Absolutely fantastic concert-going experience last night to see Kim Churchill and Sons of the East, two acts out of Australia that are incredible, in such an intimate venue!! The staff of The Basement East were gracious, enthusiastic and very friendly. Everyone from Security, Tickets, Merch Table, Bartender, and the lady staffing the "Smoking Porch" were all great!! I wish there was just a regular porch and not a smoking porch, but thankfully no one was smoking when I stepped out to get fresh air. Sound was amazing. Lights super cool. Bathrooms were clean. Love all the decals!

Tonight was my very first time going to see music at The Basement East!!! I don't know why it has taken me so long to check out a band here...I was the lucky winner of 2 free tickets to see Austin Meade (opening act) & the Read Southall Band - THANK YOU @NowPlayingNashville The music was great and the venue is simple and easy to navigate. I highly recommended coming early to grab a seat at the high bar tables... (most of the venue is standing room only). There is a free parking lot and nearby street parking. I'm not sure If everyone was at LOTG but it wasn't that busy tonight. I'm not sure how the venue picks the lineup but I thought both bands were really good! Austin is from Texas - favorite song was Savannah! Read Southall is from Oklahoma and describes themselves as Southern Rock & Crunchy Country . My favorite song was "Why?" - Loved belting out the lyrics! The drinks were great and the bartender was really nice.

Great show! Standing only. Bar; no food. Paid parking lot. Reasonable ticket prices. Always a fun time.

SOUND: Oh goodness, the ALT Aaron Lee Tasjan band and the rest of the FOUR TWENTY line up sounded amazing!! It didn't seem to matter where I stood, out in the crowd it was so so good. It was so loud and people were also talking so loud. HEAT VS AC: It was maybe in the 60s during the day and felt cool in the room and then it filled up and man it was SO HOT! Everyone started moving towards the door to catch the cool breeze every time the door opened! PARKING: Unfortunately if you arrive any later than at least one hour before doors open it's hard to find a FREE parking spot (and nearby). I recommend arriving around 7pm if doors are 8pm, and walk down to 5 points for pizza or burgers then walk back for the show. Typically the band goes on at 9pm, so it's perfect timing. DRINKS: Sadly I did not end up getting a drink to comment on the pricing or taste. FOOD: Wait! I saw someone posted about food!! I didn't know that they had food!!?!?! I love bar ish food! I'm so bummed I didn't find out until reading some other reviews on here.

If your in Nashville, this is a relaxed spot to enjoy a variety of live music. The vibe can be what you want, the bar selection is unique and revolving, and parking is assessable nearby for free.

One of the best places to see a show. This is a low key venue with great acoustics and views. I purchased a general admission ticket to a sold out show and it was the perfect amount of people without being too crowded. There are two bars that serve good, reasonably priced drinks. Highly recommend this venue.

Big crowd for Geddy's book signnig
    Mark S.

Great establishment and did a great job with the Geddy Lee book signing and Q&A. Huge crowd, lots of us crazy Rush fans lined up early for a chance to be up close and personal with the Big Beautiful Book of Bass author Geddy and get a signed copy. The staff is awesome with crowd management - getting everyone in quickly, managing the crowd inside and organizing a great event. I'm sure it's just a good on a music night, but here on a Sunday evening for a author's Q&A and signing, they did a great job and made everyone feel welcomed and comfortable! Thanks for a fun night!

You can check out the calendar to see what they're playing for the night, the ambiance in there is great-definitely a mix of LA & New York. It's a mix crowd which I love. The manager & all the staff there are very welcoming, I normally reserve a table there when I go & the prices are very reasonable.

Nashville's lounge revolution continues. We've gotten Nashville's take on Brooklyn, LA and Vegas…read more the back corner is very Miami Beach. When I walked in I, immediately, thought of Haven (RIP https://www.yelp.com/biz/haven-miami-beach-2). From the LED wall to the music to the drinks to the vibe... I didn't feel like I was in Nashville anymore. the back corner stands out and gives Middle Tennesseans something that's not readily available in this area. If you're in the mood for a little coastal cosmopolitanness (is that word? It's not a word), the back corner is about to be your new favorite place. The neighborhood gets things moving in the right direction. For as much as Germantown has (scenic streets, fancy high rises, coffee, good eats) it didn't have a nightlife destination. Putting one here makes a lot of sense. Building off the 5th & Taylor imprint, the back corner starts off fancy (but not pretentious) and builds to memorable. Upon entry, the first thing you notice is the LED wall and stage. With a changing display of electronic intoxication, you're drawn into a world far away from Lower Broad. If you can break your gaze away from the stage, you'll notice the upper and lower lounge seating. Intimate, cozy and a bit mysterious, the seating at the back corner lets you decide whether you want to be front & center or if you're rather sit back and take it all in. You can be as public or private as you'd like. If indoor seating isn't your thing, make your way outside to enjoy the fire pit and Germantown night sky. Just do us all a favor and refrain from smoking. Seeing cigarette butts along the patio or by (in??) the fire pit is not sexy and very off-brand. All the above said and noted, the back corner is not a huge space -- which is a plus and minus. It's a plus because it never becomes the cavernous mess of bass and desperation. The minus is crowds gonna crowd and with a lot of people, the space will be tight. I don't know how to fix that. I suppose a velvet rope and waitlist will keep crowds at bay but neither feels very Nashville. Hmm... Another minus (relating to the size) is that there's only one bar. One bar in a space this cool is a bit tight. I know the space behind the bar isn't huge but I would staff it with 3 bartenders at a time so as to keep up with the crowd. Because you're going to want to drink. A lot. The cocktail program at the back corner is a bit unusual for Nashville -- and very Miami. Expect rum, colors and a boozy punch. Actually, the menu could use a punch. Get on that, tbc. Re drink progression... start with the gimlet. It's pretty to look at and refreshing to drink. All the mixers, juices, etc. are made in house so you're getting quality fare. From there, hit the No. 4 and, then, the No. 2. If you're still upright, drink some water. Water? Who am I kidding? Cocktails! You're in Miami, [redacted]! Well, sorta. If you need some noshes, 5th & Taylor is serving up bites. Don't come here for dinner. Who eats food? Let the music and booze nourish your body. As perfect as the back corner is for DJ sets, live music (this *is* Nashville, after all) works as well. the back corner isn't the Downtown dance club people have wanted for a (looooong) while. But it is a welcome addition to the city's nightlife scene and, very possibly, you're new favorite place to go. Bienvenidos a Nashville.

Parking was easy, with plenty of street parking nearby. We had a 5 p.m. reservation and arrived around 4:52. The doors were locked, and although an employee was standing just inside, we were asked to wait outside until exactly 5. Normally that wouldn't be a big deal, but it was about 95 degrees, I'm eight months pregnant, and we had three young kids with us. That wasn't a great first impression, and I think if reservations begin at 5, guests should be able to come inside a few minutes early. Once the doors opened, we were seated promptly. They had a high chair ready for our youngest, and our server was excellent throughout the meal. The restaurant has a trendy, upscale atmosphere, and while our oldest did great, I think it's a better fit for adults than families with very young children. One thing I really appreciated was that when we realized they only had glass cups available, our server found paper coffee cups for the kids. It was a small gesture that made the meal much less stressful. The sausage biscuits are still outstanding and easily my favorite item on the menu. The steak was good, but I wasn't impressed with the Cobb salad. Our kids shared the fried chicken and mac and cheese, and my husband ordered the pot roast. Our bill came to about $190 before tip. Overall, the meal was good, but it didn't feel like the special dining experience I remembered from previous visits. Between the rough start, the prices, and food that was good but not particularly memorable, I don't see us returning anytime soon. The service was kind, but for this price point, I expected more.

The steak was cooked and seasoned well, the salad featured a standout buttermilk dill dressing that I really loved, unlimited rolls with that perfect touch of sweetness and salt, and a huge basket that's half onion rings, half fries. I was stuffed! The fries deserve a special mention. Thicker cut with an incredibly crispy exterior, almost like a potato skin in fry form. For drinks, I ordered their Filthy Martini and they let me call my gin of choice. Gin drinkers, you'll appreciate that. It was well crafted and exactly what I wanted. A few practical things worth knowing before you go. There is a $10 charge added to your bill that goes directly to the band, which I think is completely reasonable especially given the meal you're also getting. Parking is not validated or covered so plan accordingly. The band playing when we visited Saturday around 7:30 wasn't the most memorable I've heard in Nashville, but the lineup rotates so your experience may vary. Either way, having live music as the backdrop while you eat adds a really nice energy to the evening. Overall a worthwhile and unique addition to the Nashville dining scene.
