the pistachio donuts are the best thing on earth
    Jen F.

I absolutely love the Baklava lady!! They are a fully vegan establishment and they show up with amazing flavors. Their baked goods are out of this world. They also have gluten free options which are great. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. It is a very small establishment so there can often be a wait for a table. My favorite meal is the kofte wrap. The flavors and combination of veggies and vegan "sausage" are some of the best out there. They can also substitute a gluten free wrap for those with dietary restrictions and they take allergies seriously. The breakfast board is also a great tasty option to get a bit of variety with olives, vegan cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a pita-like bread. For the baked goods, the menu changes by the day so there's always new things to try. They will sometimes have donuts which are my absolute favorite when they are in stock. My favorite baked goods in their rotation are the pistachio donut and the pistachio rose cake. They also do custom cakes if you are ordering for an event.

I love this place! It's my favorite cafe of all time and i can't recommend it enough! It's only open fridays and weekends but it's usually a bustling place with limited seating (though that's only because it can get busy around lunch time)! This turkish cafe makes absolutely DELICIOUS food, ive ordered almost everything on the menu and nothing has ever disappointed! Highly recommend the turkish breakfast board if you're dining in and to browse the baked goods area for what's new. They change up the menu every few weeks so there's always something exciting on the specials menu or in the display case. Also, you'll never get a better pistachio matcha latte than you can get here The staff is so nice and very prompt in serving and cleaning up to make the ambiance of this place feel quaint and cozy for every guest and help you get seated as soon as possible. Literally cannot recommend this place enough!!!!! It's perfect!!!!!

This is hands down the best vegan food in the area! The place was packed as usual and service was phenomenal. I got so much food the table was crowded! Every bit was devoured. I love the chickpea tuna always get it. The steak stew special was sold out! My daughter commented how hipster the place was and called it a diamond in the rough! I concur!

We stepped up to the counter and ordered the daily special of Lentil Soup that came with slices of delicious homemade bread and had what I believe was a light coating of olive oil and spices that complemented the homemade soup made from scratch that was as good as my Nonna's soups, my gold standard . We also ordered avocado toast, which was scrumptious. For dessert we ordered the pistachio latte with pistachio baklava: both were sublime. We also ordered the orange cupcake that had rose petals sprinkled on top, which was amazing, and very tasty Turkish coffee, which came in a tiny espresso cup and came with a Turkish confection sprinkled with chopped pistachios. The ambiance is eclectic Turkish tea room, and it is warm and homey. I overheard a fellow patron say it is like Cheers, where everyone knows your name. It is a destination definitely worth going to on a road trip through New Jersey, and I will return.

Cozy and certainly small bakery/coffee shop to enjoy some amazing bakery goods and their wide assortment of coffees and teas. They are well known for their vegan goods, especially their baklavas. The atmosphere is fairly quiet with limited seating, so sometimes it may be hard to dine in. They have a bench with few seats and couple tables at most. Super friendly staff that took care of you and even come up to take away your dishes when you're finished eating. They have one unisex small bathroom, but kept very clean, so well done for maintaining their facilities. The only down side is parking. It is limited, there is a small lot in the back, but you might end up parking on the street.

Alright let talk about this spot. Only open Friday through Sunday, super tiny inside, but has some seating outside. Parking is a challenge at best. Ambiance was pleasant and inviting. Service was very nice and friendly. Pricy yes. Now on to the food, lots of options, very tasty and authentic. The baked goods are the stars of the show, definitely try the Simit and grab a few to go. Oh and don't forget the authentic Turkish coffee. Don't forget to eat responsibly!! The world is watching!!!

This is the 2nd time my hubby and I have been here and it's just as good as I remember. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful. The pistachio latte is amazing! We ate the tofu scramble and the Turkish breakfast at the restaurant. We took home a crazy good almond cookie, the pistachio custard baklava, and the chocolate hazelnut baklava for later . All of it was so tasty and it's hard to believe it's vegan!

Wow, just W-O-W. Don't sleep on this one. The Baklava Lady is not one to miss. Only open Friday-Sunday 10-3p, but boy is it worth finding a way! This charming cafe on the corner of Main Street gives me small hometown vibes - so cozy, so welcoming, and makes you feel right at home. The food is impeccable - they certainly use high quality ingredients as you can taste the freshness in just about anything you order. Everything we've tried here is perfection and you leave feeling good about what you ate!

I'm obsessed with this place. The cutest decor and most welcoming environment. The staff was kind and service was quick. I felt spoiled for choice as a dairy-free person. There were so many yummy desserts and savory options. We tried the manakeesh and the pistachio raspberry "birds nest" pastry. Both 10/10. We also really enjoyed our iced cardamom lattes. It's an uncommon flavor that I really enjoy. I do wish I could taste the cardamom more. Their drinks are made with oat milk by default but they also have almond and soy. I will absolutely be back to try the rest of the menu. It was so beautiful to see the rich Turkish and Palestinian cultural influences as well. As others have mentioned, parking can be a bit of a challenge at times but they do have a small lot in the back. IMO, it's incredibly worth it.

Who knew this treasure of a place was so close to Monroe Twp.!! After yoga, my friend and I decided to stop by for a quick snack. We had no clue what we were walking into. It was quite busy in there on a Sunday morning which makes sense as they are only open three days a week. While my friend stood in line, I was able to scope out the other cooler to make sure I was saw all my options before ordering. I got the pistachio baklava and the apple cider latte. The baklava was delicious - nutty and sweet. My drink tasted like coffee, nothing really stood out. We sat down to drink our drinks and saw the red like stew at the table next to ours. It looked so good I decided I had to go order it! And boy, I am glad I did because it hit the spot! It was served at the perfect temperature and was such a light meal after exercising. The bread was warm, toasty and the perfect vessel to dip in the stew. I thought the stew lacked a bit of salt but when you eat an olive afterwards it balanced out nicely. I can't wait to come back after yoga! So many delicious options to choose from.

TBL is the best cafe in all of NJ; there is nothing Chef Naciye cannot do. From breads to baked goods to coffee and traditional Turkish fare, everything is freshly made and served warmly in her gorgeous cafe (now with extended outdoor seating!).

Most recently, Hubby and I have been looking for a vegan dining options that prioritize quality ingredients and taste over flashy presentations. I heard about The Baklava Lady for a while now but did not realize they a) serve more than just Baklava b) they are 100% vegan with all their entrees, desserts, and drinks and finally c) they offer Mediterranean food! With great trepidation, I went and was blown over at how good their specials were. We've gone back and ordered some other items, both on their specialty board and a few that are considered their "regular" dishes. Everything is freshly made and the service is exceptional. Quality ingredients, beautifully plated, exceptional both visually and edible. A winner across the board. The only thing I could find fault with them is that they are only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at limited hours. Is that really that bad? No, because if they are that good, they can afford to be more selective and will serve only the freshest items and not try to move any dishes along because it has been there for an overextended period of time. Service: 5/5 Efficiency: 5/5 Beverage: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Note: Limited and tight seating but they do offer outdoor seating. Parking is tight and limited in the back but there is street parking for your convenience.

Women only laugh at my jokes when they're ovulating but when I eat here that doesn't bother me. This place exceeds its already illustrious reputation. It's good enough to nurse any poor decisions that may have been made the night before.

We succeeded in both respects, saving over $20 a week in Java fees and thoroughly enjoying our handiwork as we controlled our filtered water and fresh ingredients throughout the process. But, yesterday I found myself out and about - out of coffee and about to take drastic action to remedy this problem. I looked up as I drove through Cranbury, NJ, and saw a sign for Lyberry Cafe in a newish commercial strip on the south side of town. The Universe provides. I pulled in, parked and walked in to a chill large warehouse-looking space with painted library walls on one end with comfy leatheresque easy chairs and small tables for privacy, and a long row of tables/wooden benches/chairs along running the length of the deep room and partially across from the service area. I had to acknowledge feeling passing strange being in a cafe for the first time in a long while, but I managed to check their menu and order a small Americano to go before taking a seat at the end table closest to the door. Why not sit and relax for a few before returning to my wheels? It wasn't crowded around noon, and the folks seemed like they were settled in for a while. Some working; most chatting. I sipped the strong steaming hot joe. Yep! Definitely strong enough to remove the wearies and retune me up for my afternoon agenda. Still, couldn't help feeling a little out of place. Just spending money for commercial coffee, once so commonplace; but now so strangely wasteful put me in touch with how transitory some habits are. Three average caffeinated stars for the ho-hum of this or any such consumption outpost. I think I have lost my Lyberry card.
