It was a horrible decision to go here for breakfast. Both me and my husband will never come back to this place again. We ordered Belgian waffles and a veggie omelette. The waffles was soft unlike how the "Belgian waffles" should be. The fruit which came with it was even more disappointed. This is definitely my new go to breakfast/lunch spot in Manchester. The staff of so friendly, I was doing the office lunch run so I had multiple orders with different payment methods, and they were to patient and helpful. What really impressed me is when I called to place the order they said "Thank you for calling The Angry Egg, how are you today?" ....How are you today...I've never had a restaurant answer that way and with such a friendly tone. I was interested in checking this place out because of the name and the icon. My wife and I finally got our chance this morning prior to the car show. The first thing I noticed was the carved egg on the wall. Of course, being a carver, I asked about it. Apparently a customer walked in with it one day and gave it to them. That, by itself, was a testament to the quality of the food. Continuing with the decor, I enjoyed the quirky look of the whole place. Everywhere you looked, something captures the attention. I very much like the fact that some of the art on the walls is for sale, and it appears to be local artist work. I did actually eat there as well and it was as good as the decor. I had the egg wrap, the best one I've ever had. The fruit was fresh too. I also had sweet plantains and fried plantains (shared with my wife!). I lean toward sweet plantains (perhaps I'm not sweet enough?) but the sauce with the fried plantains was made in house and very good. I would highly recommend this place. Love this place!! Went with friends so got a good cross section of breakfast and lunch dishes. Generous portions. My wrap was delicious and the fresh fruit was the seasons best. The French toast was sweet and stuffed, also seasonal fruit. And the tuna sandwich was customized for veggies. And the fries - wow. Obviously home made - crunchy on outside & tender inner. I'm a weekend regular at the angry egg. Moved here from out of state, 1,000 miles away from everyone else I knew. This was one of the first restaurants I tried living in Connecticut and right away I felt like I was at home. The friendly and loving staff brings me in and I always look forward what is on their specials board. Their cooks are passionate about what they do and are always trying new things. Can't say I have ever been disappointed coming, easily one of my favorite things about Connecticut. I recommend absolutely everyone to give them a try, you will not regret it. read more

We have tried to eat at the Angry four times since June 1 and have only been successful on the first attempt. The food was fine. We never got a table the other three times. Today was the last straw. We waited outside for 25 minutes for our first available table selection only to have another couple walk in and immediately be seated at the table rather had been empty write in front of us. There was no explanation for this because we had been standing there long enough to know who was ahead of us. If this had just happened once, ok. The time before we waited and waited then decided to eat next door. We were on our way home after having eaten and they called to say our table was ready. That was over an hour after we signed in for first available. People rave about the Angry Egg but I guess I'll never really get to find out why. We are at Penny's Place now. I went here for breakfast. We were seated right away and asked for our drink order. It took us a few minutes to look over the menu as they have an extensive breakfast selection and it was my first time here. I decided to get the chicken and waffles. I enjoyed my meal! It was tasty! I wish I had gotten a sharper knife to cut the chicken as it was a little difficult. If I could I would give this place one star. We waited 15 minutes to be seated. Placed our order and apparently the system crashed. The waitress told us our order was coming, 45 minutes later I asked how much longer and she said another 10-15 minutes. I understand the crash of the system, however, people that were seated after us received their food. It should not take an hour for breakfast regardless of the system crashing! While waiting for our table outside the staff was screaming at customers you can only stand on the left side, away from the tables. How are people to know that if it's not posted anywhere. Plenty of other rules listed! There was chaos from the beginning. We ended up leaving and the waitress charged me for my coffee!! The coffee should have been on the house since we waisted an hour sitting there with no food. Horrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and skip this place! On a more positive note, we did however have an amazing breakfast at the Cosmic Omelet! read more

I came here with my parents on a Saturday morning for brunch. The service left a lot to be desired, perhaps it was because the waitress who was supposed to take our table left early and the back up waitress was not thrilled about it. Regardless, we waited quite a while to be waited on and then when I told the waitress THREE times that I wanted decaf coffee, she still brought regular coffee to the table. The food also left a lot to be desired. I got the breakfast casserole, which was alright but a bit under-salted. My husband got the breakfast wrap, which was tiny! Definitely not enough food for brunch. My dad got the breakfast combo with pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc. His meal was really good, the pancakes were perfect and the bacon was very nice. There are a lot of breakfast options in Manchester, but we were looking for gluten-free pancakes so we ended up here. It's a cute breakfast place with a bit of an upscale diner feel. I ordered, and liked, the Angry Egg Sammich. The Bogners pepper bacon really helped the sandwich and it was nice and crispy without being overcooked. My daughter liked the flavor of the gluten-free pancakes. There's an extra charge for real maple syrup, but glad it's an option. My daughter did not like the hot chocolate at all (too watery) and didn't drink it. Not asking about that, or offering to take it off the bill, was the only service misstep by our waitress. After reading about how your restaurant is owned and operated by people who previously worked for one of the higher end restaurants in town, I was curios to see how you would do breakfast. I was able to stop in for breakfast this morning and I was very happy that I did. The breakfast "sammich" with peppered bacon, egg and cheese on a brioche bun was delicious. Your home fries might be the best in town - flavorful, lightly fried and not saturated in oil. The service was friendly and the Big Band Era music provided a pleasantly mellow atmosphere. For a new breakfast/lunch spot, I prepared myself for the usual hiccups that come with "new" restaurants with their service, food prep, long waits, etc...I was pleasantly surprised. While the eggs at your restaurant might be angry, I definitely wasn't. I can't wait to come back with my family. read more

Stopped by here with my son and almost didn't eat here becasue there was a wait list and we had to wait outside (its a fairly tight/small pace) and it was chilly out. I'm glad I walked up and down the street and waited because the breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly. My son enjoyed his chicken and waffles and I enjoyed my 'everything' plate (eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage) extravaganza. It's a nice new addition to downtown Manchester. The service was a bit slow. It took an hour for our food to come out, but, to be fair, we had a party of 9 people. When the food came out, it was hot and fresh. Almost everyone enjoyed their dishes. The sweet potato hash was absolutely amazing. My pancakes were fluffy and my eggs and home fries were done just right. My bacon was way over cooked for my personal tastes, but if you like your bacon charred, you'd appreciate it. There was only one big misfire. My husband's biscuit was absolutely inedible. It was like eating a brick of salty flour. They need to change out their recipe. It is very moderately priced compared to other breakfast places in the area. It's a good value for what it is. It also has a very interesting menu. There are definitely more items on the menu that I want to try. I will likely be back, if I can convince my husband to forgive them for that flour filled rock they called a biscuit. read more

Came here on Easter Sunday to enjoy some Easter brunch with my family to only be disappointed with the quality of food. The chicken and waffles dish was a good selection the last time we ate but this time around the chicken had absolutely no flavor and waffles had a cardboard texture. The California omelet had no flavor what so ever. After the food was brought to us, not once did the server ask how the food was. My husband is a server and was curious if there was a new cook. We asked the server and she said that in fact there was a new cook because the owner was currently in Vermont opening a new restaurant and was not currently here. And her other excuse was that it was the end of the day so food was not as fresh. Seriously??? We preferred Chez Ben because food there in Manchester is delicious but they were closed today. But We will never come here again. If I could give no stars I would but my option was one star. So remember do not come after 12 pm because the food will not be fresh! No my words! read more

Came hangry, left disappointed. This place is fairly new after taking over a previous breakfast joint. The new owners have cleaned it up nice, fresh & bright. Long line at 9:45. Had to wait 1/2 hour for a single counter space (bad timing for me), however food service took about 15 minutes to come out. Over easy eggs were well done with yolks broken & without the sausage I ordered. When I sent it back it came back with the same 'now old, cold & dry' toast & spuds. The sausage was very hot because they deep fried them in the fryer. I can't remember the last time I didn't clean my plate. I left the toast & spuds here. I was given the check for only my coffee. I will try coming again since there is a 'buzz' & the place is clean & bright with nice waite staff. read more

I had the French toast - not just any French toast - two monster slices of soft fluffy bread stuffed with fruit and mascarpone cheese. And the whole thing was evenly cooked throughout - no soggy egg parts. Perfection and most impressive considering the size of the bread. It was delicious!
