We walked along the convention area to finish off our night after eating and drinking too much. We were stuffed before being drawn in to this place my the amazing vocals and band (keyboards & drum). I came here for outdoor dining on a breezy Saturday evening. This establishment is located by the Pike Outlets in Long Beach. It's a great spot for brunch and a munch while hanging out by the water (unfortunately, not next to the water). That being said, the area is quite charming. Food and Drinks: 4 out of 5 The beers are crisp and fresh. I definitely recommend getting a beer, even if you're not the greatest beer fan. They have a fairly large variety, so might just find something that suits your palate. The servers may have helpful suggestions for you, as well. Now, I am a HUGE fan of Irish breakfast. I will literally have it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, dessert if I really could. The food here was pretty fresh. It was chilly, so the food quickly got cold. It's not the restaurant's fault, of course. A great dish, regardless of the food temperature! The beef stew was pretty good and the size of the dish is fairly portioned, as well. It's a great comfort food, especially on a chilly evening like the time I visited. Service 3.5 out of 5 The overall service is friendly. We had a doggie friend and the server brought out water for him. She also engaged in a pleasant conversation with us while serving us. On the other hand, the staff inside were bit on the rude side. I went in to use the restroom and I had to repeatedly call on this particular staff to get their attention to ask for the direction of the restroom. The staff here are incredible. I had a meet-up with about 20-30 people--all separate self pay. Vitta was amazing. Super impressed! I thought this would just be a little dive bar and it ended up having amazing food and service! I came here to watch the world cup finals at 7:30 in the morning. It was crowded, but the Auld Dubliner did a great job of opening windows and having plenty of TVs so you could see the game and it wouldn't get gross or stuffy. The prices were super reasonable- because it was before 8AM, I had a tea. For $3, you get a whole pot of tea! My friends all ordered breakfast and it was pretty solid considering this is a bar. I went there once and I will never go back for a second time. Ordering Corned Beef and Cabbage was a big mistake. The meat was very tough. It was difficult to cut and chew. I mean, the table was shaking when I would slice it. In addition, it did not taste great. Do not order Corned Beef and Cabbage because it's a waste of money. The service was okay, but nothing special. I don't mind the fact that our server added "Gratuity" on our tab, but the service was standard. Ambiance was fine. I just wished it was cleaner inside. A late Sunday afternoon brought us to the Long Beach coast and this wonderful Irish themed bar. The pub and restaurant was a five minute walk from our hotel. I enjoyed a cold glass of cider. Nice! I checked in on Yelp and was awarded with a 50% off appetizer deal. The crisp cut fries, sprinkled with malt vinegar crushed the hunger. Next visit, I have to order up the fish & chips. Very disappointed in the service at this location. We were excited to try a new place with it being St Patricks day weekend. We heard good reviews about this place so decided to take the drive down to check it out and was very disappointed in the customer service. First off when walking in you don't get greeted at all, we just stood there wondering do we wait to be seated or seat ourselves. When asked the lady just rudely says there's no tables available and you can basically figure it out yourself. If that wasn't bad already the system was down so you had to go to the bar to order, this wasn't a problem but the way we were told was very rude. I understand you are stressed out and it's a busy weekend but if you are going to work in customer service you have to know how to treat your customers even in stressful situations. Once we were finally seated at a table I had asked where the restroom was as this is my first time attending and was rudely told its over there as he continues to keep his conversation going not even looking my way. Worse experience at a pub ever and will not be attending again. If you want a good vibe AND good customer service head over to Macallans in Brea. That would be worth the drive. read more

The service here has always been amazing. I don't know what it is but the bartenders are always happy, in a great mood, and very chipper. It makes me want to just stay there lol. We started coming because we were tired of our usual bars in downtown. We came here and were recommended to have a Guinness on draft. It's safe to say that every time we come, we always ordered it. We've had their fish and chips, the wings that came with potatoes, and I just tried their shepherds pie for the first time yesterday. I was always scared to try it because I know it has lamb but the bartender said I had to try it. I was not disappointed. Shared it with everyone but I ate all of it. The next morning my boyfriend said he should of had more of it because it was so good. We had rounds of jagger shots, mixed with whiskey flights, and a delicious drink called the drunken garden. Sadly I have no photos of that pie. You will just have to go in and try it for yourself. You seat yourself wherever you can find a seat. There's inside and outside dinning. There's a QR code on the table you can scan for the menu. Make sure to remember what table number you are by looking at the corner of the table. You have to go up and order at the bar. Parking you can find across the street in a lot of you can park at the Pike which is only free for 30 minutes. read more

Whoop whoop! Came in Wed late night and arrived to a jovial lone guitar playing guy playing a wide range of acoustic songs. This place stays open until 2am! Thank you. Its located in the Pike Place shopping area, but it is an Irish bar complete with wooden bar, old time photos and good gin & tonics. In and outdoor seating. Clean bathrooms. I read about this place and it sounded so cool, so I decided to take my family of 4 there. Parking was tough, as to be expected downtown, but we finally found a spot in a paid structure that was a couple blocks away. We walk into the pub and there's a sign that says to grab menus and seat yourself. We grab four menus and walk around the entire restaurant looking for a table, but they're all full. We really wanted to eat there, and we had already paid for parking, so we decided to wait for someone to leave. We stood around for a few minutes, feeling very much in the way, with servers saying "excuse me" to us as they had to get by. Then a group of 5 came in and also started milling about looking for a table. The thought of having to be aggressive to get a table, while also awkwardly being in everyone's way, was too much to handle and we left. I can't believe the Auld Dubliner doesn't take names for a wait list, and instead just lets their potential customers struggle. We ended up eating at a little dive bar called The Pike (which was awesome btw and also crowded) and even there they had a sign that said to see the bartender for a table. The Auld Dubliner seems like such a cool place, if they could only get their wait system organized. read more

I organized 9 people for dinner and drinks. The waitress, designated as PM B on my receipt, charged me for a gratuity that was entirely undeserved. She refused to recognize my request for a drink. This happened 3 times. Then, she acknowledged my colleague (a man) and a drink arrived. Then, she didn't serve water or condiments that were missing from our order. She was nowhere to be found. She didn't ask if we needed anything or if we were ok with our meal. Perhaps she is blind to her own prejudices in serving only men. However, she seized the opportunity to yell at me in my face for not providing even more tip above what was added without my permission. Fortunately, I'm not accustomed to such horrible and aggressive people. If she was my employee, she would have been dismissed on the spot. read more

This pub was pretty fantastic. The atmosphere was really laid back with lots to see around the bar. Staff were really nice and attentive. We came in with a party of like 12 people and we had a great time. I had ordered a burger and was it delicious. Cooked perfectly and the fries were crisp. I had also ordered an old fashioned but it really didn't have much flavor and was more watered down. The waitress took it back and i ordered the snake bite. It tasted really good! That place be the" Auld Dubliner" for me and my fellow adventurer Alba Corona Lopez of Highland Park, Ca. We spotted this place on the way down from Pine Ave to the waterfront area. We poked our head in and asked a few questions. Nuf' said, we be eating here today. We ordered a couple pints of Guinness, some oysters, clams, bread and fish and chips. It was all marvelous. Loved the ambiance. Prices and service was great. We were quite impressed with the amount of fish that came with the Fish N Chips' .... maybe they should call it " Whale and Chips"? Wow I'm impressed! Happened upon this place randomly and it was an above and beyond experience. I've been to Ireland several times, and this place took me right back. They had a traditional Irish style band playing at one of the tables (as is the custom in Ireland...no stages), along with a jig dancer! So awesome. But that wasn't it! The food we had was really good - I had the corned beef sandwich, and it was quality ingredients and well executed all around. The tater tots my friend ordered were homemade, and as soon as I tasted one I could tell that I never had a homemade tot before. So rad, will absolutely return. read more

This Irish bar is surprisingly great--not only for trivia nite on Mondays, but also for its selection of foods and drinks as well! It's my first time to try Itish food (tried to go to several other Irish Pubs on Saint Patrick's Day but for some strange reason we could not find the one place that looked appealing. It had nothing to do about crowding. At the front door it clearly states that we have to find our own seats. They do not have any disinterested receptionist. All one has to do is grab the menu and find one's own table. This is new for me but I liked the idea that they were unapologetic for the kind of set-up that they have. (It is what it is and I love it.) Once one is ready to order all that a patron has to do is approach the bar. I don't have any issues or complaints. The food came out within a reasonable amount of time. The food was served fresh and at the proper temperature which was also good considering how chilly it was when we arrived there.. The music was, for me, just the right volume. My friend and I were able to carry on our coversatiob without having to raise our voices. The spacing of the seats was also great because, despite having no booths or barriers, I couldn't hear conversations from other tables nearby. If only this was located closer to where I live I'd be coming here more often. I don't mind that it is in Long Beach and I think that their having chosen this city works best dor them. I just don't think that I'd always have the time and patience to go through the 405, the 110, and the 710, all of which have their own grid locks nearly all the time. read more

Tried the corned beef and crispy fish tacos. For $4 it was a good portion and the meat was well cooked. The shepherds pie was the main dish to try and very authentic. The mashed potato to filling ratio was spot on and flavorful. We came at odd hours so parking was easy and we didn't have to wait long. If you come on a weekend night though, expect to park in the lot across the street and hope the live music is to your liking. The staff were friendly and attentive. While not 100% Irish pub authentic, as demonstrated by the fusion food, you can get some traditional favorites while also enjoying new things. read more

While attending a conference, I needed to get a quick lunch nearby. Across from the Convention Center, I found this Irish bar and restaurant. The inside was full of interesting items on the wall, all about Ireland, Guinness, and old memorabilia. Good amount of seating, with a nice space in between. Within a few seconds, a very nice and welcoming bartender greeted me and told me to sit wherever I'd like, since I was alone, I sat at the bar. I wanted fish and chips, but I also wanted curry chips... so, I asked the bartender if I could get fish and chips with curry sauce, and he said "Sure!" He even asked if I wanted on the top or on the side. How nice! I asked the curry sauce to be on the side. The Fish and Chips came piping hot and it was HUGE!!!! The batter was super crispy and crunchy, not greasy at all. The fish was amazing, juicy and flakey, so delicious! One of the BEST fish and chips I have ever had! The side of Irish style Curry Sauce tasted very different from what I imagined it would be... It was sweet with a little kick that came after. Kind of tasted like mushy peas a bit for some reason... It was an acquired taste. I am glad I asked it on the side and not poured over it. It was an excellent lunch, I enjoyed my fish and chips tremendously! I had the left over for my dinner, and it was still super tasty!
