Stopped by after driving the folks to an appointment. Immediately I felt as if I had stepped into a Hallmark movie. The locally owned bagel shop ladies were super friendly. As other people walked in, they were greeted on a first name basis. Two ladies out front were giggling like schoolgirls as they happily chatted over steaming cups of coffee. There were two benches outside with a view of the mountains off in the distance, and the first blooms of spring were present everywhere you looked. I had a french toast bagel with their honey nut cream cheese and a cup of coffee. The bagel itself has to be one of the best bagels I've ever had. Great texture and tasted so very different from your average store-bought bagel. I was so impressed by it that I ended up buying half a dozen to take home. We have officially named this the BEST bagel sandwich shop we've ever been to! We stopped in to this cozy and bright little bagel Im shop a whim while in the area -- the workers were so friendly and gave up lots of recommendations. The menu has "specials" and we of course tried the Lou's special with honey goat cheese, maple bacon, avocado, and egg and the special with cinnamon CC, maple sausage, egg, and sweet onion. Both were fantastic. The bagels were fresh and soft. The perfect bake to be able to actually eat a bagel sandwich without everything spilling everywhere. The coffee was decent and and we were able to add our own cream and sweetener. All in all we loved it and we'd go back! read more

A gem of a place for breakfast or lunch. Bagel sandwiches are delicious and there is no skimping on the ingredients. The staff and owner are very kind and always great you when you walk in. They treat you like you're family. There are a couple tables inside and several outside to enjoy on a nice day. This is a definite stop if you're in the area. read more

This place is super cute! I got one of their cheddar bagels with egg and cheese and spinach and artichoke cream cheese. It was soooo yummy. They have a fun selection of hot and iced coffees. It is a small place so be mindful of that. We sat on the outside where there were a couple tables. We went at 8:30 in the morning so there was not a mad rush. I cannot wait to go back! read more

Experience 1: The one time I got a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel my egg had green spots in it. Let me preface by saying when I first moved to town, I was excited to try this place out. The establishment is located in a solid spot, and is conveniently down the road from my house but I would never go back and would rather make the drive to Rices Fruit Farm. Experience 2: I asked for an iced macchiato (unknowingly they only served regular iced and hot coffee). I was immediately made to feel like an idiot for asking for such. The older lady (assuming she is the owner but unsure), responded back to me with a chuckle, "we don't sell those types of drinks here".. (and she wasn't even the one who was taking my order). That's fine if you don't want to make the effort to add variety to your menu. But don't laugh at me and make me feel stupid. It just wasn't a warm, genuine experience. read more

I had a racist incident with the (presumed) owner of the Bagel Nook; I went with my friend a few days ago, and the woman at the register says to my friend: "Oh, are you English? You just have that perfect English skin." Then turns to me and says plainly "What do you want." As an Asian man and fellow Hampden resident, I was extremely taken aback at the blatant encounter. I like this place it is warm, inviting; the staff is efficient and very friendly. As the name suggests, it's all about bagels, nice fresh variety of excellent quality bagels with an assortment of creamcheese with other interesting toppings and bagel sandwich ingredients. Stopped in a couple times when it doesn't look too busy. Small place, couple tables, mostly a local hangout. Maybe six or eight different bagel breakfast sandwich combos. Beverages seem to be mostly based on coffees. If your into tea, this is not the place to go. Stopped in a couple days ago. It was very hot outside, and they had the door open with no AC on, and the staff looked like they were dying. That was kind of a put off, and so was the flies flying around inside with the door open. Prices are decent. Staff is friendly, but seem very rushed. It bothers me to see no staff using gloves, even though there is a box of gloves literally right in front of them. Bagels are taken from big bags in the back, so I doubt they are made there. I did see them pull some freshly baked muffins out of an oven. Sandwiches are good, but not enough to make me a regular. read more

First time visiting. Stopped on my way into work. The ladies at the counter where very pleasant and cheerful. I got an everything bagel with cream cheese. It was still warm from the oven. Over all not bad, a but chewey, but good flavor. Will go back and try it again. read more

Yay! There are new owners! I was at the vet's office next door and decided to to try it again. I vowed that if the lady yelled at me I would walk out the door and never go back. I'm here from MV for Easter, and I thought for breakfast I would go down the street like I used to when I lived here. I loved my bagel. I go a plain bagel with egg,cheese, and avocado, which is a classical favorite of mine. I was more than satisfied. The bagel was well cooked, the egg was well done (and I can be really sensitive to undercooked eggs so I am very cautious) and the cheese was gooey and heavenly. I have been stopping in fairly recently and have had good service. Everyone seems very pleasant. It is a small place so if there are a couple of people ahead of you it takes a few minutes but not bad. They make the best homemade cream cheese. I like combining flavors and particularly like the chive and jalapeno together. Today I purchased some slices of blueberry and cranberry orange bread/cake/loaf and brought them to work. My co-workers all enjoyed them. If would give them a try. read more

The breakfast sandwich eggs are scrambled mad microwaved as a fried egg would probably be better but still tasty non the less. Only one star due to the attitude of the woman behind the counter. She is always rude, always is rushed and swearing. I feel like every time I get bagels it's my fault I ordered something. Like its me that's stressing her out. If she put a smile on her face and kept her language PG rated I would go here far more often than I do.
