8 piece chicken, cheese curds, fried pickles

Friendly and helpful at the counter. Food was good. Fried pickles were excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great family atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The chicken was perfectly cooked and just how I like it. it was so good, however what caught my attention was the greens!!!! THEY WERE DELICIOUS!! had I known they were gonna be that good I would have gotten a large...heck a bucket of them!!! I wasn't a fan of the stewed tomato only because they had too much cinnamon but they were still good. I recommend you try it!

Amazing! This food was fantastic and would 100% come back. The baked beans were to die for! Chicken was amazing! Coleslaw was delicious and crunchy and the most sweetest sweet tea. Both of our meals could have fed more than two of us and we got everything for just around $30. Next time we are in town we will stop again! [[HIGHLIGHT]]And not to mention the place feels like "home".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Slow, clean, country vibe with very kind staff[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Proof I called after 11 and they didnt answer yet their phones automatically turn on at 11 according to the owner.

So I wanted to eat here for the first time today... Got there right around 1105 and waited close to 20 mins for them to open.. So as I was waiting with a random group of people they gave up after 10 minutes after employees inside kept shaking their heads no at us. Rather then come to the door and say hey we are slow opening due to cooks not showint up etc or offering any explanation they just kept shaking their heads no. The group next to me went to danis across the street instead since they drove over an hour i learned through talking to them. So after waiting till about 1125 I decided to leave. Anywho I reached out on facebook and even called once while standing there. The owner responded and essentially said I was lying about everything and when I provided proof of the incident he BLOCKS ME ON FACEBOOK rather than apologizing. All I wanted was an apology didnt care about free food or anything instead was called a liar and blocked. ive worked in management for over 10 years including 2 years in restaurant management and I would never let an employee act like that and the fact the owner acted like that explains so much about the business. Seems like I dodged a real shit show.

Stopped in on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon to try out this place. Many locals had been raving about The Barn Restaurant so I thought a little mid-day lunch would be a great time to pop in and try it out. We ordered a chicken sandwich basket dinner, 1 chicken leg, cheeseburger, and a piece of coconut cake. The team member taking orders didn't seem to be having the best of days and unfortunately placed part of our order I correctly. We ended up with everything but the chicken sandwich dinner basket..:that was received as a combo. Alas, I started with the chicken leg since they are said to have the best fried chicken in the area. The leg was crispy, a tad juicy, and salty in my humble opinion. The chicken sandwich was a good portion size. It was a full size chicken breast; only concern was the small chicken bone found in it that could've been a choke hazard if it had been consumed by a small child. The fries were shoe string with a dash of seasoning salt. They were hot albeit on the soggy side. The cake, as I found out after purchasing, was made from a local baker and outsourced. The cake was a simple yellow cake with a coconut creme icing and coconut flakes sprinkled on top. It was overall a decent piece of cake ; unfortunately not a memorable piece. It wasn't dry but not the moistness you'd expect in a cake. The place which has been open for maybe 2-3 months has clearly become a locals favorite. I watched a patron finish his dinner and walk behind the counter into the kitchen to chat for a bit (no hairnet or anything). Overall, it was a good experience. The food was not anything over the top that would make me want to run back. Perhaps in a few months we will try it again to see what improvements have taken place.

    Kids' meals are available!

We dropped in while visiting from Tucson because I have a few family members that love fried chicken. I am not a fan of it so I went for a BBQ sandwich with cole slaw and it did not disappoint. The chicken had plenty of meat on it, cooked just right. The BBQ sandwich was full of flavorful meat and the cole slaw had a sweetness to compliment the BBQ. The Mac and cheese was on point and my son's fries were another table favorite. The baked beans were too sweet for my taste so I didn't eat those. I cannot wait to go back and try other items on the menu.

Everything came out hot and crispy, and both the fish and the shrimp had the lightest touch of batter so the seafood flavor really came through. We ordered extra sides (a steal at $3 each!) of mac and cheese and beans. You could make a meal out of the mac and cheese itself-it is a very generous portion of creamy, cheesy goodness! The standout for me of all the dishes was the baked beans. You have never had beans like this. Trust me. I rarely eat beans because they're often too sweet, but Papa's beans are only slightly sweet and laced with an amazing smokey flavor (they are cooked with smoked brisket). I'm excited to come back and try the collard greens! On top of all the fantastic food, Jamar, the owner and chef, came out to ask us about our meal, which was the highlight of our visit. You will not meet a nicer, more caring restaurant owner! He really cares about his customers and you can tell the food is made with heart. It is truly a family business, with Jamar's mom behind the counter and home cooked recipes on the menu. It is worth the wait to get food this good, so kick back with a beer at one of the tables outside while your food is being prepared with love! 5 stars for food, 10 stars for service. It's like going to someone's home for dinner. Pro Tip: You can't see Papa's from the road if you are on North Delphine. It is on the backside of the mini-market on the corner (you may see the picnic tables on the side-that's where Papa's is!).

Well thank goodness I finally decided to nip in to 3rd Generations Grill last evening for a hot meal and a cold beer after a long day. I was quite happy with the experience. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the dining room is large, open, and features a nice bar at the back with a decent selection of draft beer (sadly no dark options for the porter- and brown ale-loving crowd) and sundry spirits. The walls are plastered with rock & roll posters (they get extra credit for the Ziggy Stardust poster on the left side of the room as you enter) and the space is clean and well lit without being antiseptic and blazing. I think with a larger crowd (it was a bit sparse on my visit) the room could be a bit loud, so if quiet is your thing maybe plan for a low traffic time. After negotiating a workaround for the QR code-based online menu (I deduct a full star if that's my only option for ordering because I think it's poor service), I ordered the Generator burger from my very friendly, helpful, and service-forward bartender. What's great is I told him what I was looking for and he competently guided me to one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Double smashed patty, double bacon, cheese, onion. I added lettuce and tomato because I want to dupe myself into believing I had a vegetable that evening. Comes with side of their hand-cut fries and is a hearty portion of well prepared food. When I say this is a two-handed-eat-over-the-plate-like-a-caveman burger, that's exactly what it is. Thing is a monster of beautiful beef and bacon and cheese (sorry vegans, try again). Oh, and the food came out in good time--not fast food, but good food fast. I have a minor quibble with the fries which, while hand cut and nicely seasoned, were a bit under and kinda soggy. Not inedible, but could be better. I think if they blanched the fries before the final cook they'd achieve a crispier outside with that nice cushy potato centre you want in a French fry. But that's the only quibble. Service: six stars Food: four stars Ambiance: four stars Value: five stars I'll be going back again, for sure. The space itself gives you a family bar feeling. Looks like it would be a great locals spot. They had enough tables for any size groups and it was very clean. For appetizers we had the fried pickles and pork rinds. I'd give the fried pickles a 2/5, they had flavor but lacked crunch. The breading was missing on 80% of the pickle. The pork rinds, FRIEND, those were probably the highlight of my meal. The sizzle and pop, the crunch, flavor...I'm drooling just thinking about them again. I don't think I can ever have them from a bag again. 5/5 Main Coarse we ordered the mac-n-skilled with pulled pork, the kids chicken taco with tots, brisket stuff shells, and brisket Philly cheesesteak with a side of hush puppies. Mac-n-skillet, the meat was a tad bit dry but had a good amount of cheese. Creamy. Only downside was the pork. 3.5/5. The Brisket Philly was cheesy, meat was good, great flavor just a bit too greasy. Hush puppies were good, nothing stood out in particular. 4/5. The kids chicken taco and tots were ok. Not enough cheese and the tortilla was hard, tots were just right. 3.5/5. The brisket stuffed shells were unique, loved the flavor just a bit too much cheese to meat ratio for me personally. The brisket was cooked perfectly. Would order again. 5/5 We were in and out in less than an hour. We were never rushed and the atmosphere was warm. The prices are reasonable as well.

I appreciated the selection of local beers on draft too. Found prices to be very reasonable these days. Next, the sides are out of this world. The green beans and collard greens really compete with the best Grammy homemade ones. Mac and cheese, hush puppies, and chicken tenders were on point. I thought the portion sizes were good for $3 sides. I had the ahí tacos and a side of brisket. lol. I wanted to try the brisket! The tacos has a nice flavor with an excellent sauce but the tuna was unseasoned. The biggest issue is the taco sat in juices from the toppings and became soggy quickly. A little easier on the toppings and it would be a really good dish. The brisket. Man if you hype up your bbq it better be on point. It was not. Crazy crazy dry and not really tender either. I got the flavor they intended with the oak smoke but that was really poorly cooked brisket. If you can find a good main dish everything else is lined up for a great meal. Maybe make a meal of the sides? :)

I'm not a person that looks out for Popeyes when it comes from to fast food. Pulled in and went right for the drive thru. Seeing how I never come here, I had to take a minute to look over the menu before I could pick my order. My colleague on the other hand had her order ready. With our order placed we pulled around to pay. I paid and then was asked to pull up in front of the building to wait for our order to be completed. For fast food, I would assume you would have most of this prepared rather quickly, hence the name. We ended up waiting for about ten minutes for our order. It would have been less if it wasn't for the fact that when they finally came out with our order, they had several orders in their hand. I understand that you want to beat the times for the drive thru, but taking my order, me paying, and then asking me to move out of the way doesn't help the situation. Why have a drive thru if you are going to make me wait like I was dining inside? I will say, I was surprised by the food. Not enough for me to keep coming back. But for a meal to be eaten on the road, it served its purpose. I will say, I did really enjoy the fried pickles, I know it's not a menu item that is on there all the time, but it's nice to see them.
