Since I was in town for the week, I decided to meet up with my best friends and grab a bite to eat. My friend mentioned how great The Backyard Steak Pit was when she tried it years ago so we decided to stop in. Surprisingly, there was about a 15-20 minute wait on a Tuesday evening but the host was very kind and thanked us for being patient. We were seated momentarily. After looking over the menu, I decided on the French Onion Soup as an appetizer, while my friends inquired about the Potato Skins. The server mentioned that their broiler wasn't working and told us she wouldn't recommend us getting the Potato Skins so we opted for the Italian Beef Egg Rolls instead. The soup was pretty good and they said the egg rolls tasted okay. We then proceeded to order our entrees. I decided on the Filet Oscar with red skin mashed potatoes; however, we were told they ran out of mashed potatoes so we decided on the baked potatoes instead. It took about 40 mins from the time we received our appetizers to the time our entrees were brought out but we figured that was due to the business of the restaurant. Unfortunately, our food wasn't very hot when it arrived. The steak lacked a lot of flavor but the crab meat and béarnaise sauce helped it out a lot. Once we were finished, our server brought out one check to the table. When we asked if she could split it for us, she seemed to get a bit flustered and mentioned she would have to figure out who gets what. We helped her divvy out the items (which we were going to do anyway) but her frustration definitely didn't help the overall experience. I hate that this place didn't live up to the expectations that we had. From the broken broiler, to the lack of food options and the server's attitude, I probably won't be returning.

I have been going to Backyard for many years. The restaurant has the feel of the old steakhouses my parents took us to in the 70s. Warmly lit, not too loud, attentive servers. I often order the prime rib rare or a ribeye, trust me, you'll enjoy either. My husband gets the filet. One thing we miss is the pre-COVID salad bar, but the house salad is pretty good, in my opinion. My server, Joe or Joey... it's been a week or so, was very enthusiastic and polite to a tee. I can't remember the last time I've been called ma'am so much in a short period of time! I have absolutely nothing to complain about.... EXCEPT... the dessert tray. I choose the one thing on the tray that sold out. Disappointed, yes. I told the super friendly Joe that he should discount my bill the cost of the two slices of pie. He smiled and laughed, dang. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

We enjoy coming to the backyard steak pit very much! Great steaks, and I love the Ahi tuna as well, the bartenders are great and they make amazing drinks as well. Never disappoints.

Our server, Jenny A, couldn't have been any nicer and so delightful to us. The owner sent over a couple glasses of champaign. What a nice touch!! The atmosphere was tremendous and I felt like I was in Italy. Very modern and it was quite busy for a Thursday early evening. We recommend Destino's for anyone looking for a great night out and excellent dinning. Steve Karno

My husband and I had a reservation on Valentine's night and it felt like our server was trying to rush us out to turn the table. Between sitting down and eating three courses we were in the restaurant for less than an hour. Our server was good though. As far as our food, it was just ok. It looked amazing, and the portions were large, but the actual flavor of the food was just a little bland. Each dish felt like it was missing something. First, they bring you out a fresh loaf of crusty bread but they don't offer any olive oil or butter to dip it in. The bruschetta was missing the balsamic drizzle and also needed more olive oil. The wedge salad was good. The pollo vesuvio was good but was a bit bland, and the short rib raviolis were also a bit lacking. We couldn't really pinpoint what was missing in our entrees, but they were both definitely lacking some sort of seasoning that would have turned them from ok to very good. For dessert we got the cannolis. Big mistake. They were the worst cannolis that I have ever had. The shells were absolutely awful- They were very hard and had a bitter, almost chemical taste. The upside was that the filling was good. This restaurant has a lot of potential with a few tweaks to some of the recipes. I'm not sure that we'll be back though, which is disappointing because I really wanted to love it.

When they put the sign up I was so intrigued as to what B&B would be. Much to my delight it was Greek American style! I grew up eating along this specific fault line of American favorites and Greek classics, so I was psyched to see something like that around here. As soon as I saw they were open I had to stop in. They nailed it here. The clean diner concept was friendly and comfortable. The family run business was putting out, for my money, the best gyros anywhere around! Spinach Pie, another classic and another must have. I got one almost every visit. They did a great job with American stuff, and even a few Mexican style dishes too! I'd get the taco meal a lot actually, it was a great hearty meal. The Greek chicken plates and the lemon chicken soup were some of the best here, these guys knew their way around a chicken! There's plenty more I could say, it's been about 3 years after all... this is a big loss on the community. Nothing hits quite like this spot, it had become a go-to for me. Can't decided what to eat today? Go to B&B. Multiple people in the group want different types of food? Go to B&B. Craving something light? Go to B&B. Need a hearty dinner? Go to B&B. Well, now I can't go to B&B anymore. The area is less inviting without them, it's left a massive hole here that likely won't be filled. Trying to buck up... I'm wishing the family all the best moving forward! They are still running their Facebook page for the business, with a post saying they will have more information soon. Whatever they plan, I hope to be eating their food somewhere not to far from here in the near future. Goodbye for now, hopefully not sayonara. And thanks for the good times!
