Back here for a second visit, but this time we stopped by just for the bar. Seating is first come, first served, and it was fairly packed on a Saturday evening, though we were still able to find two seats without too much trouble. The bar area itself looked great and felt spacious, making it a comfortable place to sit and unwind despite the crowd. I ordered the Gin Blossom, while my partner got a vodka-based drink along with a Long Island Iced Tea. The bartenders were friendly and welcoming, and the drinks were made well and tasted great. Celebrated a friend's birthday on Saturday. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Our party of three was seated in a comfortable booth. There are huge areas for large groups. Beautiful view but bring a jacket if you get cold easily. Cocktails were tasty and served promptly. Two of us shared the Crab Cobb Salad and the 3rd enjoyed all of the sea bass. We ordered fresh baked bread, truffle fries and duck fat hasbrowns. Everything tasted fresh. Cob salad is too large for one person (in my opinion). My friend loved the sea bass. Fries were average as were the has browns. My friend was giving ice cream for her birthday and we ordered the cornbread Madeline's. Our server was friendly and attentive. This was such a beautiful restaurant. It felt kind of hidden in the corner but lavish interior compliments the gorgeous view of the ocean. They also have a photobooth inside. I've had the oysters and steaks (Ribeye) because I missed the pot pie day, and I wasn't disappointed, nice crust and buttery, melt in your mouth bites. The waitresses barely came by. They took the drink menus right after we ordered drinks which made it feel a little rushed Our waitress came by twice, once to take our order and once with the check. I had a meeting with my advisor, and he picked A's on PCH for our lunch meeting. Parking is complimentary for 90 minutes at the parking garage or complimentary street on the back side of business. The eatery has a nice interior, and we sat at a booth next to the bar. There's even a photo booth and is no charge for customers. Our cordial waiter who was bartending also waited on us and was gracious to not rush us since it was a business meeting and we dined for several hours. I opted for the skirt steak plate which included fingerling potatoes and broccolini. My steak was cooked to my request and the meal was satisfying. We liked the menu choices and it was tough to choose from because everything sounded great. A thoughtful touch: they actually acknowledged our celebration note, which so many places overlook these days. On Mondays and Tuesdays they offer a chicken pot pie wrapped in the most delicious puff pastry, and it was easily the best pot pie I've ever had. Absolute must-order. No complaints here. However, everyone in my party ordered from the main menu and everything just fell a little short. Dishes were bland and didn't/couldn't warrant the price. The flavor was good, but it was a bit too salty for my taste. The team handled it beautifully -- they immediately took it off the bill with no hesitation, which I really appreciated. I went up to "A" to have an early dinner. It was nearing sunset, so I sat a a table near the windows overlooking the Marina. I started with the delicious Miele Kalikimaka specialty cocktail...so yummy! Then I ordered the clam chowder and grilled cheese sandwich. They did not disappoint. The Chowder was perfect, creamy with lots of clams and potatoes. The Grilled Cheese was prepared with lots of cheese on a thick crusty bread, and was perfection. Service was very good! We tried the spicy yellowfin tuna and it has a strong seafood flavor, I didn't feel any spicy flavor. The bbq carrots were good but it's an appetizer to share with at least 4 people. And the main dish, the ribeye was well cooked as we ordered medium, but in general every dish needed extra flavor, we added salt to everything so I would comeback and I would try the hamburgers and any other dish next time. My mom had reservations for 5 of us on a Tuesday at 11:30 (their opening). We were greeted very warmly by one of their hostesses and were told we were in very good hands with our waitress, Tammy. Everyone that served us, and especially Tammy was so kind! Tammy had such a cheerful and positive attitude. She was the best!     I got one of their appetizers as my main, which were the fish tacos. I believe the fish they use changes but on this day happened to be sea bass. There were thinner strips of fish fried in a light tempura batter. I prefer more whole pieces of fish for tacos but it was still good! On top there was a cabbage slaw, pickled onions, a chipotle aioli and a salsa verde on the side. These were great elements that added a freshness to cut through the carbs and fats. I'm also used to my taco tortillas being corn but again, still a great dish.     The mocktail of the day was a blackberry mint lemonade. It seemed a little watered down and could've used a bit more sugar but was pretty good. I also tried some truffle fries which were the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The truffle flavor was there but not overly strong. They were good especially for being thick cut. Our table also shared a slice of their French silk pie. The chocolate portion was a little more sweet and heavy than I'm used to for a French silk pie but it was good for a more rich dessert. The Oreo cream it came with was another sweet little addition.     Overall, the food was very well-presented and tasty. And our experience was that much better because of Tammy and the other team members, and even the free photobooth! read more

First time I've been to A PCH. Checked out their Happy Hour. They have seating inside and out; closed patio area with booths and tables. A nice marina view (some includes the parking lot) and luckily have shades to cut down the sun glare as its setting. Our server, Alexandria, was great. Her recommendations were spot on. We checked out the Steak Tartare first. It was a good presentation albeit I think a regular chicken egg too big. I prefer a quail egg and/or perhaps only the yolk of a chicken egg. I chopped up the egg and mixed it all in but in retrospect should have just added in the yolk. Think it could also use a bit of mustard, horseradish and/or capers to mix it. But served with 6 perfectly grilled baguette slices. Moved onto the Spicy Yellowfin Tuna (recommended) which is perched upon tempura eggplant slices. The wasabi tobiko that adorns the top was something I have never been exposed to and have been to Japan numerous times. These 5 little dollops were wonderful. Somewhat leary about "doing" a pizza but since recommended by Alexandria we ordered The Fancy Pizza and were delighted. A thin crust, light pesto/honey sauce, thin prosciutto, covered with fresh arugula and a nice dollop of burrata it was the perfect ending. A smart restaurant - and A is definitely in that category - has a well-trained staff and offers a wonderful Happy Hour menu that makes you want to come back for a full meal! I'll be back. read more

Now onto the food: the yellowfin tuna appetizer was a 10/10 twist on the usual crispy rice -- they serve it over crispy eggplant instead, and it absolutely works. Genius move. The rigatoni with duck and ricotta, however... good on paper, not so much in practice. The sauce was watery, and the ricotta looked suspiciously like shredded tofu. A creative miss. The charred broccolini and mac & cheese, though, totally redeemed things -- both were perfection. Service was great, vibes were coastal-chic with TVs for the game, and prices are what you'd expect for being right off the PCH. Big lot, but somehow still tricky parking (classic LA). I went on Valentine's Day and had such a lovely experience! They gave a rose to all the ladies, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the night. They were busy and wrong orders were brought to our table couple times. I came in on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. Despite not having a reservation, we were quickly seated. The hostess did ask if we were okay sitting by the window, indicating that it was quite sunny, which I was okay with. It was, however, very bright and was definitely hot under the sun (but that's on me for not realizing how bright it would be). The interior of the restaurant gives off old classic steakhouse vibes and is definitely a vibey date spot. We ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer. The cocktail was an apple flavored seasonal drink. It was well crafted and the flavors were well balanced. My friend ordered an Americano, but said that he should've just gotten an espresso martini instead. The beef tartare was a substantial portion and was a sizeable portion for an appetizer. It was fresh and was some of the best beef tartare I've had yet.
