Space was clean, nicely decorated and could accommodate 40 guests, not sure what the other space rents for so double check with the owner. Had a very fun gender reveal party and are thankful that Just for Fun Art accepted the last minute request. We were allowed to bring our own extra decorations and food. I hated it throughout my school years, and I failed miserably in it in High School. As I got older, here comes Paint Nite! Where you sip wine n paint. My first time in 2017, I didn't even drink my wine as to I was too concentrated on my painting! And that one was a masterpiece too. And tonight, was my time to SHINE AGAIN! I needed some "MEENA TIME" and while searching for Sacramento events, up came "Painting and Vino". Now, there is NO WINE at the event despite the name and they make that clear before booking. So please read before buying your ticket! BUT you're more than welcome to bring your own Vino and snacks!! Tonight Painting n Vino was held at, "Crystal Vibez" in Sacramento and hosted by the Sweet Wonderful Kathy!! She was the most nicest, kindest art instructor and she has so much patience! She showed us to paint a sunset overlooking an island. And she went step by step with what brushes, strokes, color blending and all to do! And a few hours later my masterpiece was born! And I made some new friends while painting away! You must sign up for a class, it's so much fun! And you meet all kinds of fun people and the best part is seeing everyone's masterpieces at the end! The place…read moreitself was corky and cute .. it's a canvass painting place but had classes that taught you how to decorate a cookie in detail.. there is a corner of the place that sold woman's clothing.. a bit weird but ‍.. the class was relaxing and fun! Took a throwing class with Terry, who was great. He was super informative and willing to help…read morethroughout all my four classes. I ended up making about 5 pieces throughout the four classes. We glazed during our fourth and final class, meaning we had to return to find our pieces. When I came back the fifth week, my pieces were still not fired in the kiln yet. So I decided to come back in two weeks. That's where I ran into my issue. All of our completed pieces are in a separate room where the glazing happens. There was another instructor, bald lady who I believe instructs the hand throwing class, who was teaching her class how to glaze. My friend and I were looking for our pieces, trying to be as quiet as possible. However, noise is going to be made as we're rummaging through a bunch of finished pieces. There are about four separate sections where our pieces could be, so as we were going through the finished pottery pieces, someone from her class asked my friend and I to be quiet, which we were already trying to be as quiet as possible. She said that we were being rude and disruptive. However, this is just the nature of this room. People are going to be going in and out, trying to find their pieces, as they only place the finalized pieces here. This is when I expected the bald instructor to speak up but she was super rude as well. She was demeaning and condescending towards us. She talked down to us as if my friend and I were 5 years old. When we were looking through the non fired pieces, she raised her voice telling us not to touch the pieces if they weren't ours. The issue is, when you paint the glaze, not only does your piece look completely different, but the glaze is all different types of crazy colors. The only way to verify if the piece is yours is if you find your name on the bottom of the piece. So not only were we not able to verify if those pieces were ours, as the instructor was giving us attitude, we weren't able to find all of our pieces. We went back to our instructor, who was kind enough to find our pieces for us. Overall, we had a good experience but that last instructor really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm conflicted on what score to give, and really feel as though how are you an instructor when you are so rude? For sure left a bad taste in my mouth.

I love this cultural center! I have only been there once for it's drumming class. Victor was…read moreextremely patient, polite, friendly and easy going. I was not very good at drumming both the beat and holding the sticks properly and he kept redirecting me and giving me help like chanting on beat. More importantly I brought my family and my brother is autistic. My brother saw a big drum set and just jumping and started playing. We felt bad and triesd o tell him to stop but Victor said it was fine and to let him continue playing. A great experience and I am so glad I had it and was glad to contribute to this community center financially. It's not overly technical and it was a small class (at least the day I went). It was relaxed, fun, and at my own pace. The center also offers many other classes like Samba for $15 at same time and locations as drumming. Classes are led by instructor Saara Burga, a master dancer hailing from Manaus, Brazil with a lifetime of experience in various Brazilian dance styles and Victor Hugo a drumming either extensive experience in Brazilian drumming across South America. The center also offers portugese language classes that require pre-registration, Brazalian and Latin American fesivals and events, capoeira workshops and other workshops. You can also volunteer with them and I will provide that information below. I am so glad to see that this place is still running as I had read that previously it was on the verge of being replaced by a different community center which would be sad since this is the only Brazilian one. I am grateful they are bringing Brazilian culture to our city keeping it's roots alive. I hope it stays a while! What Volunteering Looks Like 1. Event Support Volunteers help at cultural events and performances by: Setting up instruments and equipment Helping with sound or staging Greeting guests Assisting performers Helping with clean-up Distributing programs or schedules These events include samba shows, dance performances, music ensembles, and community cultural celebrations. 2. Class Support & Workshops Volunteers may: Help set up percussion instruments for drumming classes Support youth during workshops Assist instructors with materials Help maintain instruments Encourage participation This is great if you enjoy music, community learning, and helping others participate. 3. Not all were my taste but the effort put into everything is commendable. The shows that I enjoyed were killer though. I was in actual tears laughing so hard. My favorites are the titular STAB Show on Friday nights and Scene Kids winch I believe is 2nd Saturdays. Over all a theater I'll be returning to for quite sometime thanks to the humor, COVID awareness, Good pricing(you can get a ticket for the whole night!) and general good vibes!
