Hands down the best BBQ I've had in this state, the service was incredible and our server Meya was on top of everything and did amazing

We were craving BBQ and we got AMAZING BBQ!!! We went in during lunchtime on a Sunday. It was pretty quiet at first, then after a while more groups of people started to come in. My cousin and I split a Baby Back Ribs Plate w/ a side of Mac & Cheese and BBQ Baked Beans. Bonus star to their generosity of adding an extra rib instead of the 3 the plate comes with so that my cousin and I can each get 2 ribs each. Thank you! The other person in our group ordered a *LUNCH SPECIAL* Brisket Sandwich that comes with Fries and added a side of Mac & Cheese. If you like sweet drinks, I highly recommend the Sweet Tea. Heads up that they don't mess around! It truly tastes very sweet and what I remember drinking when I was down south in Tennessee. I'm from Texas (so I know good BBQ) and my wife is from Georgia. When we heard there was a Southern BBQ place on this island while we were visiting we had to check it out. Food: Very good food. I ordered the brisket plate with creamed corn (brisket 9/10. Good flavor, good ring on it and flavorful + it wiggles which a good brisket slice should. Corn was pretty sweet but good). My only issue as a Southern spot it please include a slice of bread (white or texas toast + pickles with the meat plates.) the bbq is a homemade bbq sauce thats sooo darn good! Id buy a bottle or two! My wife ordered a brisket sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The brisket sandwhich was of course good with a buttery bun. The coleslaw (was lacking good flavor; not a fan personally). The fries were frozen fries and descent. We also had hush puppies; pretty good. Service: AMAZING service from Mia. Such a sweetheart and gem. She helped us make good picks from the menu. Ambiance: a very large building! When we went it was empty and during early day. Very clean, clean bathrooms and music playing. The look/feel gives more "country" vs southern. I was expecting to hear southern soul vibes on the music, and photos or items throughout that gave "southern bbq vibes". A dope touch would be dope photos of black or southern cowboys, and etc. lots of opportunity for a real down south vibe to be created. Overall- very pleased. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of potato casserole and hush puppies, brisket quesadilla, mac n cheese and beans. We also ordered the peach cobbler and didn't find out until after picking it up that it was sold out but was still charged for it. I also requested utensils and there weren't any included in either bag. The food was good, the pulled pork had good flavor especially with the pickles and onions and bbq sauce. What more can I say about this gem on Whidbey Island. I made my new tradition annual 3 hour jaunt for the best southern food in all of WA. I went back twice during this trip. Our server was great. The ambiance was great and I got to watch my favorite team on TV. They have a bar area that is separate but conjoined with the dining area. You can choose which area you want to sit in. All of Ms. Jackie's cooking is homemade and is just downright phenomenal. It reminds me of the meals my momma and grand-momma made when I was a kid. Among the worst BBQ I've ever had anywhere with even worse service. I came in for dinner based on several referrals and complete disappointment. The brisket was very greasy and flavorless sides were mediocre and it took 45 minutes for my food to served. My only mistake was to eat it. Then I spoke with the owner /manager and she comes out yelling at me so this turns into a yelling match and she tells me how it's my fault and sorry if I wasn't happy. She did nothing but make excuses and tell me it's my fault. She did nothing to resolve anything and just a terrible experience. There's nothing worse than being yelled at and taken for granted as a customer. Buyer beware. read more

I had done a search for burgers and Orlando's came up, though there were no burgers on the menu. My friend and I both had the brisket and the baby back ribs, him with beans and me with cornbread. We each enjoyed our meals. The ribs were very tender and the brisket hit just right. This is a restaurant where you order at the front desk when you come in; they give you a number to put on your table and then your food is delivered. I have been raving about this place to everyone I know. The food was mouth watering, delicious, fresh, and hands down the best BBQ I've ever had in Washington. The ambiance, environment, and people were absolutely incredible and the place was huge! The bar itself was enormous and I had an amazing lemon drop that tasted like fresh squeezed lemonade. Now, let's talk meats. My man and I got the same plate and had absolutely zero complaints. (Actually we were sad we didn't order more but that's on us!) The ribs just fell off the bone and were so incredibly tender. The pulled pork was delicious and that bbq sauce was the perfect touch to add on top. Oh my goodness that brisket was delectable! No one at reception and a sign saying 'wait to be seated'. We waited close to 4 minutes before peeking into the dining area to look for ANYONE who worked there. Smoked brisket should have a tell-tale pink smoke ring. This was greasy, tasteless because it had not properly smoked. The pulled pork was served as two piles. Unless you order corn bread as an individual item, you get nothing but the meat and a half-filled deli takeout cup of sauce. I ordered pulled pork and coleslaw and my companion ordered hot links, brisket, potato salad & peach cobbler; we both only had water to drink and our bill was $58.00. Another patron was also frustrated by the very slow service and the tasteless brisket. He expressed his disappointment to the waitress and also asked to speak to someone in charge. The owner came out and instead of listening calmly to the patron, immediately started LOUDLY arguing with them. We left feeling very dissatisfied with the service and the food, but witnessing the owner display such aggressive behavior in the face of fair criticism by a customer was the final straw. I stopped in at Orlando's Southern Barbecue for a bite to eat today. I was out "getting my steps in" when I realized I was hungry (but that's really an always kind of thing) so I decided that Orlando's was a good place to eat. I stopped at the ordering counter that is just inside the front door, and placed my order for a pulled pork sandwich with an order of coleslaw and a peach cobbler dessert. Truth be known, I tried to order Fried Okra with my sandwich, but I was informed that I had to choose from the list of sides. Unfortunately the fried okra was not on that list When I placed my order I was told that all their meats have sauce that is placed in a 3 ounce cup so I could use as much or little sauce as I wanted. My order was brought to my table very quick and I ate it down even faster! My sandwich included pickles and onions on the side and I heaped them on top of the pork and then covered everything with the sauce! After wolfing down the sandwich and devouring the coleslaw I inhaled the peach cobbler. Mmm... so tasty! I got to Orlando's around 3 pm and I was almost the only customer. I was one of 7 customers and was able to pick the table of my choice. There are several seating areas that I saw. If you're over 21 you can choose to sit in the bar area. Otherwise you have to choose the general seating area. The other seating area looks to be a more formal dining area with larger tables. The staff is very friendly and helpful making my dining experience the best I had in a while. read more

My husband and my first time there. Plenty of parking, large bar, we sat in restaurant area. Tables and chairs only. Wait staff very pleasant. We tried the catfish, ribs and brisket all excellent. Sides we tried were BBQ beans, Mac and cheese, onion rings and corn bread. The only one we both liked were the beans. With the catfish you also get hush puppies (very important). As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a perfect playlist, I wondered how they stole it off of my Apple Music. Very much a family run restaurant. Service was a little chaotic; a large group of teens were ahead of us. But the food came out quickly and servers were very personable. As luck would have it, the owner herself waited on us; she was so friendly and seemed to really enjoy meeting all the diners. My brisket sandwich was amazing and so much meat I couldn't finish it. Really great brisket; my husband had the barbecue pork sandwich which he enjoyed, but he wished he had ordered the brisket!! Not a ton of ambience, sorta think maybe they're still working on it. Your food is fantastic as well as your staff. I recognize the difficulties in providing quality food at reasonable prices these days. However, I wanted to say your prices have gone too far. It was $12 for 1/3lbs brisket. Then $16 for 1/3lbs brisket. Today I went in and the price was $16 for 1/4lbs of brisket. Other prices have gone up but as a brisket fan it is easy for me to track and show this as an example. Considering the average portion for BBQ is 1/2lbs per person this seems unsustainable price wise. I wish y'all the very best and highly recommend your place as all of your food is delicious. Unfortunately for me as a long time customer that would routinely spend $100 at your place I can no longer justify these prices. This was one of those "all over the place" kind of experiences. My friend and I showed up on a Sunday afternoon around 1:00pm thinking the place would be crowded, but it was pretty much a ghost town. Despite the lack of patrons, service was painfully slow, albeit friendly. It didn't help that there was one server who was also running the front of the house. Part of me wondered if she was also doing the cooking. The food was a real rollercoaster ride. The brisket and coleslaw were very good. The pulled pork and cornbread were mediocre. The green beans with potatoes and the peach cobbler were disappointing. They were out of iced tea--huh? You're not busy, how about making more? As far as ambiance was concerned, the place is sprawling--far too big considering the lack of traffic. The good news is that it was clean. We asked for some sauce and the response was kinda interesting but they did bring a couple of sauces. I discovered this restaurant through yelp. I have been back three times in two weeks even though i live a Ferry ride away. The food is very good, they have plenty of room, and service is pretty good. BOY OH BOY DOES MS. JACKIE AND HER KITCHEN KNOW HOW TO COOK!!! You will NOT be disappointed if you decide to come to Orlando's! Everything on their menu is world-class and a fan favorite of mine: their French fries! I don't know if they bless their potatoes beforehand or what but they are ALWAYS absolutely delicious. The wait time is reasonable for how delicious their food is. Their staff is always so nice and accommodating. Very cute & well decorated establishment.
