Quaint historical building that looks like an old duplex. Adelle was extremely friendly and sat us at our table. We had exceptional service from Adella not to be confused with Adelle! We wanted to try the duck burger but they were sold out. But we came to eat during the last hour of the day. We ended up having the 'Merica burgers and duck fries. AMAZING. The flavor and the char was spot on! Probably one of the best burgers we've ever had! We usually only drink water and the bottle with mint leaves was a nice touch! No wonder we were able to get an immediate table on a holiday weekend. I guess the locals already knew that the food at this place is very poor. The burger was not seasoned at all and burnt on one side. The fries had almost zero salt or any other seasoning and were so overcooked. We all felt that our meals were bland and burnt. Came in on a Sunday at 11:30 with reservation. Took 15 minutes for a server. Ordered champagne for 4 15 min later we were told didn't have enough champagne for 4 glasses so we switched order to wine. The red blend was the very end of bottle not even a full glass. Still waiting on Chardonnay. 35 minutes later we left and will not be back. This was my first stop in Prescott and it was perfect. Super dog-friendly--my sweet server brought out a Frisbee filled with rice and boiled meat just for the pups! The Barley Hound is attempting some great things -- an inviting dog-friendly courtyard, good music, and a menu slanted toward duck-fat happiness. On our recent visit, there were a few service snags, and the menu seemed weighted heavily with sirloin (e.g., both the duck burger and the pork burger are blended with beef), but overall it's a great vibe here. Prices are a little higher than you might find elsewhere in town, especially for the wines, but the patio dining space elevates the whole experience and makes the Barley Hound well worth a visit. Cute and dog friendly spot! Down the street from the town square-area of Prescott, it has a quiet and relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a restaurant. I ordered the duck burger rare. It was cooked perfectly. The cranberry jam added a lovely sweetness. Surprisingly light for it being a fattier meat. My wife ordered the seafood chowder and extra focaccia bread on the side. The chowder was very tasty and the perfect blend of fish and vegetables. Exactly what you should expect from at chowder. Service, and food need drastic improvement. My food, hamburger and fries were burnt as well as my wife's vegy burger. It took 20 minutes to get a drink and then another 30 minutes to get our burnt food. The hamburger was plain with no condiments, had a slice of cheese, and tomato, a sliver of red onion and lettuce. When I asked for mayonnaise and ketchup I was total they were sauces and cost a $1.50 each to add to the $18.00 hamburger. Although they did replace my cold burnt hamburger, the 2nd was also burnt. When I spoke with manger he was not interested and would only say "ok" to my complaint and as to me no longer patronizing his restaurant he again stated "ok". It was also interesting that the group eating at the table next to us showed us their burnt food and also said they would never return as well as commenting on the very poor service. Don't waste your money and go to McDonald's instead, they have better food, service and prices. read more

Mediocre food with terrible service. Had a lunch reservation with our 5 people group. First thing the waitress said was "hurry and put your order in a group of 12 is about to put theirs in...." obviously insinuating it'll take awhile. We thought it was rude and it took forever getting anything. We got there at 12:45 and didn't leave until 2:45! Had to keep waving her down and at the end she "thought" she had dropped the check off, so just added more time on waiting for her. She seemed flustered by the lunch rush, but she should still be professional or phone a friend to help her tables. We didn't give her any attitude, we just wanted to get food and leave. Few of the servers give zero effort and heard one of them speaking poorly of us to the manager. When I mentioned to manager, he seemed uninterested. I tried to send a message to the restaurant rather than post a review with an issue I addressed in house yesterday that was not received appropriately. We had a group of 6 at about 130 pm. I had suggested that we go there because I was craving the haddock that I had the other day with your fish and chips. Three people got the pear salad and it was 90pct lettuce with just a few pieces of pear and one was even served without feta cheese and when they brought it on the side, the amount wasn't even worth putting on the salad. The haddock was deep-fried with a heavy batter, whereas what I had the other day was lightly breaded and seemingly sautéed versus deep-fried. The lightly battered version was so delicious as I said, I craved it! I always love the duck and chuck burger the best without bread and with a Caesar salad yet it's hardly offered on Sundays. I miss the availability of it. Holly is honestly one of the best servers in town unfortunately she had to leave and then we were substituted and the experience was quite different. The cocktails were excellent interesting blends as always. Having the food offerings consistent would be a better ongoing experience. If you have the haddock, please consider cooking it consistently the way you did before not heavily deep-fried where you can't hardly taste the fish. Offer one of your best dishes, the duck and chuck, on a regular basis. We would come more often on Sundays and then definitely come in between. read more

They may be dog friendly but not so people friendly. I am newly widowed. I made a reservation... for 1 (and my dog.) When I arrived, I was told to choose a seat, anywhere. I picked a shady, patio seat for my dog and I. I wasn't even finished with my lunch when the hostess/server asked me if I would move over to a table -in the sun, so that 3 other women (with their dogs) could take my table. I was surprised. I should have said no, but instead I just paid my bill. The server and the 3 women stood right in front of my table while I was paying and gathering my dog and purse! Very awkward. BTW, My spinach salad was wilted and my ginger drink was awful and they are WAY OVER PRICED! I went for there for the dog friendly patio, definitely not the food or prices. read more

Good food, good service, great experience! Loved the space and the simplicity of the (covid?) menu. All the seats outdoors were the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful evening in Prescott! As for food, the Merica burger and the cauliflower brisket nachos were my highlights. The duck burger was a lil meh for me bc I'd asked for medium rare and it ended up being a bit dry/well done.
