Worst restaurant visit for us in a very long time. There were three clubs meeting today, one motorcycle, and two Jeep, some or all for toy drives. The back lawn was full of people and so were all the tables. There was no manager in sight, we had one server who had his first day waiting tables, one bartender and probably one cook. They were out of gator, and ran out of Dr. Pepper and Shiner. Two of our meals were totally left out, the shrimp po'boy was on Texas toast instead of a French roll, and without any condiment. The salad while fresh, had watered down ranch dressing. The French fries weren't nearly as good as previously. Several ladies from a Jeep group were running around taking orders from tables to help out. With so many customers, management should have had way more employees working. Possibly one of the worst dining experiences our family has ever had. There was a big jeep and toy drive event happening and there was ONE server and ONE bartender. The server also mentioned it was his FIRST DAY serving. That off the bat shows extremely poor management to set their staff up for failure like that on a Saturday lunch during an event. My husband's shrimp po'boy had four shrimp total, no sauce, and was around $14. The bread was not an authentic french roll. I never got my meal and neither did our toddler. There were women from the event waiting tables because there was no staff. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

First time here- Tristan was our server , he provided great service prompt, friendly enough, and efficient. We ordered Boudin Balls tasty, but I don't taste any liver- does have a perfect crunch , they may appear to some folks burnt, but honestly, they are not burnt! I am not a fan of remoulade sauce, so Tristan kindly put it on side, I loved Ashley's( owner) sauce , it was delicious- I can taste horseradish but not too much and a great tangy flavor like mustard being perhaps an ingredient:, so yummy ! Shrimp grits had a great buttery flavor beautifully presentation - shrimp size was perfect. Portions were huge, and filling, I ordered spicy, but could use a tad more cayenne pepper IMO, but great flavor nonetheless. Gumbo had okra, tomatoes, tender pieces chicken, salad shrimp, and andouille sausage. Live music in the bar, loud enough to hear if seated in the front ( great singer ), great time was had - we enjoyed everything today I took pics of what we ordered. It's 6:30 on a Saturday night... Ordered the wedge with chicken. Half head of lettuce with the heart still in it arrives Chicken crumbles scattered over it. Wife ordered shrimp and grits. Swimming in orange grease and no flavor. Staff seams disinterested and rudderless. Have your waiter or waitress announce specials, inform clients of unavailable entrees. Basic stuff. We were not the only ones having concerns. Lady behind us was loud about parmesan fries having no parmesan, two table over sent their food back. Someone help these people read more

Just image a group of 13 women entering your restaurant for lunch. Many would blink twice and think about leaving for the day. A group of ladies from Rolling Creek Ranch had lunch at The Bayou on Acton Hwy today. Celebrating birthdays, lent, St Patrick's and Spring. we were treated very well from the time we were seated to the time we left 2 hours later. Went Memorial Day weekend with a friend and his family. Service was great and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I ordered the shrimp po boy with garlic fries and both were great! My friend ordered the steak with baked potato and mac and cheese and enjoyed everything except the mac and cheese. Would prefer it to be more creamy and less thick. Rest of his family seemed to enjoy their meals although were a bit bummed that they were out of cornbread. I'm not sure what all they ordered. All in all I'd give them 4.5 stars. Hopefully they'll work on the mac and cheese and maybe add a few more menu options to try. read more

The atmosphere was fun and the service was friendly and prompt. The disappointment was in the food. It felt like the chef was following a cook book but had no personal experience in what Cajun food should taste like. As someone who has been to New Orleans multiple times, I do know. For starters, the corn bread muffins were dry. The crab cakes were more like pancakes. While the flavors were there, they were so thin you didn't get much to taste. The jambalaya was dry and came out cold. We had to send it back. The shrimp etouffe was more of a tomato sauce instead of the rich brown roux it should have been. Also, some of the rice was so undercooked that it actually hurt to bite down on. The shrimp and grits and red beans and rice were the only dishes that were spot on. The shrimps were sautéed perfectly so they were tender and flavorful. While I was complimentary of the staff, no one asked how we enjoyed our meals which is why I'm posting this review. read more

Gave this place numerous tries before leaving a review. Yesterday was the 7th and final try in the last 7 months. Every single time, they are out of food. Always blamed on a busy night before. We came different days at different times. Always the same excuse. The owner/co owners came out and gave us a list of 8 or 10 things on the menu they did have. Couple of apps, mains, and salads. We all order from that. They bring out the food 4 out of the 6 recieved their meals the other two were told they ran out I f their food. The food that did come was horrible. Friday night, 6:45, not very busy. Wife and I get seated. Waitress comes to take our order for drinks. Drinks delivered. Ask if we would like to order. Ordered gator bites, we are out of those. Ok, how about frog legs, we are out of those also. The rude waitress walks off without asking us if there's anything else we would want to order. The service was poor, the orders incorrect, and overcooked. Rarely have I been so excited to try a place and been this disappointed. When told about the issues, they didn't amend our bill, and I had to find someone to inform about the issues myself because the waitress was not attentive. No silverware, no sauce, no napkin. Not impressed. Most of the food is fried frozen. The jambalaya tasted like Mexican rice with tons of tomato and Tony's Cajun seasoning. The chicken was boiled diced then added. The boudin balls were frozen and fried to crunch overload. The waitress was sub par and we were told that we could not make changes like adding sauces on the side because that's not how it's made. There were 13 of us and the only this worth eating g was the shrimp and grits because we were hungry. read more

I liked the small menu. Simple and easy choices. We ordered the Boudin Balls as an appetizer. They were excellent, but pricey. My plate of Jambalaya n' Rice was good the first two or three bites. But I stirred it up and suddenly I hit a section of spice that took my breath away. I specifically ordered "No Spice", and ended up eating the remainder of my wife's plate of Shrimp & Grits, which is very good. I love spicey food, especially Mexican food. Just not THAT effing hot in my Cajun/Sea Food. Then, while trying to keep my lips from burning off I ran out of tea very quickly, and had to go find my waitress to get a refill. Surprisingly that still never prompted a refill visit, and we never saw her till check time, and we were the second table of customers to be seated in the entire restaurant that I saw. The atmosphere is cool, and would get a big thumbs up from me if not for the flies. We were completely overwhelmed with flies inside. Flies in our faces. Flies in our food. Flies crawling on our straws and on the edge of our drink glasses. That was the quick end to our visit. I'd recommend that management to visit with customers and get feed back at the tables.
