Wow, I cannot say enough good things about Hector. I didn't think there were any mechanics that were this honest. I had taken my car into Tesla because it was making a noise while I was steering the car. They wanted to charge me $2700 for new Control arm and bushing. So I took my car back and brought it into Hector and nothing was wrong with my car except loose bolts . Absolutely nothing wrong with my car except loose bolts . My '70 C10 truck has updated suspension and a modern performance LS motor with modern A/C... everything is a bit complicated Hector has done a great job finding things from the build that needed help and is also a nice guy to work with (which is not the case with many shops that work on older cars). I found The Auto Doctor when I needed and oil change and found many shops wouldn't touch an older car (even with a modern engine) for this, then got my a/c charged, hydroboost brake lines/leaks fixed, shifter adjusted... and Hector didn't try to overcharge like some other shops when they see a classic car roll in. He did all of my front steering components, bearing hubs, ball joints, u joints, tie rods, steering stabilizer, pitman arm, and my steering box. Hector is the Best! I have been taking my BMW's and VW's to Hector for a few years now. His honesty won me over initially, but the reality is that it's more than his honesty. I need to know I'm getting a fair estimate, quality parts/repairs. Hector has always saved me money and time. I once received an estimate (at a less respectable shop) for 2200$ for an AC replacement that the car did not even need. Hector fixed my AC for around 300$! Being a woman, I get taken advantage of a lot when getting my car worked on, but Hector has bent over backward to do only what needs to be done, and doing it thoroughly. Terrible experience at this place told me it should take 20-40 minutes for an oil change and took 2 and a half hours. My car also sounds worst then when I took it in so now I have to take it to another mechanic to check out the damage that these guys did. Nice guys but they don't know what they're doing. read more
