My husband had an appointment in Pasadena within 2 hours. We needed a quick bite and go. The lunch crowd was just starting but the line moved steadily. We were in and out within an hour. The service wasn't anything out of the ordinary nor the food considering their self serve set up.

It's been years since I've seen Madeleine... oh how I've missed you girl!! Super busy at 1228p so I got some bonbons to go. Chocolate almond croissants, creme brule and a fruit tart The almond croissants were delish; my fav. Fruit tart yummy. Creme Brule... without the candied topping, it was just creme. Wouldn't get it again

First time here, thought was a cute and yummy place for lunch. Servers were friendly. They give you a lot of food for the price. My chicken salad croissant was yummy and the Caesar salad was also delicious. Will definitely be returning to try more items.

A great find while we were visiting the area. Food was amazing and the interior was warm and cozy on an abnormally cold day in Texas. Food came to us fresh and hot and delicious. All staff were helpful and friendly.

I have always enjoyed their food here! Staff is super friendly and greet you at the door. A lot of great French dishes in my opinion. The wife and I enjoy coming to this place it's our go to spot when we're craving pasta. They also have really good chicken sandwiches as well. Come show your support in you're in the Bay Area

I love la Madeline, I've never had a bad experience at any location. I have not been in awhile. Just met a friend for an afternoon snack and cup of coffee. I ordered a chocolate almond croissant and it was delicious and fresh, the coffee was fresh and good. It was pretty crowded (which is a good sign) it's very homey and comfortable inside. There is a counter in the from for bakery and Togo items and the regular line to order food from, kinda like cafeteria style where you get in line and order with your tray and move along. Beverages are mostly self serve. Service was friendly and quick and they stayed on top on getting tables cleaned. I definitely recommend this place.

Easy and fast place for takeout!! If you sign up to be a member, you can choose between a few sweet treats!! The lemone madeline was so light and fluffy, and the butter croissant was flakey and rich! They brough out the orders really fast and with a great attitude!! Would highly recommend visiting

The cookie was baked to soft perfection. I went with a friend who thankfully knew to join the waitlist about an hour before we planned to arrive, which made the wait very manageable. Had we not known that important little tip, we probably would've been waiting close to an hour. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience, and I'd definitely go back again.

Let me preface this review by stating that I have been to this establishment multiple times & had…read moreglowing, amazing service each time. However, my last experience with this establishment left a horrible taste in my mouth. Therefore, I am giving them an extra star for the previous experiences. On May 17th, 2026, my best friend and I had been looking forward to coming to Water Oak all day and had our taste buds set for the occasion. We were famished and had quite a day up until arriving. Upon entering the restaurant, we were very briefly greeted by the a Hispanic man who I assume is the manager and told that they were "no longer seating for the day". I glanced around and saw that every table inside WAS seated, however there were many tables outside that were empty. I asked about the patio stating that us where we preferred to sit anyway, and was met with that they were also not seating the patio at all for the rest of the day. However, there was a group of 3 women seated outside on the patio at that exact time. I didn't say anything, simply turned and left. After having "one of those days" hashing out something so minute with a person who clearly didn't want us in their place of business was not something I was about to do. Keep in mind, we came on a Sunday afternoon. Prime brunch time. We arrived at the restaurant around 2:30PM, and their website says they don't close until 4PM. I am a biracial black woman and my friend is white. I noticed a significant amount of White and Latino patrons, but a shocking lack of Black people. With Houston having one of the most diverse populations in the US, it is almost impossible not to see at least one individual of each ethnicity in a place at any given time. I am definitely not one that likes to pull the race card, because oftentimes that is not the issue. However, as someone who is familiar with the service industry I understand Sundays can be extremely overwhelming. And I am cognizant that not everything is that serious. But, I am also aware that a lot of people in the industry discriminate against people of color, with stigmas that we don't leave enough gratuity or we "don't fit the vibe of their establishment". And those 3 women seated on the patio? All White. After reading recent reviews, it seems that management is discriminating against people of color, more specifically Black folks. This is an extremely disheartening and sickening realization to make, seeing as I have given well over $1,000 worth of my money here but also enjoyed many meals without issue. To management: It breaks my heart to have to write this review and to be honest, I wouldn't have written it if I hadn't seen others posting about similar experiences in addition to also feeling discriminated against. I highly suggest that if you are "not seating" after a specific time, you announce this via social media or alert potential patrons with a sign or something of the sort. & obviously, there is such an issue with treatment towards POC that it is a noteworthy problem via your Google & Yelp reviews. You will have a much bigger fish to fry on your hands if you continue to let this issue go on unrectified. I would be willing to return if I felt things were to be changed for the better in the future! Hopefully this review sparks a much needed conversation and brings attention to an area which needs work.

Especially not to this location. It seemed like there were issues from the moment I walked in. I was greeted and seated immediately but it took longer than a few minutes for someone to take my drink order. A little while after my drink order was taken, the waiter came back to ask if I was ready to order. I told him I needed a few minutes to look at the menu. I had to wait longer than a few minutes while the waiter had a full blown conversation with a gentleman who was seated next to me so that was a little annoying. Anyway, when the waiter came back I asked for the farmhouse hash with no meat. He confirmed with me more than once on how I wanted my eggs. I said scrambled eggs when I received my plate, the eggs were poached so it was sent back and corrected. I ate my meal. It wasn't that good and I noticed a few small pieces of meat in the hash but I didn't send the plate back since I didn't notice it until I was halfway through with the meal. When I was done, I asked for the check and for some reason, I was charged twice for the hash so I tell the waiter, he apologizes and corrects the bill. Idk.. I've never had an experience like this at first watch but it was enough for me to not want to go back. At the time I drove into Houston to find dark chocolates so I was thrilled to see Tifa had opened up nearby and I bookmarked it to try out as soon as I had a chance. My birthday is today so as a treat to myself I grabbed my cousin and she came with me to try out Tifa after dinner. It was perfect. Plenty of parking as it's near a bunch of great dining spots. It's bright and smells amazing inside and you're greeted warmly with kind words and the biggest most beautiful smile from the owner as you walk in. I was overwhelmed from viewing all the amazing things they had on their website so I went in with a game plan, chocolates/truffles only and taste test the gelato. My cousin surprised me by buying my 7-piece chocolate box which included an eggnog dark chocolate truffle, peppermint bark chocolate, dark chocolate pumpkin, wild strawberry dark chocolate, tiramisu dark chocolate, raspberry dark chocolate, and an amaretto milk chocolate. I also grabbed an Element rose cardamom dark chocolate bar. The owner securely kept our chocolates for us at the register and we moved forward to join the gelato line to try all the gelato samples we wanted. (There was no line at all when we first arrived I should add). I tried several of the gelatos. All were amazing. My favorites were the stracciatella and Casablanca bloom. My oh my, they each had the perfect and most incredible blend of flavors. Their lemon gelato was also so refreshing. I'll definitely be back to buy a scoop of each and perhaps with some drinking chocolate over them. I've gotta try that out since I've never had it before. They have so many ways to flavor their drinking chocolates, you start with dark, milk or white chocolate and can add any of their wide assortment of flavors and believe me they have a very wide variety. They also have lattes and such as well. The staff was super kind and helpful.
