Holy carp this is good baked goods! We were passing through and I said to my wife: why is it that Santa Ynez has 3 bakeries that are probably better than 99% of the bakeries in San Diego? Well who cares - SD'd loss is Santa Ynez' gain. I would say the ham and cheese croissant from here is better than the one at Wayfarer in SD which is an amazing place with a truly great ham and cheese croissant. Their coffee drinks are not ideal but perhaps I should have tried one of the many spectacular coffee shops in Santa Ynez and/or Solvang such as Pony Espresso or Good Seed and left these guys to their baked goods which they truly crush. I was limited only by the size of my stomach. read more

We are locals and this is the place we get pastries when we have visitors. We order from the bakery case. I'm embarrassed to say we've never had a full breakfast or lunch here. Bakery items are all spectacular and worth every penny. Staff have always been polite and friendly. read more

Treat yourself, and order something delicious from Amy and the gang and The Baker's Table. From the light and airy dining room to the delicious selections for breakfast and lunch, delectable pastries and desserts, there is really something for everyone here. Sit down and make yourself comfy after ordering at the pastry case, while the staff makes you feel welcome and pampered. Her freshly baked breads are to die for, they'll slice it for you while you wait. Try the fig loaf...oh man it's my FAVE! Everything is so FRESH AND TASTY...it's my favorite place to eat in the Valley. Go early enough to enjoy the specials of the day before they sell out! I gave the lean to 4 because of my misstep in the beginning. Came by for a snack after exploring the area by foot for about an hour. Maybe I was tired from walking in the mildly hot weather as I walked through the exit and went straight to the display case to see what they were offering. After a quick review, I realized that there was a person waiting in line and the floor is marked with waiting spots to adhere to social distancing. I did have a mask on, but obviously I did not follow their procedure. When I stepped back, I then noticed that there is a separate entrance and exit. Oops. The place has a rustic vibe and feels cozy. I got in line and asked for suggestions and received a mostly unenthusiastic response. Maybe because I absentmindedly didn't follow procedure earlier. I chose a slice of a lemon blueberry loaf to go. I was thrilled with the reopening on Sagunto St., and took several friends up there over the last few months. Everything was great. Last time, however, we all experienced, to our horror, that everything we ordered was small. Little bitty plates. My smoked salmon plate, at $18, had about half the fish that it had last time. Never going back. Btw, if ripping off customers in a restaurant is a "thing," I'll simply serve my friends more meals at home. If I were a restaurateur following this trend, I'd be so ashamed that I'd get a job at a drugstore chain or a gas station. Can you descend any further? read more

My wife and I ordered a Turkey and Brie sandwich, a quiche, a lemon croissant and a slice of banana bread all to go. By the time our order was ready they had run out of the lemon croissant (there were three in the display case when I ordered). I love The Baker's Table! The location is great, parking is easy, and the staff are so nice. Whether picking up pastries/bread to go or dining in, you won't be disappointed. It's a great place for breakfast and meeting up with friends, or even taking guests visiting from out of town. Definitely a must go to if you haven't been yet! So when I first moved to SY in 2020..I went to the Bakers table several times. Their food is delicious. And I LOVE their bread! (The funky French one) however, I had an awful experience with the owner one day when I came in on my lunch break from work in my uniform. The dark, curly haired woman (the owner) abruptly stated "What the hell do you want?!" And in hindsight I should have just left. But In my shocked state- I said "lunch". (Note- I am not a sheriff's deputy, however my uniform for where I work looks similar- so not sure if she is anti PD?) I was hungry- and I had only a few moments left to grab something, so I ordered food- but I had boycotted (i went to bobs well bred if I wanted fancy bread) the restaurant until yesterday 01/07/23. The new location is great. The food is still great. I don't love that the prices are NOT posted on the chalkboard menu- but expect to pay approx. $20 a person for a breakfast item and a coffee. It's pricey for what it is. It remains to be seen if I ever go back in any sort of uniform how I will be treated. And if I get the same treatment from the owner as I did in 2020, I won't be as quiet as I was about it. That sort of behavior is unacceptable, regardless if you personally support law enforcement or not. The place gets three stars. A star was taken for the bad experience in 2020 A star was taken for the price of the food and the lack of visible pricing on the menu. Service is okay but nothing to rave about. read more

I am not a restaurant critic. I just pretend to be one on Yelp. ;). You could just say Chocolate Espresso Cookies and be worthy of giving TBT a 5. It's more than that though. The owner, Amy, is a rockstar and she has created an amazing artisan bakery. I have not been here since they expanded the dining area and I was very impressed. Very open area now. Our first time there and it's a shame that we live almost 400 miles away. For a lunch stop during our travels we had the most amazing Ruben sandwich with a side salad and perfect espresso coffees. I think the high reviews must be for the baked goods. We went to The Baker's Table for lunch upon arriving in Santa Ynez. Close to 2pm (30 minutes before closing), they were out of several sandwiches. I got the very last turkey and brie and my bf had to get the tuna nicoise. The sandwiches were fine, but nothing special and for $30+ not really worth it. I do like that it was warm and toasted and the cheese was melted.. making it almost like a panini.. but it was just turkey, chese, and brie. My bf's open faced tuna was really just a pile of tuna.. he didn't even eat the slice of bread. Don't get me wrong, we were totally satisfied with our meal, it was just wasn't anything special despite the prices. Something to note: this is a very conservative spot. When we walked in, I immediately felt uncomfortable. I don't know what it was about us, but I could feel the eyes on us the whole time that we were there. I don't know if it's because I'm Asian, or because my bf's not, or because I was wearing not-so-conservative cut off shorts, but wow. I thought I was maybe being overly paranoid but as soon as we left, my bf made a comment about how uncomfortable he felt in there. Place is really cute, easy parking, a lot of social distancing measures and safety protocols, everyone masked. Clean restroom. We got the tuna melt and the turkey brie sandwiches, each came with simple side salads, all very straightforward and tasty. We went on a Thursday during lunchtime and there were 4-5 people in line ahead of us. Staff was a little flustered while I was there - they might have been understaffed and it appeared that customers had a lot of questions/requests. But they were friendly when I got to the counter to order and thanked me for being patient, which was nice. Food took about 15 minutes. They have tables on a covered porch, which looked cute, but we don't feel super comfortable eating that closely to others, so we just went 2 minutes down the road to the local park and had our food at a shady picnic table, which was lovely. read more

This recently renovated café/coffee shop was already a hit with Locals and visitors alike. Now, they have added much needed space to handle the influx of customers. Recently, my monthly lunch group visited this restaurant. We were very pleased not only with the food but the great new space. It is light and bright inside with a nice view. We each had something different. I had the almost Reuben sandwich with salad. My friends had the cobb salad and the ham panini. Every item was delicious. We usually have their wonderful quiche but it was sold out. You can't go wrong with this lovely place whether you choose the wonderful baked goods or other items on the menu. A Santa Ynez MUST TRY!!! The Baker's Table has some of the best pastries I have ever tried (I am a baker myself and have tried A LOT!) Everything is made so thoughtfully and with such quality. Some of my favorite things would have to be their lemon ginger scone, carrot cake, lemon tart, and brownie cookie. I love that they change it up and do seasonal pastries. It is also a wonderful spot for breakfast! I always get their breakfast croissant sandwich that has scrambled eggs & cheese on a fresh buttery croissant with bacon. It's simply amazing. I was pregnant when we first moved to the Valley and couldn't wait to try their other breakfast sandwich that has prosciutto and a runny egg on it- oh my god, it is SO ridiculously good. The Baker's Table also has really good coffee/espresso. Even the decaf! I get iced decaf mochas, and it is one of my favorite decaf mochas I have ever had. They also have amazing bread they make in house, and thankfully even sell it at local grocery stores. So make sure to grab loaf of sourdough for your freezer! The interior is adorable, the food is amazing, and the pastries are just incredible- my family is always stumped why their isn't a line out the door here everyday like at Bob's Well Bread! (If you had to pick between the two- the Baker's Table is MUCH better!) This is such a charming local spot, and a definite must try. :) read more

I have never had better service than when I went to Bakers Table. I had recently moved to the valley and was looking for place to eat with a few of my girlfriends. We ended up going to Bakers Table where we met our server Sebatian, He was so kind and polite. He kept tabs on us at all times, and always kept our coffees full. He made sure we were enjoying our food, and was waiting on us hand and foot. Even when though it was very busy, he always made sure we were enjoying our food. 10/10 would recommend. read more

The cinnamon croissant is by far the best croissant I've ever had! My husband loves the chocolate croissant. If you plan on getting a croissant from here, I would suggest to go early! The new location on Sagunto opened today! Just stopped by to check out the beautiful new space. If you're living in or visiting Santa Ynez Valley and have a clue, you will definitely visit the new edition of this SY classic. BTW this is where the fantastic baked goods at your favorite area restaurant come from. Best croissants, cookies and muffins around. Sandwiches and salads are great. And...maybe even spot a celebrity or two while you enjoy great service and ANYTHING they make with chocolate. Cooking fanatics: if you peek through the windows on the swinging doors at the back, you'll see their awesome state of the art bakery and kitchen at work. My hot chicken sandwich had the right amount of juiciness and crispness. The spicy kick was just right as well. The pastrami salmon sandwich was flavorful. For the festival, streets were shut down but you'll typically find parking on the street, or in the nearby lots. Nice thing is that they're free too. At least the ones I've parked at. Panino isn't a full service restaurant. Order at the counter and wait for your order to be brought to your table, or for your name to be called if it's to go. Your order includes your drinks up front so if you want something else, get back in line and order again. Inside the shop, there's seating for about five/six people. Most were sitting outside. Your order is brought to you outside too if you're wondering. I ordered me a Half/Half. Half sandwich (Italian) and a half salad (Caprese) See pics. I enjoyed the salad. I was craving it so it hit the spot. The mozzarella cheese and fresh greens. The sandwich, I liked, but didn't love. It wasn't about the ingredients (even the green peppers which I've never seen on an Italian nor leaves of lettuce as opposed to them being shredded). If the dressing were more tangy, I wouldn't say I'd love it but at least crush on it a little so for me, Panino's version was ok. I wouldn't order it again knowing what I know but if someone shared a half with me, I wouldn't turn it down. Anyway, there's a long list of sandwiches on the menu. I'd definitely try other items on the list as well as checking out their other locations.

My daughters and I wanted to play cupcake wars , so we decided to try bakers table since one of my daughters friends works there....we ordered three different items to all try....let me tell you....from the second we walked in the door the service was fabulous!! The Bakers table is the best bakery in Santa Barbara County. I used to run a food truck and we used their delicious buns, and their baked goods are just killer. Amy, the owner is a saint and truly cares about the quality of their food. The maple oat scone is on another level, and their oatmeal cookies are chewy and delicious.
