I am giving this place a two stars for their subpar service, mediocre food and high prices. Let's start with the service. No one greets you with a smile. When we asked if we could have the darker croissants, I believe the "owner" or manager sarcastically said I'm about to put them in the oven. When our bowl of granola arrived, it only had a few blueberries and blackberries on top, unlike the picture on their website full of strawberries and bananas. When I inquired, she said they're not in season. When are bananas NOT in season!?! The food was ok but very over priced!! For instance, a bowl of granolas is $15.50. See photo for yourself. Our first time experience a few years ago was exceptional. This time it's quite a shock how opposite it is. Needless to say, I will not return.

Is there such a thing as a hardcore foodie? I think so, I work with three at the local high school! I raved about The Baker's Table, so we checked it out. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, VG style with hash browns inside the sando, toasted to perfection. It's not on the menu, but they make it special for me. The ladies up front are always so kind, and whenever I see Amy, she greets me with a big smile and a warm hug. As my late wife always preached: Stay local, buy local, farm to table -- and vote with your dollars! This place rocks.

My boyfriend and I wanted to go out for breakfast so we decided to come to The Baker's Table for the first time! Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed was all of the yummy pastries in the display case. Pretty quickly my boyfriend and I agreed to split a Plum Cruffin. I ordered a cafe au lait to drink which turned out to be a generous size! They were very delicious. The cruffin was soft and sweet with a perfect combination of flavors. For entree, my boyfriend and I split two poached eggs on toast. They were admittedly a little plain, I think some hot sauce would've been perfect on top. However, it was perfectly prepared and yummy. Overall, the ambiance of The Baker's Table is really laid back and cute with various options! I'd go back again just to try more of the yummy pastries. If you're thinking about checking it out, go for it!

When in Solvang, CA, consider starting your day with breakfast at The Baker's Table. Don't let the line to order scare you as it moves at a decent pace. Order at the counter, receive a number, and your order is brought to your table (seating is available inside and outdoors). Service was pleasant. What we tried: -Breakfast burrito, which was stuffed with scrambled eggs, sausage, onions, and cheddar cheese. Comes with a side of fruit and some salsa, too. -Croissant sandwich - freshly baked, flaky croissant filled with scrambled eggs and  cheddar cheese. Comes with a side of applewood smoked bacon, too! -Iced mocha latte did the trick and gave me the morning pick-me-up I needed.

Stopped in for lunch and ended up really glad I did. I ordered the Reuben and an iced tea, and both were excellent. The sandwich was flavorful, and the side salad was fresh and well-dressed--simple but done right. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff made the whole experience even better--friendly without being over-the-top. Just a really solid spot for a good meal. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in the area

Picked up breakfast before heading out to the Olive and Lavender farm. Had a lovely picnic with delicious ham and cheese croissants and pastries and coffee. Great Customer Service as always.

This place is deservedly known for their pastries. You'll see plenty of them in their display case when you walk in. They also serve breakfast and lunch. They have an everyday menu on the wall behind the counter and also post daily specials on a blackboard. Order at the counter from the friendly staff and then have a seat in their casual & comfortable dining area; your order will be brought to you. My order: the Breakfast Croissant Sandwich and a hot vanilla latte. My vanilla latte was excellent with a smooth brew and light vanilla flavor. The sandwich was simply an over medium egg sandwiched between a croissant with a side of two strips of smokey, crisp bacon. What made it incredible was the perfect, fresh, flakey-layered, buttery croissant. This was a textbook perfect croissant that was so good I barely remember the bacon or the egg. This place is very dog friendly both inside or on their patio. I really enjoyed the cool relaxed vibe of the place. 4.5 stars rounded up.

Was craving something sweet so we stopped by the bakers table. The pastries seemed to have sold out early which means this is indeed the spot for pastries in Santa ynez. We got lucky to still be able to get a slice of their carrot cake. It was so good each bite I took I kept looking down like how much is left in don't want to finish it haha. Next time we're in town I'll make sure to pop in earlier. Cute and cozy spot with indoor and outdoor seating.

We were impressed with the taste and quality of the food in addition to the customer service. We ended up coming back a second time 30 minutes before they closed at 3pm. She grunted maybe two words to us as if we were bothering her. The kicker was we were sitting outside on a rainy day since we had a dog... this woman locked the door on us. When we went inside, the woman behind the kitchen was again such a sweetheart but jeez, what is up with this cashier. I'm now seeing other reviews with feedback on her too and they also happen to be people of color so I'm really hoping it wasn't racially motivated. Hope the owners see this and can hire someone who isn't a complete sourpuss (or racist at worst ugh).

My sandwich had an overwhelming amount of lettuce, very little chicken salad, almost no flavor, and the bread tasted old and stale. After one bite, I went back to politely let them know. The woman at the register (according to my receipt, Jamie) immediately became defensive, as if I had personally attacked her. She told me they buy the bread and lettuce from the business across the street, which honestly is irrelevant from a customer's perspective. For an $18 sandwich, customers expect freshness, flavor, and quality. When I asked for a refund, her attitude became increasingly rude and hostile. I thanked her and started leaving, but as I walked out she loudly said, "I hope to never see you again," followed by "Don't come here again." I honestly do not know whether Jamie is an employee or the owner, but based on many of the reviews here, this does not seem like an isolated issue. The rude customer service appears to be a consistent pattern, and it is clearly hurting the business.

That's usually a good sign. We also tried the Kobe Sando, which was very tasty as well. The bread was a little firmer than I personally prefer, but it still worked well with the sandwich and didn't take away from the overall experience. We sat outside along the side of the restaurant and really enjoyed the seating area. Inside, the deli is just as interesting. They have displays of aged meats and a walk-in room arcade that feels like a hidden gem. It's a unique touch that adds a lot of character to the space. What really stood out was the staff. We popped in today and were impressed by the huge selection of sandwich options. You can choose from several breads including focaccia, sourdough, baguette, or whole wheat, and then build from a really interesting variety of meats, cheeses, and vegetarian toppings. The cheese selection alone was worth the visit. They offer unique choices like Stilton, horseradish cheddar, and several English cheeses (plus plenty of brie options that work beautifully on their sandwiches). It's not your typical deli lineup, which makes the menu fun to explore. We ordered the half sandwich and half salad combo, which was the perfect portion for lunch. You can also order full sandwiches or full salads, and they offer chips on the side if you want a little crunch with your meal. For dessert we split an ice cream sandwich called "Monkey in the Middle." It had banana ice cream between two soft cinnamon cookies with chocolate hazelnut spread. We shared it four ways and it was the perfect little sweet ending. They also have a nice selection of canned beverages, and there's a water station out front if you just want something simple. Best of all, sitting outside in Los Olivos is such a treat. Great food, lots of creative options, and a relaxed wine-country atmosphere. We'll definitely stop again next time we're in town.

We ordered a Solvang hot chicken sandwich, pastrami smoked salmon sandwich, a kids fried chicken, a glass of Chardonnay, and a local draft craft beer. Everything was delicious and high quality. My hot chicken sandwich had the right amount of juiciness and crispness. The spicy kick was just right as well. The pastrami salmon sandwich was flavorful. It was a different unique take comparable to the lox bagel. Unfortunately my son's kids fried chicken underwhelmed as it only had 1 piece of chicken. It was tasty but lacking in portions size. It wasn't about the ingredients (even the green peppers which I've never seen on an Italian nor leaves of lettuce as opposed to them being shredded). If the dressing were more tangy, I wouldn't say I'd love it but at least crush on it a little so for me, Panino's version was ok.
