    BEANS!!!
    Phil M.

Visiting Boston after going to a concert. The Avenue was a yelp recommended late night spot near my hotel. Stopped in and wasn't really impressed. The music was way too loud for it to be just a radio speaker. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was more beans than anything else. The male runners aren't very courteous, the just drop your food at the table and dip before you can ask for anything. Maybe I'll try another visit when I'm back to see if maybe it was a one off but overall, wasn't really impressed.

    Nachos and Buffalo wings

The Ave is such a vibe. We came for dinner on a Wednesday night and it was packed. Poppin. In the best way possible (it's important to note that it wasn't slow service because it was packed but more so it was very cool to see a place so busy on a Wednesday full of people of all ages). They also have an outdoor seating option right on comm ave which was also full because it was a beautiful night out! Go figure. :) We got the buffalo wings, waffle fries (a must order) and the nachos. The Buffalo wings were oh so good. Not overboard spicy but also definitely still had a Buffalo wing kick to them. The waffle fries are so good here -- one of my favorite menu items. You can even order them with a cheese and bacon topping too. The nachos were HUGE and sooo filling and loaded with toppings which is a major plus. They also have promo nights on Wednesday's and Thursday's and their kitchen it's open until 1am!! That's hard to come by in Boston. Fabulous spot, friendly stuff, good vibes, good music, this list goes on.

This is such a great neighborhood bar. Very low key with a great draft selection and relatively cheap food. There is one server there that has been there for at least the past 3 years that I have been living in the area and she is so great and makes the experience even better. They always have seasonal beers on tap and had a good selection of pumpkin beers. For food I had the chicken tenders and fries (can't go wrong with this one) and my boyfriend and I split the pretzels. We had never had them before, but they were so good. They used to have late night specials which they have not had since they reopened from Covid. I hope they bring them back at some point.

Well, I guess it's TECHNICALLY a bacon cheeseburger...shoddy and cheap!

The proof is in the pudding....about the extra-charge bacon BARELY being in the burger. I'd be legitimately ashamed and embarrassed to serve this. Ridiculous. ONE SLICE! Even McDonald's puts more bacon in their burgers.

Nothing spectacular but a great cheap place to grab a drink and some food with friends. :) The outdoor seating is great.

It's still Tree House's beer but it's kind of bastardized. Imagine putting a Michelin star restaurant in a food court next to a Chic Fil A. It loses some of its luster. I went up to the makeshift portable bar and they had I am guessing 8-10 beers on tap. No flights. So, I ordered the girlfriend and I each a beer which were poured into plastic to-go cups. She got a Julius and I got an Ultimate Haze, both excellent. The atmosphere is just open mall area and then an outdoor atrium, both kind of blah. There was a kiosk to buy gear and a cooler around the corner to buy canned beer to go. Next time I will rent a car and go to one of the real brewery locations but for now I will be thankful that I could basically get a Julius hazy IPA next to an Orange Julius. Ha!

The whole process couldn't have been easier, especially after having done similar curbside pickups at several of their other locations. From the time I parked and checked in until I had my beer was about 3 minutes, although it was only me and 1 other car. I was about 20 mins early and they were able to accommodate me without an issue. They also have a retail spot on the arcade level near shake shack inside where you can pick up or even get merch. I didn't have time to get to the beer garden, so I cannot comment on that. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up at eh Prud again if I'm in the area. Hardest part was dealing with Boston. Copied some pics off of Tree House's website.

Both of us got combo platters with, between us, had a variation of wings, ribs, pulled pork, cole slaw, mashed potatoes and fries. I am guessing this restaurant is trying to make things "their own" by going an non-traditional route with some things and I'm usually fine with that - if I know it in advance. Cole slaw, while it had good flavor, was very heavy on the mayo and contained very large pieces of onion which is not common. I know far too many that don't like onions and this would have been an unpleasant surprise. The mashed had a good flavor as well (but woah, a TINY side that was the same portion as the cole slaw) but it had a spice to it in there - no clue what it was but, again, would have been a huge no to folks like my mother, my kids, etc. Onto the meats. They were OK but so dry if you don't opt to add in some of the sauces. The sauce offerings seemed a little different to us so we went with the "Classic BBQ" and frankly, we both hated it. It seems to have a "Hunts tomato sauce" base. That's exactly what it tasted like. Hunts tomato sauce. I wish I knew it was a tomato sauce base (or tasted like it) because it's very thin and heavy on the tomato flavor. Since we didn't like the sauce, our meats were SO dry b/c they had no sauce on them. Anywho - someone next to us ordered a sirloin, I believe, it looked great. Maybe we just went for the wrong thing. But I could not get that BBQ taste out of my mouth all night. Two 2 meat combos (with $1 upcharge for ribs), one appetizer (queso), a diet soda and 2 Bud Lights ($10 ea!) came to just over $90 before gratuity. We came here while crushing some time while our older son was at an activity and we have to repeat this in a couple of weeks. We will not be back here... we'll have to find another place to spend some time and have dinner. Again, service was TOP NOTCH - no complaints about service. But the food left a lot to be desired. We had higher expectations for sure.
