I think the Bakers' Table is way over priced for a restaurant where you queue up in a line to order! All of the staff were pleasant. We both had a breakfast burrito. It was just scrambled eggs, shredded cheese, and cut up sausage links rolled into a very large flour tortilla. It may have had finely shredded hashed browns but I could not tell. The burrito had no real distinct flavor, and was just OK. The burrito was served with a side of fresh fruit. The fruit consisted of blueberries, cut up cantaloupe and pineapple. The fruit was ripe like it should be and tasted good. Each burrito with fruit was $16. I thought with that price I was at an airport. If I had not spent 10 minutes waiting in line I would have left. Oh and no prices were posted on the menu board. They did have a paper menu that may have had prices on it but it was out of reach at the counter. A positive note though, was we bought a cinnamon roll and a flourless chocolate cake to eat later and both were priced right and delicious. I would not buy breakfast here again but would come back for their baked goods. read more

Delicious! We were passing by heading north after leaving Santa Barbara and looked up breakfast spots on the way. Baker's Table was one of the choices and so glad we made the stop! This is my first time to this restaurant. I ordered the corned beef hash. It came out in a very timely manner but both of the eggs that were on top of the hash were overcooked and hard. I waited 7 minutes for them to return with the eggs and when I received them, one of the eggs was cooked correctly in the other one was cooked hard again. The corned beef hash itself is made up of chunks corned beef which overall are a little tough and bland for corned beef. The rest are small white potatoes cut in half with chunks of bell pepper. My favorite kind of corned beef hash is a corned beef hash of potatoes onions and corned beef of course. But it's all the ingredients together that make a corned beef hash so good whether bell pepper is added or other ingredients. In this case, it tastes like a plate of meat, Bell pepper, and potatoes that don't really meld together like I'm eating a plate of separate items. The coffee is very good. The food was excellent. Why the 3 stars? We got there at 2pm and they were already closing up the outside tables and chairs (even though they didn't close for another 30 minutes), my boyfriend even said "are you sure this place is still open?" We went inside and it was clean and well put together. The menu was on the pricier side for the decor and ambiance, but it came highly recommended on Yelp do we wanted to try it. He ordered a Reuben, I ordered a Nicoise. The older woman taking our order had a negative attitude, and was borderline rude (and by that I mean she was hot and cold). She was there to serve us food and it felt like we were imposing on her time. At first I thought it was just us, but then we quickly realized it was just her "thing," a potential customer called and she was really rude on the phone because she couldn't hear them. I really wanted to order a cappuccino but part of me though "maybe I should just go somewhere else and give my money to a place with better attitude." Our food came and it was amazing. My Niçoise salad was simple and the ingredients were fresh and I can't rave enough about how great and delicious the food was. My suggestion to Yelpers, order your food To Go, and picnic on one of the many parks around the Santa Ynez Valley. There is parking right outside. The bathrooms are spotless clean. The food was delicious and of high quality, and the service was good. We had two sandwiches for lunch (the special) which was like an Italian sub - my husband loved it. I had the turkey and Brie sandwich. It was excellent. The problem with turkey is that often it dries out too much, but not in this case. We also had chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Because we like our sweets we took a chocolate croissant and a pumpkin muffin home. We had them for breakfast after putting them in the toaster oven and they were exquisite. Five f-bomb stars! And an exclamation point to boot. I rode my motorcycle out from Carpinteria, explored Foxen Canyon, and on my way back the Bakery Gods guided me to The Baker's Table. I have been ever thankful since. I was not worthy of their Green Mountain Coffee and apricot almond croissant. After devouring this tasty treat, I felt I needed to sacrifice something. Luckily I had a speeding ticket I could offer to the Gods. The staff is friendly, their Covid-19 protocols are spot on, and their bread is freshly made. I am giving them 2 stars because I have been here for lunch several times and the food is usually good. The service is usually ok too. We went for breakfast today. To start with my mom is 89 y/o and doesn't hear well. Of course it took a little longer to place our order and a line started to form. The annoyance that the cashier showed was very obvious. They are never overly friendly, just not hostile. Then I ordered huevos rancheros with hash browns. Breakfast came and there it was with what looked like a pile of canned black beans, no hash browns. Apparently, they were out. I asked to revise my order because I'm not especially fond of black beans and it isn't breakfast without hash browns.. So I ordered chilaquiles. When the order came out I swear it was a pile of tortilla chips out of a bag with canned red enchilada sauce poured over it and just a speck of queso. I eat fresh bread and pastries from Bakers Table all over town and decided to try the spot so many of my favorite places source their baked goods from. It looks like they recently expanded to the store front next door and really opened things up. This place seemed really big and kind of empty (it was early on a Sunday so I imagine it can get busy). The staff was patient and really nice that I took forever to decide on what to eat. Their baked goods looked good and I couldn't decide, but I ended up going with a croissant and a piece of chocolate cake and later went back for a blueberry muffin. All three were great, a little early for that rich cake for me though. We also had the corned beef hash which was out of this world I would highly recommend trying it! Food is good but the attitude is a little weird. No eye contact or typical customer service you might expect from a customer service company. I thought it was because I bring my kids with me that they were unfriendly but I read other reviews and realized it's just they way they think you deal with customers. Having realized that, it's good to know that it's not personal, it's just business as usual. "No soup for you!" One lady claimed that other customers looked at her because she was in an interracial relationship but they give us the same look and it has nothing to do with being conservative or racist (those two aren't intentionally related by me), I think it's just the weird vibe of the place. Awesome little place. Took me a couple attempts to find it, but that is my problem not theirs. I only tried their pastries, but they were quite excellent. A bit pricey, but you are paying for the location and the freshness, I do not mind since we lack quality in this valley full of tourist traps. The whole place is very clean and tidy and whatever was cooking for lunch smelled amazing, so I will be back another time to give lunch a try. I heard about this lovely establishment from a friend who knows what she's talking about when it comes to food and coffee. I am a huge coffee snob myself, and I love food! I went the bakers table and got an oatmeal cookie and coffee. The coffee was really good... The best I've had in the SYV so far. I liked the cookie a lot, but I'll have to come back for a brownie sometime. They looked wonderful! The bakery reminds me of a real french bakery. It's very clean and pretty, and you can sit down and do some writing or reading while you drink your coffee and eat your lunch. I'm sending this bakery love and light. For context, I was born and raised in France, so I have a pretty high bar for baked goods.
