What a precious coastal spot, heard they were known for burgers but their breakfast was delicious and on a sunny day the vibes were high! Friendly service and super helpful! 10/10 would recommend and also very kid friendly!

Wow delicious food and an amazing setting! You HAVE TO GO HERE if you are staying in Half Moon Bay or just driving by. Unfortunately they did not have milkshakes so we substituted with beer instead. The burgers were delicious, solid 8-9/10 The pretender burger had a very unique patty and was very good! The French fries were the star of the show, they are so fresh and delicious. The Mac attack was also unique.

The food here is below average. You can see stacks of already fried chcken, onion strings, chili etc. The freshly prepared items are limited to ground beef and fries. The burgers and fried chicken sandwiches are barely edible. Lacking flavor, temperature, seasoning, authenticity. These are basics. Make them as well as Popeyes or Burger King you win. The Barn does not win here. The chili is decent, but again, lacking seasoning and qualiity. The fries were well well well done, again, lacking seasoning. Decent item here was the milkshake. Edible, happy kids. The enviornment is nice. Child friendly, plenty of seating. I am a positive reviewer but cannot praise this place. It's average-

Sometimes, pictures can be deceiving, and they don't always show the whole story. In pictures, the burger looks huge, juicy, and mouthwatering. But, in reality, it's a different story. We got the barn burger, and it came with caramelized onions. Unfortunately, the onions were quite sparse, and it felt more like a salad than a burger, with so much lettuce. The patty was small and thin. I was really looking forward to this place, but I'm not sure I'll be back. The strawberry lemonade was okay, a bit too sour. The fries were the only thing that was good and fresh.

We were passing through on our way to Carmel and stopped for lunch. This rustic, outdoor burger/sandwich shop was very tasty. Our group had the grilled chicken sandwich shop, spicy burger, pulled pork sandwich, and regular hamburger. Everyone raved about their meal. NOTE: Everything is à la carte and the cashier didn't mention that, so we had to go back to order French fries and coleslaw. Both were delicious, but it was disappointing to have the avoidable delay between our main course and side dish.

Delicious food and a perfect spot for burgers! Staff were friendly and service was quick. Definitely recommend stopping by for burgers, Mac attack, and affogato if you like coffee.

Stopped by The Barn for breakfast on my way to Santa Cruz and I'm glad I did! They have their own parking lot and a TON of seating (outdoor only). You order at the register and then grab your food from their pick up area. It wasn't that crowded on a Friday morning (maybe 2-3 other parties there). They also have lawn games (corn hole, jenga, etc.). I ordered their breakfast burrito ($15-$16) and it was pretty big (ate 3/4 of it before getting full). The taste was good and it comes with a salsa (not my favorite so I used hot sauce).

My favorites from this place: 1) French fries were amazing, I asked for them extra crispy and they were super crunchy, golden, delicious, best I've ever had. 2) Cheezy Caesar Salad was delicious. A half portion was quite large and I feel like it could be a whole meal. 3) I wasn't really feeling the burger, but boyfriend really liked it and happily finished my leftovers 4) Grilled chicken sandwich was good but I would request no sour cream next time. 5) Chocolate malted milkshake was delicious, whipped cream was a bit too sweet. Vibes are good. They only have outdoor seating but it was nice and there are heat lamps, good shade. Only one bathroom, which had a very long line the entire time we were there. Order at the counter, pick up your food at the window, bus your own table.

Hand Cut Fries, Strawberry Shake, Pretender Veggie Burger, Barn Burger with Cheese

I came here a couple of years ago and I have thought about this place since! I typically am not a burger person, so I love when places have a nice vegetarian option. The staff there were kind and attentive. There's outdoor seating in front of the restaurant, or you could head over to the garden area for more table seating outdoors. It's dog friendly, so bring your pup if you would like! The hand cut fries were crispy and slight soft on the inside so it made them a great side to get. The pretender had a perfect harmonious bite with the cheese, flax, arugula and all! It was a tiny bit on the heavy side for a veggie burger, but still definitely worth trying. The barn burger is a great staple to try, and a great go-to to order. The strawberry shake was a 10/10, delicious and perfectly creamy. I would come again for a nice pit stop along the coast!

In town for one night. The Barn was close to our hotel (we could have walked). Best burgers we've had in a while. Hubs & I both got Barn burgers, the kid got pulled pork. Charming seating area. Fast service. And the fries!!! Yummm.

The Barn is the perfect laid-back spot with fresh, quality food. Tucked a little off the beaten path, it's the kind of place you're glad you made the drive for. I've been during their busy summer rush and on quiet, chilly winter days -- and both experiences have been equally great. FOOD: 9/10 DRINKS: 9/10 SERVICE: 9/10 AMBIANCE: 8/10 Favorites: - Mac Attack: fried mac & cheese perfection, crunchy outside and gooey inside -BLT(a): Classic sandwich, but I like to add Avocado for an extra charge -Hand-cut fries: simple, hot, and delicious -Mango Lemonade: refreshing and bright with just the right sweetness FOOD: 9/10 The food here hits that perfect balance of comfort and quality. Everything tastes fresh and intentional, from the juicy burger to the fresh BLT sandwich. The Mac Attack is dangerously addictive, and the fries are the kind you keep reaching for even when you tell yourself you're done. DRINKS: 9/10 The Mango Lemonade is a standout...fruity, tangy, and super refreshing without being sugary. It pairs perfectly with the heavier, comfort-forward dishes like the Mac attack or fries. Their drink lineup has other flavors that are fun and fit the coastal vibe. SERVICE: 9/10 Staff are friendly, warm, and pretty efficient for an outdoor-only setup. Even with the crowd, everything felt under control, and the wait never felt too long. They keep things moving while still being personable. AMBIANCE: 8/10 This place is rustic, casual, and very "Half Moon Bay." The outdoor seating, garden touches, and relaxed coastal feel make it an easy spot to unwind. It's cozy, though being fully outdoors means the weather definitely plays a role. Still, it has plenty of charm, a warm community vibe, and I love that they offer fire pits. There are lots of different seating options, and plenty of space to spread out. Definitely one of my favorite spots to go to, and it's on my list of places to come back to!

First time there and checked it out before our round of golf nearby at Half Moon Bay Golf Links. My buddy recommended it for the pulled pork sandwich, but after reading the reviews I opted to try their Hot Farmer burger instead. Found it to be tasty and filling. A solid burger, cooked well with good sauce and crispy deep fried onions on top. Also, a decent selection of beers on tap to go with lunch. Not bad overall and worth giving it a try for yourself!

The barn is a great place to eat out on the coast. Their BLT is the best around and their fries are maybe the best in the Bay Area! They also have great burgers and fried chicken sandwiches and other stuff. Highly recommend.

I really liked the pickled onion and the choice of white cheddar. I'd say overall it wasn't as greasy as a full burger which I really appreciated! - Mushroom sandwich: out of the 2 sandwiches this one was my favorite! The Maitake mushrooms were very tender and flavorful! - Homemade Potato chips: staff told us that this tends to sell out before the end of the day, but we were lucky enough to get an order of them and they were very very good! The addition of nutritional yeast in the seasoning added a lot of great to the chips! - Herb salad: super refreshing salad, this salad is made with all herbs and the lemon dressing that they used was very light and refreshing, which I think balanced out the rest of the meal! ~overall~ I definitely recommend dad's luncheonette for a quick bite. The staff were very friendly and the food was really good. Everything tasted very fresh and not too heavy.

It has a very limited menu and the kitchen is an old railroad caboose that is attached to a small enclosed shed where you order and has a few stools to eat inside, Outside they have several uncovered picnic tables in the corner of a parking lot. It is only open Thursday-Sunday 11:15 am to 4 pm. At the suggestion of the guy at the register I ordered the hamburger (which he said was the best you will ever eat) and had them add mushrooms to it. Their other specialty (other than the burger) is their mushroom sandwich. I also got their homemade potato chips and added a Diet Coke. I waited about 10 minutes for my meal to be served in a paper bag and then decided to sit inside on one of the stools. The burger is served on grilled square shaped sandwich bread and it was very good tasting. It wasn't a traditional burger with the shrooms, cheese, Dad's sauce, cheese, pickled onion and lettuce and fell apart by the time I was halfway thru it. It is definitely a knife and fork sandwich but I still enjoyed it. Also those homemade chips were also very good tasting. They had a (coating) on them and I can see why they are so popular. Yes this is a very good and unique type of place to eat. My only negative was the price. $16.25 for the burger, $5.50 for the potato chips and $3 for the can of Coke. With tax it was $26.65! But then this is California!

For food, we ordered Pierogies and Burrata Poutine for the table. The Pierogies were unfortunately super bland - edible, but nothing special. I loved the skinny fries in the Burrata Poutine and the concept of the dish sounded fantastic. However, the execution could've been better - the gravy wasn't my favorite and I wish there was more burrata on the big pile of fries. I also got a Chicken Caesar Salad for myself, which was very standard - exactly what I expected. My friends enjoyed the Pulled Pork Sandwich and Chicken Fingers with Tater Tots. Overall, not terrible, but far from my favorite brewery meal.
