Went to the Beach Plum in Raymond on 4/22/24 and spent $161 to go, wanted to eat in the car with my wife. First off, the staff was way too young to be serving pricey seafood. Example, no clue what fried butterfly shrimp was. It was more important they got the ice-cream orders out, not the pricey seafood. I ordered 2 8oz lobster rolls and what was suppose to be a small pints of clam, shrimp and scallop. The dude ordered me baskets. Had to wait and pay another $11 for the pints, order up to $172. The clams were excellent, the shrimp was mediocre and not butterfly and the scallops were on the not well portioned side but tasty. My big complaint was the lobster rolls. I asked for light mayo and drizzled with drawn butter. Classic New England lobster roll in my opinion. Came out with cold refrigerated lobster, mayo on the bottom of the roll and no drawn drizzled butter and the lobster contained no tail meet. For $76+ for lobster you think tail meat was involved. NOPE! What lobster they gave us was well portioned but we did pay for it. We took it home and made a real lobster roll. To bad, this place has potential but inexperienced staff, just bad making of lobster rolls put this at a very low score. read more

we live nearby and only go if everything else is closed and even then will only order the soup... Sorry to say the flavors are not good. The fried food is overly fried and often cold, and the crabcakes are dry and the flavor of us... How these people stay open is beyond me... I suppose their reputation for lobster roll is what does it as far as out of towners... But honestly even that isn't good...prices are not good either! The Beach Plum is now open year round in Epping, away from the "beach" at Brickyard Square, just off NH 101 Exit 7. The anticipated opening of their third location was posted on their website and on Facebook for December 23, 2015. They were selling their gift cards in a nearby temporary space during the construction. The gift cards are 25 percent off during their sale through the holidays. The Epping Beach Plum officially opened for business at 4pm today. I've been stopping at the original Beach Plum location (seasonal) across from North Hampton beach and the Portsmouth Beach Plum (open year round), for great ice cream, chowder, fried seafood, and good sized lobster rolls. The Beach Plum has also won the Best of NH honors for the best lobster roll. Similar to The Beach Plum in Portsmouth, this location is also open year round with indoor counter service and finished picnic table seating. Like the other locations, the menu offerings here include lobster rolls (reg or footlong), subs, wraps, sandwiches, footlong hot dogs, seafood dinners, salads, chowder, chili, lobster bisque, Coke beverages (self serve fountain), and around 78 flavors of premium ice cream & frozen yogurt. Beer (8 on tap) & wine available too. I stopped in here for dinner takeout today and the place was not mobbed, unlike the packed and gridlocked parking lot outside during the busy holiday shopping season. There were plenty of staff on hand in the kitchen area, mostly younger workers. I usually order a"beach style" Lobster Roll with a bag of Wachusett potato chips and clam chowder. However on this visit, I ordered the Haddock Sandwich ($9.99) with fries and a Small Sundae ($5.99) totaling $17.42 without drinks. The Haddock Sandwich had lightly breaded and deep fried haddock with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce on a soft Kaiser bun. The fries were hot and crispy. The food was a bit greasy, but tasty, which counts in my book. The Sundae was the right size with a scoop of hard coffee Kahlua brownie ice cream (my choice), hot fudge, whipped cream, nuts, and cherry on top. I used my "discounted" Beach Plum gift card to pay for the order, though being very new, their system could not read it. They accepted it and value will be deducted later when things are running. I enjoyed my fried fish sandwich and fries and my hot fudge sundae during "non beach" weather at the new Beach Plum in Epping. read more

Everything was pretty much called the onion rings, the french fries not cooked to order. Really no excuse for that considering we were waiting for the food ordered at the counter. I have eaten at the Portsmouth location several times (last time about a year ago) and was always impressed with the portion size of the lobster roll. But the other day I got the medium one and WHAT A JOKE. The meat was skimpy, and I ate the whole thing in a few unsatisfactory bites ...and was left still feeling hungry. So not worth the almost $30. The place is VERY EXPENSIVE in my opinion and the benches are downright uncomfortable. Aside from that I have never had a bad meal here. The scallops are sweet and cooked just right. The French fries when requested well done are crunchy and perfect. My daughter loves the double hamburger and it is typically not cooked to temp and on the verge of hockey puck status but she is a beef eater and will inhale it before I get a chance to ask if she wants me to have them remake it pinker. They have over 50 flavors to make shakes with. They are expensive as well, cheaper at most ice cream places and a bigger size in my opinion. Even with the price being higher they are very good and a must have. They run deals on a regular basis with their gift cards. If you spend X you get x free. Even if you purchase they for yourself this can help to lower the real cost of your meal since you are getting "free money." They have a very large parking lot and the issue with waiting for a table during peak dining times is a real issue when it is cold and the outside tables are not feasible. read more

Came back home for my annual trip to NH to visit family and friends. Lobstah rolls are a must on my list. My usual place at the coast was closed for the season so went to The Beach Plum. It definitely did not disappoint! My lobster roll was loaded with huge hunks of moist tender lobster meat. It wasn't filled with fluffy lettuce filler or too much mayo like some places. My only suggestion would be a tiny bit more butter on the toasted roll. But I'm not complaining! I had the 8 oz size, loved the size options for the lobster roll. Definitely would make this place my new annual stop. Also loved the onion rings, crispy and not too much batter, just how I like them. My family all loved their orders, the chowder was phenomenal and my daughter's burger was delish. Definitely check this place out! read more

I go to the Beach Plum about once every three visits to New Hampshire. It's conveniently located off of I-101. The clams, fries, and lobsters rolls are reliably yummy. The wait staff is friendly. I haven't tried the ice cream yet--maybe next time! They also have a good selection of beverages. It's a family-friendly restaurant with very high ceilings indoors and picnic tables indoors and out. This is the second time I have been there and both times I ordered whole belly clams and got clam strips with little tiny bellies, both times I paid the price for whole belly clams and they were the tiniest clams I have ever eaten. Paid $60 plus tax for two of the the 6 oz. lobster rolls that only had 4 oz. of meat in it, each. And then pid another 8 for an upgrade to fries , rather than the small bag of chips. I went here last night to get take out of 2 sandwiches, a chicken Greek wrap and a BLT as a wrap. I stood and waited casually watching the kitchen area. The sandwich station was just in front of me on the right. A women was attending the station. I saw her complete an order then change gloves. I was impressed this may be company policy. I then saw her get a wrap and make a BLT. She completed it and moved on to other orders. All was good until I saw her sneeze on the back of her left hand, over the open food containers. She glanced up and saw me looking right at her. She simply went back to work making lobster rolls, etc. REALLY? When I returned home and opened the boxes I was shocked to find that the BLT was literally half its normal size. It was the first time ordering the chicken Greek wrap and it was mostly chicken and dry. I have been here many times and the food was always good. I have been to this Beach Plum numerous times. The quality of food I extremely good (if you like seafood). The have very good lobster rolls, fried clams, fried scallops, and seafood and lobster chowder. My most recent trip to Beach Plum was Sunday May 19th at 6:30 PM. The restaurant was pretty busy, there were a couple empty tables inside, and a few empty tables out on the patio on a nice day. The service was fair, but I believe its a logistics issue. As you walk in the door, it can bottle neck as dinner patrons and ice cream seekers are all mixed in the line. They should have separate lines for dinner seekers and ice cream patrons, especially during peak meal periods. The staff was friendly and nice, but the line bottle necked and flow could have been managed more smartly. Will continue coming to Beach Plum, as it is a very good meal for the price. The also have 2-3 sister Beach Plum Restaurants in Portsmouth and Rye (Takeout). read more

I have always been happy with the food at the Beach Plum (Epping) but not tonight. My mother and I ordered a 2 way combo which was scallops and clam strips which was $29.99. We got 7 small scallops and the clam strips were tough and the fries were not done. Very disappointing and I can say I will not be going back to the Epping location. I also used the remaining of my gift card and the cashier had no idea how to use it and when she got help she said there was no money on the card. I checked the card that morning and I know there was money. She said let me check again and now there was money. Very frustrating! read more

Today was my second visit to the Epping Beach Plum location. My first BP experience was at their Portsmouth NH location several years ago. At the time, I was underwhelmed by the lobster roll at a jaw dropping price. They're still expensive, starting at 6oz of lobster for $17.99 (including bag of plain potato chips; French/sweet potato fries or onion rings are an up charge, fountain drinks extra), going up to a hefty $49.99 for 20oz on a 1 foot roll. Rolls are buttered and grilled. There is no question, the lobster is fresh, and honestly, the 6oz roll is filling for most. So from that perspective, as my friend Jim C says, it's reasonably good value for the money. It's still more than I would usually spend on a lobster roll. I highly recommend the fresh squeezed lemonade. My friend enjoyed her frappé for afters. She did wish there was a little more mayo on her lobster roll, as she found it a tad dry. I believe "moisture" was her descriptor. I don't like a lot of mayo, and didn't find mine lacking in that regard. Just enough to keep the meat together. They have gluten-free options. Just let the staff member taking your order know what you need to substitute. On a previous visit with family, my 15 year old niece gave the 1 foot hot dog a taste test. For a kid who wouldn't eat hot dogs up until last year, she's not what you'd call a connoisseur, never mind a big eater, but she ate almost the whole thing. My brother had a 10oz cheese burger (2-5oz patties) and struggled to finish it. We suggested he leave the bun and just eat the meat, but apparently that's verboten. What do I know? Orders are placed at the main counter. They give you a numbered lobster to display when you sit down and food is brought to your picnic table (inside or outside) when it's ready. Service is very quick. Seems to take us longer to make up our minds (the menu board is massive!) than it does to get fed. The 25% discount for gift cards is still on offer. But you can only use half of it for that day's order. One way to make sure you come back. :) I meant to thank the staff for not pestering us for taking up table space for a couple of hours. They weren't busy, even at lunch time on a Friday afternoon. Or we would have moved on. My friend was having set up issues with her iPhone and iPad. Contrary to popular opinion and Apple PR, they are not idiot proof. Not that my dear friend is an idiot, she's merely a slow learner and it took awhile to resolve the tech muddle she had created. When you want so seafood in the winter we head to the Beach Plum. I had recommended this location to a friend who just came to visit from Vermont and wanted some whole belly clams and he wasn't disappointed. Thus, we thought we'd take a drive over to check it out. It was cold this weekend so what better than a clam chowder. We drove our motorcycles over and got some to go along with some chili. Yum it was good but we had a shocking surprise when we opened our bowls to find corn chowder and NOT clam chowder. It was good...full of corn and potatoes and had good flavor but wow we just had our hearts set on clam. Ok, so now we need to go back to give it another try. We usually go to the shack in the summer and the Portsmouth location so it was good to see where this one is. Close to the shops, Market Basket, its fairly easy to find. My husband said clam strips were not good. 11.99 and I asked for mac and cheese, said would come with crust without lobster, charged 9.99 and i got a bowl of soupy mac and cheese that was terrible. Had dinner here on Mother's day with my two children. The place was packed, but we still were able to find seating after we ordered our food. Wait time was average. We also placed an order to go, with our original order and asked the kitchen to drop the food once we got ours. Went to the Beach Plum in Portsmouth after spending a day at Water Country. Leaving this 1 star review because the counter service was awful. Rude young adults who couldn't answer simple questions about the gluten free roll which is offered with the lobster roll. It's a bulky roll. I said no thanks, please just put on lettuce leaf. Requested potato chips. She tried to tell me they weren't gluten free. They are, as stated on the package. I ended up with a paper container of lobster meat. Very unappealing visually, served by a grouchy female server with a poor attitude "here you go". I left to eat in a nicer atmosphere. Never had such poorly trained servers at the Rye location. Don't recommend stopping here, even if it was convenient. Ruined my day. Please don't advertise having a GF menu if you don't bother to train your staff. read more

The first curb pickup I gave all info over the phone and still the store person wanted me to sign the slip as he stands 2 feet from my face and hands me a slip and a pen ....arrggghhhhh Ok, we tried again today and SPECIFIED on phone no contact just pick up food and go, no signing slip needed !!!
