Always a great time at this diner. Staff very friendly & attentive. This time we came for breakfast. I had the breakfast sliders with home fries. 2 sliders come with the order and it consists of waffles, sausage, cheese. It was super flavorful and big. Halfway through the first one and I was already stuffed. A friend had a BEC & a vanilla milkshake. Whatever you do, you need to try their shakes ... they are GREAT. COVID UPDATE: the outdoor tables are spaced out, they do give you paper menus if you ask but they have the QR code for the menu on sheets hanging from the inside the tent. Beacon diner is one of those diners that you can set your watch to. You know you are going to get good food and big portions. The omelettes are made fresh and fluffy. We went out on the limb and got the mac and cheese balls too. Weird combo with an omellette but they were good. I see them as perfect for a hangover. Loaded with mac and cheese and served with a cheese sauce. The portions are huge and you won't leave hungry. What more could you want?! Friendly people too. Great place. read more

I used to come here when it was called the point diner... like fifty years ago. Recently we noticed the change of ownership and the total renovation, and we decided to give it a try. Well, it was a good surprise to finally find a nice place with outdoor seating and great food. Not to forget the great hospitality from Mike , the owner and Anthony, the server. I had the chicken jambalaya, and my wife ordered the fajitas. Honestly folks... we loved every bite. The jambalaya was spicy and a bit tangy. My wife loved her fajitas and attacked my jambalaya. BTW, that was Thursday. Here we are here again on Sunday, this time for breakfast... stay tuned. I'll update you later. Ok... I ordered a breakfast that had toast, poached eggs, avocado and Hollandaise sauce. It was delicious and tasty. My wife ordered the body builder omelette, which had Turkey... she wasn't happy with the Turkey. It was a little dry. Overall it was a good experience. Ps. Mismanagement has cause me to never order again. I was a loyal customer for over three years until this incident caused me to never order again. Ordered deliver with my wife. One order was missing an egg, the other order was missing an entire side (soup on a $20 order of Mac n cheese). These things happen, so we call and explain that we are missing an egg and a side. The employee offers to send us the side and asks if we want a new egg platter. We decline, and just note the missing egg. The employee insists on sending us a new egg platter since he is already dispatching the delivery person on the missing soup. We accept. A few minutes later, the manager calls demanding that we send the original 2 eggs back with the delivery person, implying that we are trying to scam a $7 egg platter (on a $55 order no less). So you forget to send half of an entree (the soup) and your concern is whether or not you are getting scammed over an egg??? Avoid this place like the plague; your money is better spent at Gotham or any of the 10s of other diners in the area. read more

This is about principles how they can charge $0.50 for a bun when I ordered a sandwich. A sandwich is supposed to come with bread. These places are the ones that are fashionable. They will screw the customers in every way. What a pity there is no more honesty any more. I will never go back to this place. Went for breakfast this morning with a friend. I ordered the Maryland Benny which is served with crab cakes. The poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce and home fries were tasty. The Beacon, as it's known now, has gone through a number of owner/managers, but the newest iteration has potential! Considering good diners, and IMO consistently good breakfast spots, are hard to come by in this area The Beacon serves up a good cup of coffee, great egg platter specials and an array of omelettes, bennies, and pancake/waffle selections. My bacon has always arrived crispy and my eggs exactly as ordered to my preference. They are also great with substitutions and have a variety of sides and add-ons to complement every dish on the menu. The service has also been top notch at every visit, while the atmosphere a little loud depending on the time and day you go (weekends being more packed with people), is typical of the diner experiences of my youth, when NJ had a plethora of great diners in every town. I recommend the "breakfast all the way" as a good sampler to start your breakfast journey here, you won't be disappointed! read more

This has always been a good local diner but since the new owners updated and renovated, it's even better. Breakfast is my most frequent diner meal and you will not be disappointed with the choices but my niece and I had a surprisingly good dinner here recently. We ordered the 2 of the dinner specials- a homemade chicken pot pie and beef goulash and we cleaned our plates. Service was good and we look forward to returning soon for another dinner. read more

I walked in and the receptionist was on the phone, didn't acknowledge the new customer presence and I stood there for about 5 minutes until one of the servers escorted me. 50 years ago I listened to game 7 of the World Series at the Point Diner in Fairview NJ. The Point Diner is now the Beacon Diner. Finally had a chance to try this place and glad we did. I had the Penne Pomodoro with shrimp and my wife had the vegetarian pasta with shrimp. We both started with the Matzo Ball soup which was excellent. Both our dishes were huge. Let's start with my family and I wanted to try a new place. We should have went elsewhere. Bill for 5 was $134. For a DINER. I ordered the French onion soup, it was really good. That was it, the end of anything good. My burger was ok, the fries had gravy which was not mentioned on the menu anywhere. I stopped once I seen that. My husband ordered a clam chowder soup that was red and had vegetables on it. He asked the waitress why it red. She said that's how they make their clam chowder. He also ordered a green apple martini that was almost blue. His eggplant parmigiana was made with dollar tree linguine. My daughter's Nutella pancakes were mediocre. My son ate his chicken fingers and left all the fries. Unsure why. The waitress rolled her eyes at one point. Never asked if we wanted refills on our sodas. NEVER order the Bourbon Burger. I received a dry burger with cheese and bacon. No bourbon sauce. It also came with a side of brown gravy ( which I thought was just an error). I told the waiter that he forgot the bourbon sauce and he pointed to the gravy. I explained that I tasted it and i explained to him that what he gave me was brown gravy. He took it back and about 5 minutes later came back with the same brown gravy although now it was warm. I tasted it and almost lost it! Apparently the cook added bourbon to the brown gravy and warmed it up! If he did not know what bourbon sauce was he should have just admitted it. I ended up asking the waiter for barbecue sauce since I figured I was just wasting my time. What a shame. I don't know if I would order anything other than breakfast or a plain burger. The diner was fully renovated last year and it's a family run business. Consistently great traditional diner food. We order here on average three times a week and pick up the food ourselves. Great daily specials and good prices too. The quality of the food is very high and well presented. Now that we are vaccinated we just started dining inside again. The food at Beacon Diner is truly amazing I am the type of person who is very picky with their food but they had so many options to choose from. I chose the waffles with Nutella and strawberries on top and my friend had some pasta. The waffles were really good just a bit dry for my liking and my friend said that she loved her pasta and would be getting it again when we come back here. One thing I disliked though was my strawberries they didn't really taste that fresh to me and one of my strawberries look too ripped but overall I would give my food a 8 out of 10 and my friend said she would give her food a 10 out of 10. Besides the food the customer service is great I walked in and got seated within five minutes. The waitress was very nice and respectful towards us ad=nd was really quick with everything he was doing. After getting seated, the waitress came to us right away, brought us water, and then asked us what we would like to order. After ordering our food he brought it to us within 10 minutes which is amazing to me but overall my whole experience at this diner I would give it a 10/10 and would definitely recommend it to other people. read more

The best way to describe our takeout order is average. We ordered the tuna triple decker (pictured here) and the Buffalo chicken wrap. They weren't bad, but weren't great compared to the same order elsewhere. While they were very generous with the tuna, it lacked much flavor. Also, I would've preferred they cut the hard boiled egg in the sandwich into smaller pieces rather than keeping it in larger chunks. That way, you get egg with every bite.
