In my early 20's The Bar was one of the go to destinations for many of my friends. I spent many afternoons watching the Packers or Nascar. I also enjoyed many bands out in the indoor volleyball area. I have many fond memories of times spent with friends & co-workers here. Having moved out of the Fox Valley I no longer was able to visit with any frequency. I found myself in the area at lunchtime Monday and thought I'd visit one of my old stomping spots. Just walking in the door brought back memories of days gone by. They have a $9 lunch special on Mondays with all the salad & 3-4 different soups that you can eat. This looked like a pretty good deal, but it's The Bar after all, so I went with a burger and fries. We were greeted quickly upon entry and our drink/food order was on track for an in/out lunch visit. The waitress never asked how we wanted our burgers and without our specifying our burgers came out a little overcooked. The burger had good flavor and would have been spot on at a medium rather than well done. They have a batter on their fries that is awesome. Some of the most enjoyable restaurant fries I've had. Our service was a little spotty, in that the waitress never came back to see how our meals were or to refill the obviously empty soda glass. Our server became so M.I.A. that while sitting with empty baskets and wallets in hand we had to ask another waitress to find ours for the bill. All in all, still pretty good bar food and a nice little visit down memory lane. read more

Our last attempt. This time the Food was horrible also. Service was rude and it wasn't that busy. A man described as one of the owners intoxicated and making lewd comments to young female staff. Overall the most disappointing of some mediocre outings. Would not recommend and would advise to spend money elsewhere, you will not regret it. The bar appears to be a chain in the Wisconsin area. We went to the Lynndale location in Appleton. It was a great place to watch the UFC fight. Lots of food options on the menu! We got the appetizer platter and the nachos auténticos which was a great decision for variety. We had a group of 4 which gave us the option to get a taste of multiple foods at the bar! In addition, I had a pesto chicken sandwich. Good quality the Mac n cheese was just ok. Overall, good place to try out! read more

We used to frequent The Bar often. Still have some of the best wings around, But last time we were there got charged extra for not additional bleau cheese but 1 and also 2.49 for celery. Ordered food here and got none of the toppings on my burger, no salad dressing for the 2 bites of salad, fries tasted like they were soaked in the ocean and were inedible and the wrap we got was basically lettuce sauce and chicken fat. I got the BX3 burger because it sounded too amazing not to pass up as I had never seen any burger advertised as such before. A bacon-infused patty, topped with Patrick Cudahy Apple-Wood smoked bacon and cheddar cheese. Served on a toasted bacon-infused bun. However, once I received it, it just ended up being a plain bacon cheeseburger. Nothing worth spending the $13 on. I saw others in my party get some coated chicken tenders in the sauce of their choice - I'd much rather go that route if I end up at The Bar again...as they had lots of choices of sauces for their wings/tenders. The seasoned criss-cuts (waffle fries) were pretty good, especially in the mystery dip that came with them. Service was a bit slow being that we were the only people in the place when we arrived. We used to go to the bar for wings every week. We stopped for a while, since their wings are being cooked twice...and WAY over cooked! Until they taste like stringy paper! Horrible! Food is so-so. Ordered twice for delivery. First time, it was good standard bar fare but the burger was dry and tasteless. The cheese curds were good though and came with plenty of ranch. The second time it lacked... I had the pretzels and the broasted Chicken. Chicken was great. Unfortunately, they forgot to include the coleslaw and the gravy. So, I received mashed potatoes with no gravy. Mashed potatoes weren't great. Also, there was no coleslaw like the menu said it had. My pretzel was missing a sauce too so I only had enough to dip one pretzel. Not really impressed but the delivery was pretty good. I'd order the chicken and cheese curds again but that's it. I have been going to this place for the last 15 years and have always had great food and great service. Burgers are always spot on and fries are seasoned and are always cooked right. We've been customers of the Bar for a long time, and have watched the steady decline over the past few years, so we don't patronize them at all anymore. The first kick in the teeth was the already-over-priced traditional wings, when they reduced the serving size from a dozen to 10. Really? Then, the celery. WTF does celery cost?? Are they too damn lazy to cut it up?? When they started charging for celery with your wings, that was it for us. $1.49 for 2 sticks of limp celery?? Who is in charge of marketing? We go to Wingstop in GB and hope they come to the Valley soon. In the meantime, we've switched to Buffalo Wild Wings. We've decide to let the Bar out-price themselves into oblivion. Actually quite impressed after our experience here tonight. Went in with low expectations given some of the reviews on here but was pleasantly surprised. I always tip, even when the drinks are free, but on this occasion was VERY tempted not to. We went there for my birthday Sunday (before the game) when it wasn't busy and the female bartender was horrible. The servers and the male bartender were friendly, bit she had an attitude the whole time, was slow to serve, and the drinks were so weak I might as well have been drinking soda. Ok, I get you don't pay for drinks on your birthday there but even my boyfriend's drinks were laughably weak. We ordered the chips and dip which she tossed in front of us without so much as looking at us. I placed a TOGO order at 3:45 pm for an order of chicken nachos. My estimated pick up time was 4:08-4:15 ... my fiancé went to go pick up the order when I received the "green light" that the order was ready and when he arrived... they told him that the order was just being put in.... My fiancé sat at the bar waiting for the nachos for an additional 20 minutes... meanwhile the bar had less than 5 customers inside and the male who was working was very rude. So I came into the bar to play volleyball and I brought in some water. one of the employees there was extremely rude to me and told me I needed to throw out my water because it was a carry in. I argued that water is free and I'm here for volleyball which I need to drink water for. but because mine was a life water and not in a hard plastic blender bottle or other water bottle it wasn't acceptable. So pretty much they made me walk up to the bar to get free water from their bartende, who they have to pay, instead of just letting me drink the water I had with me. We had the salad bar on a Monday and it was very good. A very nice selection of toppings for your salad. They also had three or four choices of soup. We enjoyed the broccoli cheddar soup. The cookies were also available with the salad bar but they were over done. You could tell that they were a little too dark. I come in about once a month on the busier nights and always get fast service. Even when the place is packed there is a server taking my drink order and offering a menu within minutes. The turn around on food and drinks are fast and spot on. They have a good, balanced beer selection. The food menu has everything you'd expect at a sports bar. The pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, and grilled chicken are all excellent. Can't really say anything negative about them. read more

This place has decent burgers, but my burrito was disappointing. During our second time delivering, the driver grabbed the wrong order and had to go back to grab the right one (I saw him pull in, leave, and so I called and they told me what happened, so a different guy delivered to us). It's no big deal, but that means that my food has been sitting for however much longer. We have a small baby boy, so going out to restaurants is a bit hectic, so delivery is our main option (I figured I would shut the people up that say 'just go out to eat if you're going to complain,'). The nachos were good the first two times we had them, but the third time it was almost like they forgot the meat, and it was sloppily put together. The delivery guy with the Mustang is really my only complaint that bugs me. He's delivered twice to us and the first time he called because he couldn't read the address they wrote down. He called and left us a voicemail saying "this is (insert his name) for The Bar, call me back if you want your food." The second time he delivered and was rather rude again by his demeanor when he met me at the door. I'd be rude too if I had the 2.3L EcoBoost Mustang. Clearly a V-8 is the only way to go if you need a muscle car. I'll be honest, I tipped him $1.00, but he has given me no reason to tip any higher from his demeanor and the three minutes he has to drive to get to my house. Now that I think about it, the only reason we still go here is the $7 and $9 coupons from EatStreet that we get. We'd probably not consider The Bar on a night out if we had a babysitter. read more

Have ordered from here several times and it usually turns out ok. Tonight we ordered around 6 pm which would be before the rush. We live approx. 2 miles from there but wanted it delivered. Husband called there after an hour and supposedly the food was out for delivery. I called after another half hour. The lady that answered put me on hold to check with the drivers. The man that came back on the phone says the driver knocked on the door and left the food outside. 1. We are sitting 10 ft from our door. It was never knocked on and the doorbell was never rung. 2. There is no food outside the door. The man was rude and acted as if I had no reason to complain and he certainly didn't care to hear anything I had to say! When did it become acceptable to be rude to your customers when your establishment is responsible for the wrongdoing????? We won't be ordering here again. read more

The Bar on Lynndale is one of our favorite spots to grab a drink and wings. Lots of fun sauces and seasonings for the wings. The Friday fish menu is pretty good also. Even when with doing takeout more regularly now the food has always been correct and makes it home without getting soggy in the container. They used the COVID-19 shutdown to do some remodeling and cleanup and I can say it is looking great inside. Lots of space to distance and everything just has a newer updated look. read more

Had a really good experience here tonight. The non-profit board I'm on meets after work and we like to enjoy a couple drinks and food while we work. This was our first time at The Bar, we'll be back! Our waitress, Maggie, was the best! The omnivores in our group were happy with their traditional bar fare (wings, chicken wrap, burger, etc). As a vegan, I have a hard time in this type of place. Maggie suggested her favorite item - something not on the menu. It was a Boca burger broken into bits and tossed in hot sauce. Then added to lettuce and tomatoes in a wrap. Went for a small birthday celebration with 5 friends and all of the burgers came out wrong. We were argued with about what burgers we ordered and the server gave attitude about fixing our order. We had to get our own drinks because anytime the waitress visited the table she was too busy complaining to us about other customers. Management provided minimal compensation for the wrong orders and poor service, even after the waitress threw the check holders on the table in front of us. Very unprofessional in my opinion, and living nearby I drive past the restaurant nearly every Friday and Saturday night to see a nearly empty parking lot...that says a lot about the recent service. The food is eh, the service okay on the days everyone is good. The one thing that pisses me off is the bouncers. Now i don't mind getting carded at all, my problem is when a gentleman or a young woman comes walking in the bar, they select card. Even if you dont drink and you tell them that you are only here for the food they will still question you and make you sit in the corner of the bar! During this time i have wrote this review over 12 people have walked in without being carded and walked right up to the bar. My girlfriend and I just moved to Appleton and found ourselves loving the bars wings. We have been ordering delivery from them at least once a week for about 3 months. The last couple deliveries were messed up so we called and they fixed it no big deal. Well today we ordered our usual and my girlfriend forgot my fries so she called and asked if we could add an order of fries to our previous order and we were told no problem. Then 15 minutes later we got our food but our fries were missing so my girlfriend called to let them know we didn't get the fries and they said they would get them out to us right away. Then Carly gets a call from the owner saying he reviewed our last couple of orders and said it wasn't worth it to deliver to you because you always have something to complain about. She tried to explain that she knew she made the mistake and wasn't trying to get a stupid order of fries for free. Then Brock the owner said you must be Jesus sense you make no mistakes ever. What? Like what kind of business talks to their customers like that. He was so rude for no reason we weren't asking for free shit just trying to add to our order. That place is a joke!!! The bar manager was a jerk. Placed a carry out order through eatstreet. I haven't been to this place in over a year and didn't know their policy changed so that sauces do not come with wings and are extra. When I read their menu on eatstreet I thought one sauce / dressing comes with each order and it's $.49 for each additional but that is not the case...simple misunderstanding, right? I didn't know this until about 5 minutes after I left the bar I get an email notification from eatstreet saying they are charging me extra for the ranch sauces. This would have been nice to know when I was picking up my wings I probably would have told you to cancel the extra sauces. So I go back to the restaurant to speak with the bar manager and he was disrespectful to the point that he went over to a server's tip jar and pulled out a dollar and threw it at me. Got home to discover my 30 wings were burned to a crisp (not really what I meant when I requested my wings extra crispy). It's not about the $1, it's about integrity, communication, and respect and not serving customers burned food. Will never go to this place again! read more
