    Baja Fish Tacos

Love the Baja Fish Tacos, service and atmosphere. Each taco is $8. Delicious. So many food items to choose from. The bar staff were great and very helpful!

Came in on a Monday night and were seated right away, though the bar itself was fully packed. The playlist was peak elder-millennial: 90s alt rock, just the right kind of nostalgic. You know when you can taste whether a place cleans their lines? The Banshee cleans their lines. Or they go through enough Guinness that it never has time to go stale. Either way, the pour was flawless: perfect temp, perfect head, perfect timing to the table. My partner's a little heartbroken now, knowing he'll be chasing this pour for a long time. As a Vietnamese girl, I was skeptical of the Viet fusion items, but they were done really well with respect to the the original flavor profiles. The tomato soup that came with the grilled cheese was a little tart for me, but my partner loved it. Solid spot. Good food. Excellent beer. Great energy. No wonder it's a staple.

Complete gem in the heart of downtown Chico! I found this place by luck while walking around downtown and can't wait to go back. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The place almost feels like a cross between a sports bar and dive bar. What blew my away was they menu items, food and cocktails!

1000% biased review but this place already has my vote of confidence because within 10 minutes of being here they played Kaytranada and Masego on the sound system. Now I will try to be objective for the rest of this review: Ambiance has a good chill vibe on a Saturday night around 11, which sounds late but the night crawlers are still getting dressed so there's that. Came in for an order of wings and staff was cool to let me place the order close to kitchen closing time. Good spot to catch up on ESPN late night before moving on. Food came out quick for late night. Definitely get the sauce for your wings on the side if you like your wings crispy. Yum. Got the classic burger as well. This was pretty damn good with a great size patty and fresh condiments. Solid to wash down with a beer from their various options. Bonus this place has a regular bar as well for cocktails but still gives more brewery vibes. Definitely worthwhile to come check out.

The fish tacos and fish and chip plate were super good... my family is from Ireland so I know a good fish and chip when I taste one!!! Highly recommend!!! The staff in here is very friendly and the place offers a chill and comfortable ambiance

    Steak & Blue Quesadilla

Great pub vibe and service. Tried the Steak and Blue Quesadilla for the first time. Not my favorite. For steak and blue cheese it was just too gooey cheesy for my taste. I think I would like it a lot less gooey. BUT, I'll definitely be back to continue exploring the menu. So far, the fish & chips is 5 star.

Out for a nice dinner on Chavez Day. Went out to The Banshee and got the fish and chips... The portion was out of this world! Came with 4 pieces of fish and a ton of fries! The fish was pretty well fried and the fries were super crispy. Came with a huge bowl of tartar to dip and an amazing side of slaw. Im not usually a big fan of cole slaw but this one was one id eat again. The fries although were supper crispy and a large amount, had a little took much salt on them, no biggie tho. I went at 4pm and there were plenty of spaces open. Ordered from the bar after getting our seats. It must have not been dinner time as there weren't any waiters or much other staff other than the bartenders. The whole place was cool, a kind of darker ambiance that really brings a chill vibe.

The Braised Brisket Phorench Dip with Cajun Fries

We got the Braised Brisket Phorench Dip sandwich, the Baja Fish Tacos, and the Pastrami on Rye (not pictured), with Cajun fries on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious. It has a pub vibe which is more small and quaint but everything was great.

It has a cool, relaxed feel that's a little more grown-up without crossing over into being stuffy or pretentious. You can actually sit down, have a good drink, eat something, and enjoy the place instead of feeling like you're competing with the music to have a conversation. The cocktails are where Strong Water really shines. They're creative, well made, and definitely a step above the usual "pour some liquor in a glass and hope for the best" situation. The food is really good too and fits the whole vibe of the place perfectly. Service has always been friendly and attentive when I've been there, and I like that they can make recommendations without turning ordering a cocktail into a chemistry lesson. It's also right next to Lost Dutchman Taproom, which makes that little area dangerously convenient if your original plan was to have a responsible, uneventful evening. Strong Water is definitely a place I'd recommend when you want something a little nicer than your typical bar but still want to relax and actually have fun. Five stars for the drinks, food, service, and atmosphere. The cocktails may be strong, but apparently my ability to say "this is my last one" is considerably weaker.

Food - the lobster lasagna was delicious. Prime rib cooked on point and loved the sides, they were a little small but the meat made up for it! The duck, it had good flavor but wasn't our favorite good sides though!! 2nd time there.... Staff seemed a little stressed and not as friendly VIBE - LOVED IT! The music started right when we got there and it was perfect for our dinner date. Food - kinda made me sad. The halibut was cooked well but over salted and when it was plated it was a little rough looking. The lamb - tough and did not enjoy it, the rice was bland but the veggies were on point! The others had lobster lasagna and enjoyed and the prime rib and it was just so so that night. drinks: Espresso martini was tasty but served in an odd glass!! Wine was nice and of course when you get anything on the rocks you know what you are in for. Sweets: The Cassata (if I spelled that right) sounded amazing but left us unimpressed. The apple tart had great flavor and was warm which was a nice touch! Overall the 1st visit would have had 5 stars but the 2nd is really a 3 stars so I went with 4. The beer selection is great, with enough variety that there's something for pretty much everyone, including the person who needs to sample half the menu before finally committing to a full pour. The atmosphere is probably my favorite part. It's casual, open, and comfortable without feeling overly polished or like it's trying too hard to be trendy. The staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help you figure out what to try without making you feel like you need a degree in craft beer first. It's also the kind of place that works just as well for hanging out with a group as it does for stopping in and having a couple beers without making a whole production out of it. Good drinks, good people, good atmosphere, and absolutely no pressure to be anywhere else. Five stars from me. The biggest problem with Lost Dutchman is that stopping by for "just one" requires a level of self-control I apparently do not possess.
