Adorable spot about a block up from the waterfront. Used to be the original pharmacy and post office. Used to be a stop along the street car route that is now a street. Fascinating history which is explained on the menu. The restaurant itself is also a museum of sorts, with every item inside having some connection to its prior lives. We ordered the eggs benedict and the avocado toast. The only reason not five stars is that both were somewhat bland. Expected a bigger burst of flavor for both. Fun to have the option of ordering from the soda fountain (after 11 am only). You can sit at the bar or at tables inside or outside. There is free two hour parking up and down the road. Staff was incredible. So friendly and amenable to every circumstance. Would go back just for the staff.

Historic, near the waterfront, sweet, charming, super friendly staff. Full breakfast and lunch menus and a soda fountain. They have a bit of merchandise and a few bakery items for purchase. It has good vibes and reminds me of happy times. Had the daily special of mashed potato cakes. Memories of Mom. Great bacon! Again, super nice people and service.

To start, The Bair is very cute and quaint. We really enjoyed the aesthetic at The Bair and it felt very homey. We ordered basic breakfasts but they were good. I loved how crispy the bacon was. The one downside and the reason it's not five stars is it took an extremely long time to receive our food. The restaurant didn't seem too busy and based on the fact that we ordered very basic meals, I was not expecting to wait the amount of time we did for the food. We were also only checked on once during our meal, and again, the restaurant is not large so I was a bit surprised by that. All in all, I think we may be back but it is not our first choice for a breakfast spot.

Such a quaint little restaurant tucked in the old Hardware Store located on the Main Street through Steilacoom. The service is exceptional, the menu has a variety of options for breakfast and lunch. We have been there many times for breakfast and have enjoyed the food. Today my husband had the steak, egg, and potatoes while I had the spiced chicken scramble made into a burrito. We will definitely return!

Local favorite with classic brunch type food daily. The decor is a bit of a living museum dating back to the 1800's. The servers are kind and knowledgeable about the menu options. Food can be a bit bland. Nothing a dash of salt of sprinkle of gravy, hollandaise sauce or egg yolk can't improve. Sausage was good but food was average on this trip.

Loved this place so much. I ordered Latte only- didn't know this is a brunch place. We were there for Soda fountain and ice cream- old times treat. But the fountain is broken. It will be back in a few months. Service was excellent. My latte was superb! Great atmosphere. Great customer service. Will back soon for brunch !

The ambiance was very quaint and the service was fantastic. The food was yummy and my friends enjoyed their meals as well.

We had to wait very briefly to be sat. There are limited tables and it's a popular spot. This is not my first rodeo here, and it's been a minutes since visiting but this is my first review... unfortunately. The staff were all friendly and constantly on the move. We were ordering 2 mimosas and the person taking the order said that a carafe was $24 so it's cheaper. The carafe is $29, I can deal with a $5 difference and we all flub things up at times. Our food came and smelled great. The Benedict was cold; the omelette piping hot. Again, it happens it was just disappointing. No one stopped by until we were done eating to ask if we needed anything and then left. The person bussing tables came to take our dishes and they graciously went to request our bill. We weren't sure if we go up front to pay and someone else helped us. It was a bit confusing and we weren't sure if it's a group effort or what but we never saw the person we ordered with except to drop the bill. Overall it left a meh for us. Will I come back? Probably. Will I go out of my way to make my way here? Maybe not. But they're definitely a busy spot and popular in Steilacoom.

Very slow service, excellent breakfast. Come when you're not in a hurry and you'll be fine. If you are on a schedule you'll be frustrated.

Food was eh. Not worth the price. Okay service. But honestly the food wasn't good. No flavor and too much salt.

Everything was tasty, affordable and with incredible views. It sweeps down across the golf course and down the Sound. After a short time, the server came to out table and took out drink orders. I chose the Bloody Mary first and then the Margarita after. The bloody Mary had an awesome piece of bacon and two olives. The drink however was weak in the vodka department. I wasn't impressed with the drink at all. The margarita was actually better and was served in a clay glass. This was really nice because it kept the margarita cold and the ice did not melt fast like it does in a glass. I definitely have to get a set of the clay glasses for home. The appetizers we ordered were the flatbread, some calamari, fried pickle spears, and some peach and cold cut stuff on bread (I don't remember what it was called). The fried pickle spears were great! The other stuff were not impressive at all (for me). The only way I can explain my dissatisfaction is that they. Could be great appetizers, but in their attempt to be fancy, they added something that just ruined the flavor of the dish. I've been here before for lunch in the past and had the burger, and it was okay, but nothing to rave about. My second visit here was my attempt to give it a second chance. The view from the outdoor seating is spectacular. The Puget Sound and the treeless golf course makes it a great place to watch the boats and golfers. There is no shade, so wear a hat if visiting outside seating.. I can't say that everyone will have my experience here. Is this restaurant worth a try? Yes, it is worth a try if here playing golf or find yourself in the area. I just wouldn't go out of my way to dine or have drinks at this restaurant. The Tacoma and surrounding area have much better restaurants at more reasonable prices.

The breakfast was very good - particularly the hashbrowns, which were among the freshest and most uniquely prepared that I've ever enjoyed - and the personalized friendly service was second to none. Rest assured that, if only based on the breakfast I very much enjoyed, that wait will be well worth it. Hungry? Go here! You won't be disappointed!

Well, I've had the club sandwich which she said was very good and I'll tell you what happened from the looks of it it was definitely good. I had the pastrami Benedict, I will say that that missed the mark. There are two reasons that really miss the mark. One of them was the hollandaise sauce, which was extremely runny and a very pale yellow, which told me that they added too much liquid to it, and there wasn't enough fat or it was just a powdered mix and they over mixed it, and it had no flavor to it. The main reason I was disappointed was the pastrami they used, they used deli, sliced pastrami and chopped it up. If you're going to have a pastrami Benedict on your menu, make sure it's actual pastrami chunks and it is tender. The deli pastrami did not have any flavor to it. I asked our server about it and she said that one of the other girls that worked there really liked it and she ate it all the time, but it was too spicy for her. I will tell you right now. There was literally no spice to that dish at all nor was there seasoning. I would go back and try something different as everything else on the menu looks good and I give every breakfast restaurant at least two tries.
