We were visiting from out of town and decided to try this place as it was close to our AirBnB. So glad we did! The food was amazing for pub fare and the staff and service was awesome. We had a bunch of the appetizers. The nachos, pretzel's and quesadillas were so so good! We came back a second time during our short stay in Spokane. I ordered the street noodles and my husband ordered the Lily Mac and they both were amazingly yummy! We were greeted as we walked in. Because of COVID regulations it was take out and they had a limited menu. They do have a back covered patio (where you can eat your take out), but no heaters yet, so we opted for take out. We did enjoy their local beer on tap while we waited for our order on the patio. Great customer service, we will come back when in the area again. read more

Ok, updating my review... it's been awhile since we've been here and we still like it but.... the food could have been better for the price.... The pretzel sticks, still good but a bit greasy. The Mac & Cheese - good but not the best I've had.... and the TBA Wrap, kind of lacking in everything but lettuce. The middle of the Wrap where it is sliced had the only turkey and avocado to be seen otherwise it was like some bacon and lettuce. The sweet potato fries were ok... kind of lacking in flavor but everything overall was just ok. I really like this place as a whole, especially for atmosphere and drinks but I think I could kind of pass on food with so many better options around... Do want to mention that we had excellent service though which is always a huge bonus;-) read more

This is a fun place to hang out either for drinks or for their specialty nights with a lively atmosphere and fast service, even when the place gets packed. The tall wooden stools can be a little unkind to the backside, but partake in their ample beer menu and you'll forget about it. Also, I strongly recommend their extensive menu of mules. The Kentucky mule is a boubon-based mule, served in that cold little copper cup, and it is exceptional. They have a reasonable selection of food, although it is a little weak on veggie options. There is a delicious portobella mushroom sandwich on the menu, as well as some salads. The fries are excellent. My friends have also given big thumbs up to the burgers and sandwiches. The trivia used to be one of the best in town, but I have some reservations. It is gratingly slow in between rounds, and the host used an ethnic slur the last time I went. Third time there with the same reproducible results of awful service. Same server each time. Last night as he approached our table to take our order he immediately looked at his watch (7:45 PM) to see if they were still serving. As before, very put out that we weren't ready to order our food. When we were finally ready he was super grumpy and put out. We arrived a little after 5pm and we're greeted by Riley behind the bar. She is super sweet and friendly. It's a little slow in here but they have games and live music. We ordered the Oh My Gouda and the Courthouse Pretzels. They made the wrong burger so we ate the fries and pretzels while we waited. They pretzels were AMAZING! best we've ever had. Super soft and flavorful. Then we got word that they again messed up our burger. We are HUNGRY, so we waited for it. I came here on a Saturday night and this place is a hidden gem in Spokane ! This place has great food and plenty of spirit and beer options. I ordered the backyard burger with sweet potato fries and it was a bit salty but overall it was tasty and would probably get it again. The fun thing about this place is that you can have drinks and food with your friends and there are also table games that you can play. A group of us had a blast drinking and playing cards against humanity and connect four. When the weather is nice they have outdoor seating you can hang out in and play outdoor games like corn hole. This was my first time trying Poutine (French fries with brown gravy and cheese curds). I like to try foods that are new to me, but I didn't expect to like this because I'm not a fan of brown gravy. This brown gravy, however, tasted more like French onion soup to me and I couldn't get enough. My husband ordered the street noodles and they were okay--if not very interesting--for the most part, but some of the bites were just salty. The Poutine gets 5 stars, the Street Noodles gets 2 stars, and the restaurant gets 4 stars. read more

We really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. When we walked in we were told to sit anywhere. Our server arrived quickly to take drink orders. A few minutes later our server came back to take our food order. He was friendly and efficient. We ordered a Chicken Loco Joe and a Prime Dip. My Chicken was very good and cooked well. Not over cooked and dry like a lot of places. The Prime Dip was okay. There was too much bread on the hoagie roll. The flavor was good though. Good atmosphere and attentive staff. The Carolina BBQ sauce on this sandwich has turned my little world upside down in just one visit. This sandwich has enough kick to bust a hole in some drywall and enough pizzazz to put Jazz Hands to shame. It's a simple looking sandwich but means a whole lotta business. I always scoffed at poutine. I'm from Montana. We do gravy fries. They are delicious. "Why mess up a good thing with cheese curds? I don't trust those Canadians!" Anyway, we went to the Backyard on a Sunday during happy hour and Poutine was on special. "I'll just pick those nasty cheese curds out, " I said to my husband. But the cheese curds weren't nasty. They were wonderful. They added an extra dimension to my beloved gravy fries, and one that I am sad to say that I intentionally avoided until now. The mac and cheese was okay. Nothing special. We found our way into this spot about 2 years ago because it was a bar with food in our neighborhood (at the time) and were super impressed with how tasty the food turned out. To date, this is one of our top 3 favorite burgers in town. Also, they have really good sweet potato fries which they serve accompanied by a house made dipping sauce that pushes it over the top (highly recommend!). With such a good beer selection your natural choice may be a burger, but take a risk...try other dishes on the menu. One big standout are the street noodles. Not family friendly. Went to go for lunch at 2:20pm on a Tuesday and were told no one under 21 permitted. Bummer.

I didn't see the dive bar part when I picked this place from the airport. I was a bit worried driving through the neighborhood and unstructured parking. There was unmentionable liter in the parking area. Feeling brave and ready to explore a new town, I went on in. Super friendly attentive service. Female bartender did not come off as rushed yet she was handling it all alone including several tables on the patio. The homemade soup was hearty (stoup) and delicious. Husband ordered the Cuban and we were both happy with our fare. Fantastic local tap offerings. Sadly, I wasn't sticking around long enough to avail myself of the delightful craft cocktail menu. We are lucky enough to live pretty close to this spot and they dish up some great burgers/sandwiches and fries. We have had the prime dip, the backyard burger, and the oh my gouda. My favorite has been the backyard. We have also had the wings which were delicious and can be split so you can try 2 flavors-gotta love that! First time we came in, we had a group of 3, and we sat on the patio and service was extremely slow. We waited a long time for food and then we were served someone else's order. We finally got our food and then someone brought an appetizer to our table that we didn't order. The food was great though! We had the Firehouse, the Tacos and the Bahn Mi, and they were all amazing. Their pretzels and the dip were also very delicious. Second time we came in, we sat inside and service was better. I watched four employees bartend, serve, bus tables and ring people up. I watched them use their hands for ice and garnishes for drinks. I don't understand why one person wasn't bartending and why all 4 were doing all these different tasks. Cuban Sandwich! I'm from Miami. This place has come pretty close! They nailed the bread! Sounds funny but 6 years in Seattle and many sandwiches later not 1 place could even do the bun correctly. So the restaurant made up for my last visit with an invitation back to try again. We came back without mentioning who we were so it wouldn't influence anything. This second time around was way better and I am definitely coming back here. Service was attentive and my burger was not raw this time. If this place seems like your pretty standard locals bar, and I'd say that mostly sums it up. Pretty good food (haven't had a ton from their menu as of yet but will be back), pretty good beer options, rotating draft beers, and several weekly events including trivia and bingo, happy hour, etc. It's a great spot for a group because the tables are huge, and there are some picnic tables or smaller tabletops in the patio outside for nice weather days. Gotta shout out the friendly and helpful staff! Recommended if you're looking for your standard bar/beers/snacks/American food experience. :) Would probably bump up to five stars if they were a bit more unique or if the stood out in some special way, but I feel like it's a good spot and no major complaints. read more
