Have been coming here every weekend during the summer for years as a treat for the kids after swim lessons. Every summer when we come back, after having been away for the entire school year, the staff remembers us and could not be more welcoming. At this point, my kids know Jake by sight, and ask for Aliso Coffee and Donuts specifically. The service isn't just friendly, these guys run a tight ship. I remember coming back after the new owners bought the shop, seeing the young folks running the operation, and assuming the service might be a little sloppy; but that ended up being completely unfounded, as these kids clearly take pride in the work they do. This was the best cinnamon roll I've had so far. The glaze was excellent; almost like the clear protective coating on pottery fresh out of a kiln. But this was no pinch pot. It held up to the heat of my fingers without instantly melting everywhere. It wasn't overly rich either; it did more than just sweeten the roll. The outside had a slight crispness while the inside stayed soft and perfect. Setup is your typical doughnut shop but fairly big on the inside; with some outdoor seating. However the staff, those people are high on life man, it's like if you combined ChicFilA with Trader Joe's employees. Just their energy and hype makes me want to buy more doughnuts haha. A donut shop that has no maple bars on a Sunday morning..... I would like to start there. As I stood in line for about minutes ( did not have my phone for proof/ photos) of the sad looking options or empty racks. It's 10am. I tried to figure out at least 2 options. This alone was hard. No donut holes either ? Really they have no real selection you'd be hard pressed to get a dozen different good donuts to go. Other options were taxed and wack. The Coffees no better than the gas station next door sitting in a pot and 2x the price. Bagels are basic/ plain. No cinnamon, raison or blueberry no flavors other than plain or plain. You can pay extra for butter or plain cream cheese. Fine example of what donut shops are now compared to then. At the end you'll pay near $10 be asked for a tip by a lame teenager who thinks they are being funny with customer and get 2 donuts and small drink. This spot has earned my 1 star review. Went to this doughnut shop a few times to grab burritos and doughnuts with my friend who loves this place. The staff is super friendly and I just love the general feel-good feeling I get when I come in here. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and they made sure to double-check my pick-up order to ensure everything was correct. It tends to get busy, especially around 8 AM or on school days, since it's close to Aliso Niguel HS. The doughnuts are great and I especially love their breakfast burritos and the homemade salsa. This used to be my favorite donut shop. The guy at the counter borderline snapped at me while I was ordering and was not friendly at all. For such a short experience, it was definitely not a sweet one. I thought to myself, "hey give this guy a break maybe he's not happy because it's Valentine's Day...some people don't enjoy holidays!"
