The food is outstanding. Among our favorites is the gumbo, cornbread, Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Chicken and any of the Mac and Cheeses.

I love this place. This was my second time here and I brought my coworker who also enjoyed it. I started off with a Hurricane and it was made perfectly. I had the Shrimp and Grits and Fried Green Tomatoes which I highly recommended. The grits were creamy and the shrimp were delicious. The batter on the tomatoes made them nice and crispy. I had an alcoholic coffee drink which was like an adult Frappuccino and I love their chicory coffee which made the drink even better. I recently went to both locations, the one in Easton and one in Bethlehem. The food was very good in both. I like the atmosphere better in Easton. For some odd reason they have a big open doior to the kitchen in Bethlehem right near the dining tables, it's a very bright light that kind of kills the ambiance. We moved to the bar and it was better. My friend has a chicken and I had the ribs both were very good. The corn bread is to die for! read more

We just so happen to stop by town for an escape room adventure and decided to stop here for a quick brunch. The green tomatoes were amazing. It was so fresh and crunchy! The special sauce was delicious. The fried chicken was tasty too and not dry at all. The sweet potatoes were a bit weird as it also had some salty taste to it. The duck poboy was huge in size so we bought it home and finished it for lunch along with the yummy cheese grits. The beignets seemed to be a "must get" from the previous comments we saw on yelp but it wasn't our favorite dish here. I think next time we will try all the appetizers vs main dishes as they seem to have an awesome selection there and the drink menu too (if we don't have to drive next time ;)) read more

We got the jambalaya, Nashville style fried chicken, brisket Mac and cheese, collard greens, corn bread, and shrimp po boy. Everything was delicious. The best thing was the brisket Mac and cheese which was very tasty and flavorful. The corn bread is a must try; it was perfectly moist and buttery. My husband and I decided to patron this place on a date night because we have heard so many good things. We weren't disappointed. My husband had the Oyster Poboy and I had the Bayou Mac and Cheese. I can't speak for his meal since I'm not an oyster person, but mine was TO DIE FOR. it's considered a small plate there but let me tell you, I had leftovers that we feasted on for 2 more meals. It's very filling. I think it's the best mac and cheese I have ever had in my life. The menu isn't huge, but it has a good selection of New Orleans cuisine. The atmosphere was also pleasant. Jazz music was playing and the place is just the right size. I imagine this place gets busy duri g peak hours so plan accordingly. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the me u doesn't have alot of non meat options...but maybe that's because of the cuisine type. I really wanted to love this place. We headed there based on the reviews but we were sadly disappointed. Their award winning mac and cheese was bland. The award winning fried chicken came out dark dark brown. I thought maybe it was just the seasoning but unfortunately it tasted like old oil. Jambalaya was just okay with the tiniest crawfish pieces I've ever seen. The service was fine and the interior was a nice vibe. I gave it a try and ordered what was recommended. Went recently for dinner and we were really looking forward to it, but the poor service really affected our experience. Our server was brusque and after bringing our drinks she disappeared until our food arrived, never checking to see if we wanted a refill. We had wanted another cocktail before dinner and had to flag down another waitress and ask her to find ours. She never checked to see if we needed anything and made no suggestions for dessert. I realize everyone can have an off night but people are eating out less these days and it was a disappointment. I only gave 2 stars because the fried chicken was really good. Might be my favorite restaurant. Everything I've ever had here is EXCELLENT. My go-to is the chicken sandwich, though. Pierogis and mashed sweet potatoes are top notch. But like I said, I've never had even something mediocre here and I've tried most of the menu. Grab a jalapeño margarita if you're dining in. read more

Just... wow The Bayou has been on our need to go list for a while now and we finally checked it out. The building itself is so cute and has a ton of character, and I love a place that decorated for holidays (such subtle but appreciated Halloween Knick knacks here and there) The drinks were good but what truly was impressive was the food. It's rare to find a place that checks both quality and quantity boxes on one plate, but the Bayou did just that for EVERYTHING we ordered! These massive plates were beyond delicious. Completely worth every penny. We got the short rib, 1/2 rack of ribs, and a side of Brussels sprouts. DELICIOUS! I think the most impressive part of our experience was our server. She was so attentive and kind. She checked on us and offered her opinion which made choosing our meals easy. It's been difficult to find good service in general lately, made even more so difficult by covid, but that was not the case at the Bayou! 10/10 would recommend to a friend. read more

Finally getting to writing a yelp review for this place, then I remembered I have for 2015 on opentable: This old review a 3 stars Appetizer and dessert were delicious, entrees were okay. Corn bread and Mac and cheese were great most and flavorful. Beignets were perfectly fried and huge portion. Salmon portion for an entree was small and accompanying sauce was lacking flavor. Fried chicken portion was large, but fry oil could have been changed. Sweet potato mash was okay, was disappointed with pickles. Overall very disappointed with lack of ambiance. Sad I chose this place for my 30th over the melt. I requested a more intimate table and stated the occasion. Good for a date night but for special occasions it's too packed. Fast forward to 2017... It's still hard to get a reservation here and it's usually packed. The Saturday we came back to try it again the harvest fest was going on on Main st as well as a food truck fest in Easton. So lucky us it was empty, 4 patrons inside :) We had the corn bread, they changed the butter? it was okay. My cocktail was potent and delicious. Born in LA and gotta say those beignets and coffee Mmmm! thank you cafe du monde lol. The fried chicken this time was better. Fiancee would have preferred more dark meat pieces. I wonder if you can request? The pickles the same, from where or who did I heard they were really good homemade??? I dunno... I guess I prefer more spices in my pickling. We opted for fries over the mash and they were good. Ordered the crab cake. It was good rich and tasty. I love corn and crab so hit all my happy face marks. 4.5 outta 5 Compared to local places in Bethlehem this place is 5 stars all the way. If I put it against my Houstonian foodie and Louisianian roots it's a 4. Overall the food is good, the owner does well on upkeep and customer service. Some things I dislike are personal preference. The things I love originated from a LA local shop lol. They must being doing well because a second location is up in Easton. Catfish with collards and a couple of po boys one brisket and one hamhock with green tomatoes!. You might get crispy fried chicken that tastes great one night, and then dry overly fried chicken that has an aftertast of fish the next time. when food quality is inconsistent, it is the sign of a poorly managed and poorly staffed restaurant.
