We have been twice now, once for lunch and another for breakfast service. Both times, we adored the decor and overall feel of the place. However, I have always hoped to have the other server... we were unlucky to have the same lady both times (so definitely not just a bad day) who does not return the warmth you try to give her. She seemed very irritated by any questions, gave us our bill after only a few questions, and was never to be seen again which was sad because we would probably have gotten a dessert if it wouldn't have felt like an inconvenience. inconvenience. For the food, it was very pretty! It is definitely made with love! Just... not a ton of flavor. The in-house Honey Dutch syrup was sweet but not the in the traditional way that one associates with vanilla and they don't offer any other alternatives so I don't recommend ordering the French Toast as they are quite dry. They would have been lovely with tbe SMALLEST amount of syrup. The fruit portion was incredibly generous however. My partner's breakfast plate was again, underwhelming but not bad. read more

I've been going to Stella Bella and Lucy's since they first opened and can't believe I've never left a review. This Charming (yes, a capital C) place opened in downtown Waynesboro, Va as one of the first spots to help turn downtown around. With a miss-mash of antiques everywhere you turn, including old china for serving, you can't escape its eclectic creativeness. It has become a staple for brunch and lunch every day they are open. On a recent Thursday I found my self off from work so I met up with a friend for lunch. They were packed, luckily I knew to call ahead to make a reservation. Highly recommend! Although if you don't, they have a large communal table available too. The great thing about SBL is that everything is great. My favorite soup is the tomato basil bisque. I've had a variety of their salads and sandwiches as well and have never been disappointed. But on Thursdays I just learned, they have the grilled salmon BLT. This thing is massive, messy, and delicious. I may be taking another Thursday off just go eat this thing again. read more

I've been to this restaurant multiple times and had a pleasant experience -- until the last time. Food was OK, although there were substitutions. But the service was so rude. I arrived a bit ahead of the reservation, and my friend was 5 minutes late. When delivering my iced tea in that interval, the waitress sighed heavily when I asked for a glass of water, too. When she returned to take both food orders, she sighed again, more audibly, rolled her eyes and checked her watch when my friend was not ready to order. After maybe 5 minutes, the waitress was back and my friend was ready. Waitress sighed impatiently once again when my friend asked what the side options were. Rather that rattle them off, she pointed at the back of the menu. Apparently we took too long to eat our entrees. The waitress grabbed my plate without asking if I was finished. I hadn't actually decided if I was finished and there was lots of food left on the plate. Nor did the waitress ask if I wanted a doggy bag. The bill arrived promptly, before we had a chance to ask about desserts. We were still working on our drinks, when the waitress shut off the electric lights over us. I asked, "Are going to sweep us out the door with a broom next?" She responded petulantly that the would start vacuuming soon and, looking at her watch once again, said the restaurant was closed. Now, perhaps this was the case of one rude waitress. But I will never go to SB&L again. read more

We arrived in Waynesboro the night before and consulted Yelp and TripAdvisor for breakfast/brunch spots. This was #1 and deservedly so. We arrived too late for breakfast but, at 11:00 am, got right into the lunch menu. I ordered the Grilled Mushroom Cheese Melt (10/10) with the broccoli salad as a side. Quite notable was the attention to the size of the broccoli florets, which were perfect... smallish and not too large. I could have just had a big bowl of this salad, it was that good. My friend ordered the Tribeca sandwich with seasonal fruit (also a 10/10). The service was exceptional and the food delicious! We missed the quiche but if we ever come near Waynesboro again, we will definitely get there early. This is a very special place! read more

Enjoyed the Turkey Reuben, potato salad and broccoli salad. Consistently tasty every visit. The turkey seems hand carved and moist - leaving the bottom price of roasted rye bread slightly damp. The potato salad seems fresh - the celery 'crunches.' With big cubes of potato, and a slight sweetness, SB&L potato salad is among my favorites. The broccoli slaw has changed a little bit. The ingredients seem the same, and the bits seem to be chopped smaller. I am happy that more fits in my bowl. Portions are generous and I took about half home with me. The restaurant is open for brunch and lunch. Extra parking in the rear with a separate entrance (with steps.) Definitely recommend. read more

The restaurant is located in downtown Waynesboro. I tried the Granny, & a side of fruit. The place was quaint, & cute. I felt like I was eating in the middle of an antique restaurant. The name is all the name's of their dogs. The sandwich was tasty, I didn't realize the side of fruit would have an up charge, but that's okay, I was just trying to be healthy instead of getting chips haha. Incredible! We are visiting from out of state and we found this place on Yelp. My friend and I, both Males in our early ish 40's and when we walked in, we were not sure what to think. It looks like a cute Grandmother's decorated kitchen and dining room and there were a lot of Grandmothers seated at the tables. We tried a cross section of foods after a long hike earlier in the morning. The crab cakes and pineapple boat were amazing! Seriously the best crab cakes I've ever had! While the menu selection breakfast is not extensive, the food was good. The croissant sandwich with scanned eggs and bacon was wonderful, I think the cooked opinions helped give it that little but something extra. Stoped in for a quick breakfast mid-week.I was quickly greeted and offered a seat and menu. Shortly after I was seated, my waitress (Joyce I believe) came over and was such a delight! I ordered hot tea and the omelet breakfast. The food was excellent! Extremely fresh and hot...super tasty. The decor of this place is a wonderful nod to antiques; each table top decor was crafted individually. The articles on the walls were well dusted; overall an extremely clean place. I love this place and have eaten there often, but something was wrong on a Saturday lunch time. I ordered a soup/half sandwich combo and my friend a regular brunch item. It took almost an hour for food to arrive. Waitress was not spotted on the floor very much and did not keep advised on our meal status, and didn't appear to sometime after the food was brought out by someone else. But about an hour or so into our lunch we were asked to leave and not in a friendly manner either. A mgr came to our table and said "I need you to leave as we need the table".
