Get the crab bisque. When we went, it held weight with some of the better tastings I've had in Maryland. Service was efficient and friendly. Our server was great with recommendations when we were split between the soup and the stuffed shrimp or crab options. Both of his recommendations were great. This local place with its family feel is a great place to go an eat. The service is great an the food has that yummy comfort feel. They have a wide selection of food to choose from an great specials for lunch an dinner. The portions are just the right amount an the prices are good. Anchor has a great view of the ocean to make it even better. They have planet of seating so no worry about being cramped. An it's always very clean. It's right in the heart of town so you can eat an then go walk the local shops or even get an ice cream at the waffle cone. I have had several entrées and appetizers an they are all very good. Tuesday's the special for the fish which is very good. Most locals eat here so you k ow your in good company an the food is great. So stop by an have a bite to eat you won't regret it. read more

We found this gem of a restaurant on a date night. We were disappointed to go to one of our favorite places in the area that had gone down in service and food choices. With a little research on Yelp, we found The Anchor just down the street. We were pleasantly surprised at the fresh food here and had great service from Natasha. We had the smoked salmon dip with house made chips, surf n turf, and coconut shrimp. We also had two fabulous cocktails featuring summer berries. Thanks for a fabulous evening! After researching places to eat and specifically wanting crab legs, we decided to try The Anchor. We got there and were told they were out of crab legs, and also oysters. We decided to stay and try other things. The stuffed flounder was just so-so. Lobster was a little underdone and underwhelming. Vegetables tasteless and way too hard. Yes! This place is so good. Relaxed, very casual with a friendly, welcoming staff! Full bar. Expressing Martini was a perfect pick me up after being in the sun all day. We enjoyed mussels, Oysters and peel and eat shrimp off the appetizer menu and it was more then enough. Our friends enjoyed a stuffed flounder and a Pasta dish with mussels and they said it was "great!". Definitely making this a must go back every time we visit Flagler! We were so hungry we ate it before I could get pictures my spouse had scallops that were cooked perfectly and seasoned to a taste that was so delicious. My entree was Haddock. I chose the $2 cracker crumb topping which was not seasoned, they were so dry and did not taste good. The haddock was very good, but the topping was not, I scraped it off. The spinach side and broccoli were delicious. You have to ask for broccoli soft (which I usually do). The waitress said they usually cook them minimally. The service was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. A friend at the table had the combo seafood with a couple of scallops, lobster tail, shrimp etc. and she said everything was delicious. That platter was almost $40, the haddock $22 and the 6 scallop dinner $32. All entrees come with two sides or a side and salad. Nice place for seafood. read more

We visit this spot whenever we pass through the area. Their bloody Mary's are legendary. Lots of fresh seafood options, and the servers are great. One day they were having a special event and had a sign on the door that the dining room was closed... they must have seen our sad faces, because they let come in and sit at the bar! We came for our anniversary. It was buzzing but got greeted and seated quickly. Our waitress Laura had a great personality and very informative. Good draft beer selection. Lemon drop shots are easily messed up but were perfect here. Fresh shuck to order oysters- Yum! Onion rings and cole slaw, all good. Our waitress was so kind to surprise us at the end with a complimentary key lime pie, which was amazing. We had such a great time we came back 2 days later instead of our next dinner place :) Nice walk right across the street along the beach afterwards. This is our new go to spot! I just recently moved here from Tennessee so I'm in search of great seafood restaurants. I got an Anchor recommendation from a local - but she only gets lobster - but I thought I'd give it a try. I love crab bisque so had to get a cup - very disappointing - it was like slightly thinner white gravy. There were no flavors that jumped out. I tried the seafood pot pie and a side of sautéed spinach. The "pie" was basically the crab bisque with potatoes, carrots, 2 shrimp, 1 scallop and some whitefish with a pastry puff on top - did not wow me. The spinach was fresh but the excess salt killed any other spices that may have been used. So my search continues....I might someday give the anchor another try because there were other menu items that sounded good - but a lot of other places to try first. Sorry Anchor. read more

All of the food was so fresh, the make it explicit that everything is made to order and nothing is frozen or comes from a bag. We LOVED The Anchor! My husband and I moved to Palm Coast in December and this was our first time at the little restaurant by the beach! It was a casual and clean atmosphere! We sat at a table in the bar area and it was busy but not overly crowded. We ordered drinks and I got the seafood pot pie as my meal and my husband got the stuffed shrimp. Each meal came with a salad, which I got the ranch dressing for mine and it was awesome, I'm picky about ranch dressing and I loved it! My pot pie was delicious!! My husband loved his meal as well, he had the stuffed shrimp, which he said was one of the best seafood meals he has had at a restaurant on Flagler beach! What we loved the most was that the staff all worked together to take care of the customer, it wasn't about their own tables and their own tips. So I just attended a Limited Seating event with performances by Tiffany and Donovan Lee Carpenter at The Anchor restaurant. They had a small menu available for the event we I ordered the Surf and Turf and my wife ordered the Chicken. Hopefully someone comments on what the Chicken included but it was stuffed with sundried tomatoes and cheese or something (not sure. It was the wife's plate), all I know is she said it was amazing and the sauce that was on the plate was incredible. I wasn't expecting much out of a planned menu for a Valentine's event but I was pleasantly surprised. THE LOBSTER WAS THE BEST THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. PERIOD POINT BLANK BEST EVER! The verts were seasoned perfectly and the twice baked potato was perfect. The steak for the surf and turf may have been the only downside of the meal. It was cooked to medium instead of medium rare and wasn't really a great cut, but for a total of $40 for the entire plate, it was an incredible value. I would have preferred a better cut at an increased price. As far as the performances, our table was completely blocked from a view of the stage but Donovan Lee Carpenter was great. He sang mostly covers with a female singer accompanying him. Tiffany was super personable and performed several older and several newer songs. Our waitress (I believe her name was Natasha but I was drinking and might have gotten that wrong) was absolutely incredible! Our drinks stayed full and she checked in often. Great job!! All and all.... It was an incredible evening. I will definitely be making the hour and a half drive to visit again. I simply must have more of that lobster! read more

December 12th, at 5:45, was my second time to this restaurant. I enjoyed both visits as the food is very good. I've noticed that when restaurants are slow, as this one was, the service seems slow as well but this was not the case. I asked our server, about the very empty restaurant and she said it was a very afternoon and the break was welcomed. Elsa, gave us excellent service and was on top of almost everything. The only thing she messed up on, which I just discovered looking back through my receipts from the trip, was charging me for wine that I did not order. I'll take the blame, and have already paid the price, for not checking my bill more closely. It was a lesson learned. So go out to The Anchor, or any other restaurant, and enjoy yourself. This restaurant is located in Flagler Beach right on the ocean. So, the scenery is definitely a good start! We started out with New England chowder which was filled with clams surrounded by very rich creamy sauce. Perfect. Entrees - grilled blackened chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, Seafood Americana and Seafood crusted Ahi tuna. Desserts - cheesecake with a strawberry topping and a peanut butter pie. Tuna was perfectly cooked, the seafood Americana was filled with seafood, mushrooms and a creamy sauce. Everything was perfect. The only real issue was the delay in service. When we first got our drinks there must have been like a 15-minute or at least it seemed like that long, to have the waitress come back to take our order. The soup came out right away and then it seemed like another 20-30 minutes to get the actual food. Luckily, we weren't a rush. All in all, we really enjoyed our dinner. read more
