This place has been on my list of places to try for a while now. I got to try it with my friend Kate last week. We came on a Thursday night. It was packed! There was no more parking in the lot, and we waited about 30 minutes to get a table. They have a lot of good menu options, but I ended up choosing an appetizer of Short Rib Poutine. I have always wanted to try a poutine. The fries itself were very good. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce or short ribs. They were a little to sour for my liking so I won't be ordering them again. I tried some of Kate's brussel sprouts and I loved them. Service however was impeccable with the waitress and rest of the staff all being very attentive to our needs. Great place to meet a group of friends, enjoy quality food in a fun atmosphere. I am not a fan of Brussels sprouts, but these were really good. I had the black and blue burger. I did opt to get the sweet potatoes as my side and was warned by the waitress they can be spicy but decided to go with them due to them being labeled as "mild." Once I began eating multiple of them, I probably would rate them more of a moderate heat level and had to have my husband finish the rest. I've eaten at the battery twice and have yet to be disappointed. First time I had Brussels and the grilled cheese and tomato soup. This go round we had the club with the goddess salad as the side and the chicken Philly. All food has been ordered as take out and chefs kiss. The Brussels and the club sandwich were my faves and I'd definitely get both again. The flavor profile on the Brussels is everything and they are perfectly crisp but let's talk about this club. The food was fast and presented well. The restaurant itself appeared newer and very clean. It had an industrial vibe. Me and my husband first time visited this place base on the review. I ordered a smash burger and my husband ordered 3 appetizers as meal. We were sitting there for almost an hour but there were no food came out. I tried the smoked wings which can come with white, buffalo, or Korean BBQ sauce and they were nice enough to give me all 3 on the side. The waitress said they could make any of their specialty cocktails into mocktails so I ordered the Homewood Honey. It was delightfully sweet & sour, but not overpowering. I ordered the Korean BBQ tacos & they were quite good. I would have preferred them in the traditional Korean buns though. Our waitress was very friendly. TVs were on local UAB basketball.
