the 1st two menu items I asked for. Then when we finally got our order, they brought the wrong entree for me and didn't really seem to be interested in correcting it. We were starving so we ate the chicken Alfredo and the chicken Parmesan. The chicken Alfredo tasted good but we were thrown off by the runny yet goopy texture. Went here because it was the closest restarant to the lodge we stayed at for the night. Spent the day Christmas shopping and wandering this cute little town, We were starving so ordered from this quite crowded restaurant and bar. A sweet, very polite little boy manned the front check in station. He told us that any food ordered would take about 35 minutes - no problem. We ordered and went backto our room at the lodge. When we picked up the Strombolis we ordered we were very pleasantly surprised- best ever ! Next time we go exploring the mountain towns we will make sure to come back to the Alpine Restaurant. read more

Ever heard of smoked jalapeño poppers? Well this "made from scratch" quaint, little, hidden gem has that! Ok, so your looking for something unique, out of way and away from tourists? Wanna look cool with your friend? This is your spot. Nice cocktail list, good wines on menu, good beer selection, but the food...is the best! Those poppers BTW were awesome! So unique , so tasty, and they are big (but only three per order...HEY! they take 6 hours to cook!) Their meatballs are made in house and ive had them before but this is my first review. They are spectacular! So good! My two favorite apps. The service was great too, very attentive and polite. Kitchen is close by so its hard to get it wrong. Zero stars. Stopped by on Sunday evening around 6:00p. According to their hours on Apple Maps and on their website they are open until 9:00p on Sun. Google maps, and Yelp, say 7:00p. I don't remember what their door said but I think it was 7:00p. Looks like they haven't been open today or they closed early. Their phone number is out of service, so, given all the negative reviews recently, I had guessed they had gone out of business. But someone at another restaurant said they were still open and should be open today, so ??? Maybe they should close until they fix some basic things such as correct hours and a working phone. read more
