Outside of arbor grill - plenty of outdoor seating for people that want to relax/study/eat/etc.

Arbor grill is a restaurant/student store that is conveniently located on CSUN's campus. They have snacks, school supplies and various items for students to purchase, and have a grill in the back of the store. It's also conveniently located next to a Freudian sip (coffee house)! They really have it all for students that have classes on this side of the campus. I've been getting really tired of pizza, but the arbor grills pizza is pretty delicious! It's a 7inch for about $4, which is not bad at all! They also have burgers, different sandwiches, salads and more (some things change daily). Seems pretty healthy and well balanced! How it works is you order from the back of the store and then bring it to the cashiers in the front. Customer service is always on point (the cashiers/food prep understand the student struggle). There's ample outdoor seating with music. It only sucks when it's raining/cold. Keep it up!

If you do go here. Stick to the salads. Pretty much everything else is disappointing and bland. Like have the workers even tasted the dishes and what they are serving people? I would know I've been a professional sandwich maker for years don't make a dry sandwich. Like call me and I'll teach your staff how to make one?? Also. I'm not expecting the best quality of food. It's a college run chain with cheap alternatives. But at least make it taste good. I've tried the crispy chicken sandwich. Asked several times for a different bun but still got the onion one and I did not have time to wait another 20 min so I just went with it. Tater tots are fried too long and poorly so it's mostly just dry oily potato and like 3 small chunks of potatoes inside that haven't been fried. Bleh Burgers are also dry and bland. I get it, they're like $2 and you can drench it in condiments if you want to. but you can also walk over to McDonald's and get a better one for $1. Decided to go with a pulled pork sandwich this time and OH BOY JUST DONT GET IT. it says it has bbq sauce and COLESLAW. there is no slaw. Just a few pieces of LETTUCE tossed in some bbq sauce. Also the bbq sauce is only on the "French roll" or as I'd like to call it, dry roll. Sauce is not mixed in with the pork and there is not enough on there making the whole sandwich very dry.

Arbor Grill is probably my second favorite place to eat on Campus. Not only do they have snacks and pre-made food but they also have fresh to order food. What they have . . . Personal Sized Pizzas: decent Fresh Tossed Salad: refreshing, better than the packaged salads Potatoes (plain, broccoli, or loaded): more bang for your buck Sandwiches and Subs (tuna melts or Reubens): decent Hamburgers, hot dogs, and sausages: ahh they have better ones at the pub and much, much more. Location The Arbor Grill is right across Juniper Hall which is convenient for us Business Majors. They have a ton of outdoor seating, some of which are shaded by umbrellas or trees and some of which are surrounded by their mist systems for those hot valley days. Overall They are fairly fast depending on what you get, they have a ton of seating, and a lot of options. So, overall The Arbor Grill is A-okkk for me. Tip Don't buy the "Bestway" products (premade salads, sandwiches, or pastas) it's not worth the disappointment or the price.

Always on time, helpful, and the cheese pizza is surprising good for quick on-campus food. Only been not great a couple of times.

I love it. The food that they serve that we want to order are fresh. Best CSUN Resturant by far. It has anything that you want.

Let me start by saying I'm disgusted at the idea of salad, but this place right here is one of the few that make salads delicious.

The drinks looked good but I decided to save some calories and just had a glass of water. For food I started with clam chowder. I'm thinking it was a special since it was on a piece of paper on the table. It came in a bread bowl...it had lots or clams, bacon and potatoes. It was delicious. It could have been a meal with a small salad. So for my entree I had the lobster Mac and cheese. It was good as a well. Ooey gooey and seasoned nicely. I was almost full from the chowder so only at about 1/3 of it but would definitely recommend. It was my first time coming here and I'd definitely return.

Service - 5/10 I'm not sure if they were just so understaffed or what was going on. Food took forever to come out & it seemed as if there was only 1 waiter for the entire restaurant. She also had an ugly attitude. Price - 2/10 Honestly for pub food, it's way too overpriced. You're paying West Hollywood prices in the valley, probably more. I hate that each sandwich/burger is $15+ à la carte. Ridiculous! Cocktails - 2/10 Ordered an old fashioned multiple times & each time it was too heavy on the bitters. Gross! Ambiance - 6/10 It's a cool dive bar feel but the TV sound could've been on for the ball game. OVERALL - 6/10 It's way too overpriced to even want to come back. The food is mid, and just not worth the price. The beer options also are not it. Cocktails aren't great either. Probably wouldn't come back.

I then learned that they are known for their honey baked ham and that they serve a mean breakfast. Today I stopped by for the first time to give it a try. I went with honey baked ham Benedict with a side of hash browns. The portion was of a good size and visually looked great. The benedict tasted pretty good, with its yummy lemony hollandaise sauce, toasted muffin and the famous honey baked ham. However, the ham was a bit on the drier side and I was really hoping it would be more juicy. The hash browns too, were a bit dry. Still a good meal, but I like mine to be more tender and juicier. The seating area has around 8 tables, with a decor of an older diner. The service was friendly and fast. I may try this spot again--maybe a sandwich this time.

This review is fo my last visit which was 2 days before Thanksgiving 2025…read more I got there 10 minutes before they officially opened, and the line was already out on the sidewalk. I finally got to the counter to place my order 2 hours after opening. No issue with waiting in line considering the Thanksgiving crowd. The issue I have is how management dealt with dealing with the lines. There were 2 lines: pre-order/pre-paid or walk-ins. There were 6 registers: 5 are for the pre-order/pre-paid, and the 1 was for the walk-ins. The issue is that the walk-in line is super long, while the pre-order/pre-paid line had no more than between 6 to 8 people. Staff on the 5 registers informed walk-in customers that management told them they are only ring up pre-order/pre-pay. Meanwhile, walk-in customers would suffer because of some idiotic management decision, and they are too obtuse to fix a simple problem to solve. RIDICULOUS!!! Lesson learned, best to pre-order/pre-pay for next year at least 2 week ahead. If you wait too late, they will not accept anymore pre-order/pre-pay. The good news: we very much enjoyed the honey baked ham, pork roast, mash & gravy, and baby back ribs were awesome!!!
