They had me at Bloody Mary. And for 7.50, it was meant to try it out. We walked around Main Street looking for someplace for lunch and ended up here. Saw the open patio as we had the little pup with us. Noticed the hostess cleaning one of the tables and asked here if it was ok to have our pup with us. Of course she said, which we later seen that so many people would pop in with their fur babies. We checked in which there was about 4 other parties ahead of us. We were wanting the patio seating which they had plenty of seating but still had to wait for a table. It was about a 10 minute wait or so. They were going by the sign in sheet. Hostess was quite sweet and friendly. We got seating which there with plenty of seating still available. There was also hi top bar seating where it seemed like it was first come first serve seating. Menu for the place looked quite interesting. They had breakfast but it was only served till a certain time. Of course the reason we stopped in here was for the Bloody Mary deal we saw for 7.50. Not sure if it's all week or only on for the weekend. Found out that it goes on till 5:30 I believe. Of course we had to try it out. It was a pretty decent size and extra spicy how we like it. Adorned with celery stick, pickle slice, pearl onion, olives and perppercini. For the price, it was quite nice. I thought they would have just used the premixed but it was quoted that each one was made specifically. Quite tasty I must say. Entrees, we just went for a salad. The poke salad on top of mix spring greens was excellent. Nice full chunks of poke in a nice glaze and served with dressing on the side. Portion wise was massive for the price. And the Cobb salad. Your classic with all the usual toppings. Grilled chicken with bacons, tomatoes, avocado, eggs blue cheese crumbles and black olives. Food was nice. Nothing major but they were great. We did also order a side of fries which never came out but later didn't see it on the bill. Waitress must have not heard us ordering it. It was fine. The food was great and service was nice. Seating situation was by the list but we noticed that you could just walk in and have a seat along the patio hi top tables.

Our second visit since we started our visit in SoCal. Parking in the tea is pretty tight. We were able to get a spot in their lot, even though a couple of large pickups made it even tighter! I decided on their California Citrus Salad with Salmon while my wife had a bowl of tomato bisque while splitting a basket of house chips. Delicious! Our sever/bar tender was lovely and friendly! We truly appreciated her hospitality! We just might be back again before we leave in a few weeks!

I was really excited to show my friend how good the smash burger is, but after giving it such a strong recommendation, I ended up disappointed. The burger tasted like it had been sitting out--it arrived cold and didn't feel freshly made. I was enjoying my second beer and taking my time, but I started to feel rushed by the waitress, as if they needed to turn the table during a shift change. I didn't appreciate that at all. I paid for the meal, and I should be able to leave when I'm ready.

We went for brunch. It looks to be mainly a bar but they have a descent sized food menu. I got the Irish Nachos which was basically like eating a sliced loaded baked potato. It was large. Our server was friendly and attentive (routinely checked to see if we needed refills and how we were doing) and seating wasn't difficult.

Great happy hour 4-7pm M-F. The prime dip was great! Same with the salad. Good service, I will be back!

Highly recommend! Came here during lunch break with coworkers. Hennessey's Tavern serves American food; burgers, soup/salad, and sandwiches. I ordered the burger of the month, it was the BBQ Brisket Pretzel Burger ($19.75). It comes with a side of fries. It was super massive and delicious. I highly recommend this burger if you love meat. They have a small parking lot but i assume it's small. There's lots of parking space in the steet but it's all full and usually have to get lucky to find a space. Also not sure how seatings work here. We entered the restaurant, no one greeted us, so we just sat down at a table. Servers have to keep a keen eye out for new customers that sit down at the tables without them knowing. Interior is roomy and has cool decorations.

So we were out to grab a bite to eat and the live music won me over. The dude performing was amazing and took all of our request. We grabbed some drinks and got the French Fry sampler. This was a first for me, but the plain fries and aioli was my favorite. Not to say the garlic fries and spicy fries weren't great as well. For my main I got the steak and shrimp and it did not disappoint. I got my steak medium and it was cooked just right. The mash potatoes and greens were a great pairing and it capped of a nice meal. This place is legit and the live music makes it even better

Top is the burger of the month, brisket burger. Bottom is the Frisco Burger!!! Enjoy!!!!

Today is Memorial Day, 5/26/25. We came in at the perfect time, which was about a1pm. Got seated right away. Now the place is filling up. Great atmosphere. Today we had the Fish and Chips- excellent. Three hearty fish sticks... and fries. Also had the Chicken Club on Sourdough. Hubby said it was very good. It comes with house made chips, and if you want to upgrade to fries instead, it cost $2.00. Hubby had a Bloody Mary, very good. Made with a house made mix, with the traditional peppery spices. Overall, the place is happin' and had tasty food. We a regular; love this place.

I visited today on a very personal and emotional anniversary, hoping to sit at a table that holds a meaningful memory for me. I quietly explained this to the hostess and asked if it would be possible. Even though I offered to order enough for a larger table and there were other open tables available, I was told no. When I asked if management could reconsider, the response felt dismissive and lacking any empathy. I understand restaurants have policies, but kindness and compassion don't cost anything. Today was already a difficult day, and the way this was handled made it even harder. I left and I won't be returning, but I hope in the future there's more understanding for guests who may be going through something personal. (not me sitting in the car crying)

Won't be coming back. Charged $2 for ice per drink.

Beware** they charged me for ice at $2 a drink and didnt even advise prior. They didnt sculpt the ice , the werent specialty ice cubes. Just ordered Jameson. Wasn't a mixed drink..won't be coming back.

This is a nice little tavern in Old Town Seal Beach. They open early for breakfast. Lunch items are available at 11am. Check out the specials. You'll be happy you did. I had the Thursday Smash Burger with fries. It was a double burger with bacon and grilled onions. This was an amazing burger, one of the best I've had in a while. The fries were crispy just how I like them. They even brought a side of Ranch for my fries. All this for only $7 wow. The service is really good. I'm coming back to try some of their menu items.

    I'm here for this
    ThomaS T.

$7 for the burger and it comes with fries. I fully enjoyed every bite. Total was about $10 something with tip. I would definitely come back for this special

We had such a wonderful time at Hennessey's Tavern in Seal Beach this morning! The environment is amazing--relaxed, welcoming, and with great music that made Friday brunch feel extra special. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, which was delicious, and my husband got the vegan burger with a side salad. He was very happy with his meal, and we really appreciated how our waitress was super kind, friendly, and attentive--she even double-checked everything about the vegan food to make sure it was just right. Seal Beach has a lot of great spots, but this one stands out for the combination of good food, great service, and a fun vibe. Thank you, Hennessey's Tavern, for making our brunch such a lovely experience--we'll definitely be back!

It's in a good location but $11 for a pint of Guinness is absolutely criminal and insane. 2 pints was $24 with tax. Never again.

I'm a sucker for a good benedict, so I ordered their Irish Benedict, which is made with corned beef. This thing was loaded! It was so much food that I took about half home as leftovers. The corned beef was tender and juicy and went well with the hollandaise. I like a little more hollandaise on my benedicts, but that's personal preference. I had a tea with my meal, which was ok. I hoped that an Irish establishment would be better at handling tea than American places are, but I also understand it's a bar and most people aren't coming here to order a hot tea. There was a soccer game on when I arrived and the place was packed, but it cleared out pretty quickly once the game ended. This is a lively pub, not somewhere to come if you're looking for a quiet ambiance. That's not a bad thing, but I've noticed a few people mentioning it with surprise in other reviews so I'm pointing it out to help other people make choices in line with the type of dining experience they want to have. I personally didn't find the noise of the sports or sports fans overwhelming, and felt it added to the vibe of the place. I had one small issue while I was there and the manager was quick to make it right. I really appreciated their responsiveness and eagerness to make sure their customers are well taken care of. I will definitely be back thanks to this!

The sandwich was excellent. In fact the sandwich hit the spot. Perfectly. If I was to grade strictly on the sandwich alone this establishment would get a perfect score. Alas that is not the case. Washroom is satisfactory, clean and paper towels were available... good. There was a band that played part of the time... just a bunch of loud noise in my opinion. Even when the band was not playing the ambient noise level was very high. I am dinging this establishment one point due to the noise level. I have a general complaint about the personal appearance of one or more of the guys who work at this establishment. One or more of the men who worked at this establishment wore his shirt untucked. I consider that to be highly unprofessional and inappropriate. I am dinging this establishment one point for allowing guys to wear their shirts untucked as this is something I am OCD about. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school, this establishment would be in there solid with a "C".
