Just wanted to provide an update to my previous review- I'd moved to the east coast for 2 years for a postdoc before coming back to California permanently and when I moved back, I was eager to schedule an appointment with Ilene. I had gone to a different lash artist while living on the east coast and was somewhat disappointed with my experience there, so I had not had my lashes done for two years! I came in for both a brow lamination/shaping and a lash lift and Ilene did an incredible job. Even though I hadn't seen her in a long time she still knew exactly how I wanted my lashes done and did an amazing job on my first brow lamination. I unfortunately didn't like my lift. The next day I noticed that one side stayed lifted while the other one was pretty much flat with barely any curl to it. I did not get them wet and I made sure that when going to sleep they were not going to be pushed agaisnt the pillow by going to sleep with glasses. I would do that when I had extensions and it works. She did message me a couple days later and I expressed how I felt about the results the next day and she never replied to that. During the process it went well until she removed the last thing on my eyelid. As she almost removed it, she ripped it off. The feeling was like that of a band-aid when they slowly remove it and then pull it quickly, and since it was on my eyelid it hurt. I paid $90 for the lift and tint and was not happy with the results. My friend recommended to curl the other side but the whole point was that I didnt need that with the lift. read more

I have been going to Illene for more than a year. When I first went to her my brows were so bad, I would pluck them and use store bought wax strips to do my own brows at home. I've had them done before at benefit at ulta but nothing compares to Illene! She is amazing! My brows are now full! I'm even getting comfortable not wearing anything on them because of how full they are! Growing and perfecting your eyebrows take time and regular maintenance so have patience. Ilene is FANTASTIC! 1. Lashes: I got a lash lift and tint. I've had that before and she did an excellent job. They look great! 2. Eyebrows: Never have I ever done a dang thing with my brows. I don't have any to do anything with! They're very light/blond and sparse and even in some places, I don't have any. My concern was, I need a NATURAL brow. While I love the angles on others, it was not a look I wanted. She used a henna tint and followed the natural contour of my brow and they look AMAZING! I have eyebrows people!! I have bald spots in my eyebrows they are totally uneven one is arched the other is not and to top it all off I barely have any eyebrows at all ..totally the worst. I had given up on having "good brows" I have tried waxing and threading and always end up looking worst with super thin eyebrows that don't match my face BUUUUUUT ilene works some magic! My eyebrows look full and natural and it's super easy for me to fill them in. She also doesn't let you leave her chair with those awful red marks from waxing.
