Thank you Serge for the incredible service and great laughs during our dinner! The bread basket and butter was super dangerous. I loved the cheese thin crackers and warm pretzel bread. Of course I couldn't resist the butter. I ordered the onion soup and that was so filling and delicious. I love onion soup and the flavor was so good!! It can do with a bit more cheese but the broth and amount was perfect. My friend ordered the salmon and mashed potatoes which she loved. Looked like steamed spinach was under the salmon. I had a cucumber martini which was delicious and refreshing. My friend had glasses of champagne it was a celebration last night indeed. We walked over so didn't have to worry about valet but I believe they validate.

The first time I went was for the Mother's day brunch but I went back to see if it's as nice as it was then!! And it was! The food is so amazing, the lychee rose tart is like nothing i've had before. The service is very quick too, they're also very friendly. Such a cute area for the tea, mother's day or not. Definitely a higher end place but extremely worth the money and it's nice to have a fancy outing every once in a while that's worth the price!!

My favorite place for high tea and fancy free living! Best service, harp music, food, tea selection, seating in cozy couch corner, beautiful China, and shopping plus spa to get haircut! Celebrating bdays!

A friend and I had a fantastic breakfast at The Belvedere European Brasserie inside The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. The dining room is spacious, elegant, and filled with beautiful artwork and gorgeous flower arrangements, creating a refined yet welcoming atmosphere. There's also a lovely option to dine al fresco. The menu was fabulous! We shared the Egg White Frittata with roasted vegetables, arugula, and chicken sausage--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also enjoyed a generous stack of lemon-zest pancakes that were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. A cheesy cracker served with the meal was an unexpected treat--crispy, savory, and bursting with flavor. The coffee was fresh and satisfying. Our servers, Monika and Narcisco, were warm, professional, and attentive, which made our experience even more enjoyable. The Belvedere is a wonderful spot for a relaxing, upscale breakfast in a gorgeous setting and they have a great menu for their lunch and dinner, as well. We will be back. Highly recommended!

Service is always excellent, food is good. Truly a fine dining experience, the noise level here is very quiet.

This beautiful restaurant is fastly becoming one of my favorites! From the absolutely fabulous food, one of my favorite ambience inside and out, and the service that took it right over the top! Our server Narciso was more than accommodating, making all kinds of great recommendations and allowing for special alterations, and the kindness to my service dog just took us all right over the edge. We will definitely go out of our way to come back to this lovely establishment! Head to toe, top notch!

I've been dining here for over 24 years on special occasions. The place was empty on arrival and crowded as could be by 2pm but still quiet. Our waiter was Lyle and he was so nice. He's a Virgo, was highly knowledgeable and engaging. Hope he's my waiter next time. My meal was PERFECT. The branzino was perfectly butterflied and tasty. The lemon risotto was fantastic. The broccoli was nicely seasoned and tender. I'm not usually a fan of risotto or broccoli so I'm glad I didn't ask for substitutions. The champagne had everybody tipsy in no time. I honestly wouldn't have known it was a fancy bottle by just its taste though. I had the pistachio crème brûlée and it wasn't overpowered by pistachio as I figured it might be as it was all pistachio and a bit of strawberries. All in all it was a great meal and I'd order it all again anytime.

Afternoon tea on the terrace at The Belvedere was an incredible experience. We've been to The Living Room at The Peninsula multiple times in the past and loved it, but with COVID numbers rising exponentially we're not planning to return to indoor dining anytime soon. Fortunately, The Belvedere has an outdoor dining option and it is a lovely setting with overhead canopies for shade and a DJ. We came for the special collaboration with Ginza Nishikawa, and it was delightful. The ice cubes with flowers made it even more fun to drink. Some of my favorites from the tea experience were the yuzu ginger lemonade (I had the mocktail version), the cucumber mint and smoked salmon sandwiches (though honestly, all of the sandwiches were delicious), the scones that were baked to perfection accompanied by clotted cream, lemon curd, and raspberry jam, and the ube calamansi macaron, which was bursting with flavor. We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and the lucky man got a complimentary tiramisu, which was also delicious. Service was very attentive in the beginning, though it was harder to get anyone's attention after we were done. We ended up having to ask the hostess for our check after a couple bathroom visits and after waiting for what felt like an eternity just paid the bill on the way out. Pro tip: if you don't want to pay for valet, arrive a little early - there's plenty of metered street parking around the block, and on Sundays you don't have to pay :)

The Belvedere is the restaurant inside the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. The hotel is located on Santa Monica and Rodeo Drive. Discounted valet parking with validation. Dress code is "smart casual" which means somewhere between business casual and dressy casual but leaning more towards business casual attire than dressy. A buttoned up shirt and slacks for men/women and a nice dress for women would be appropriate. It's on the pricey side, especially the holiday menu, but it was so worth it. Not to mention that the last time I dined out for the holidays was New Years Eve 2020! I celebrated Christmas at the Belvedere. What I loved about the Christmas menu is that it had vegan options. I also noted that they have a plant-based 5 course pre-fixe menu for regular days which has the rutabaga entree I had for Christmas on it. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very beautiful and charming. It has a blue and white motif and an upscale European feel. There is an outside dining area as well as an inside. It's an elegant dining room. There is a velvet long booth with tables in the middle and a regular booth for larger parties on the exterior and also tables that stand alone. I got a wonderful stand alone table in the corner with a perfect view of the piano. I was so happy with where they sat me. They had a pianist playing all the Christmas music. It was absolutely lovely having live music. It really added to the experience. It was the perfect volume too which was just loud enough for holiday background music. A guest stopped by and sang Jingle Bells which was also cool. I heard him say he was "on tour" so I guess he was a professional singer who was walking by. It wasn't planned by the restaurant but it added to the holiday experience and good feelings of community. For the food, I started with an endive salad with smoked trout, citrus emulsion, burnt mandarin, breakfast radish, and pomegranate. They had a vegan option of truffle noodles as well but I was in the mood for some fish as I'm pescatarian. The salad was beautiful to look at. The trout was placed in the middle in the shape of a rose. It had a light dressing. The smoked fish was the star of the dish. It was both light and filling at the same time. My main entree was the plant based option of salt-dough baked rutabaga. It had plant based curd, broken cassis (black current liquor) lovage (a celery like herb) emulsion sauce (Christmas colors of green and red), juniper berry (I think this also part of the sauce), and a coral cracker on top. This dish was also a work of art. I loved the Christmas colors of the sauce. I did have to look up the definition of the food listed on the menu here which means this is a pretty fancy schmancy dish as I consider myself pretty food cultured. I did not get a good picture of this dish so I will describe it here. It looked like it was one rutabaga cut in half. The rutabaga was covered in curd and a crunchy celery like vegetable. It was surrounded by a red and green sauce. Covering the rutabaga was a think cracker like bread. It did look small at first and I was worried it wouldn't be enough but I was satisfied at the end. Dessert was my favorite part of the meal. Send my regards to the pastry chef. I got the spiced bouche noel which was a small Christmas log. It has spiced spongecake, chocolate orange cream, and salted pecan ice cream. It was like a chocolate mousse which I love and on the bottom it had a crunchy crust. It was so beautifully decorated. It brought me so much joy. I also got to try the pear tart ordered by my dining companion. It was also quite stunning and delicious. It had caramelized pears, toasted almond frangipane and Tahitian vanilla ice cream. It was also decorated super cute for Christmas. What a refreshing dessert. The meal came with "Christmas bread" and I had no idea what that meant. It was two muffins: one gingerbread and one cornbread, along with a star and a heart chocolate covered bread. It came at the beginning of the meal but it was more like dessert so we saved it for the end. Overall, I was quite happy with my experience here. It's a nice special occasion restaurant for sure. The crowd was mostly adults but there were some well-behaved children as well. I also love that they cater to plant-based folks. *FINE DINING *SPECIAL OCCASION *SPLURGE *PLANT BASED OPTIONS

Unfortunately a massive disappointment and never a return visit. Wifey and I booked their Thanksgiving dinner 2024. This is not our first go-around with the Peninsula - we've stayed at their sister hotels in New York, Paris and Hong Kong - the latest meal we had was at L'Oiseau Blanc October 2023. We've also spent time at the Bar (see other review) in BH and had delightful meals and drinks. Well nothing could haven been further from Peninsula quality at this Thanksgiving event. While appetizers and bread were top quality, the meal went straight down into the basement from there. I ordered filet mignon, after seeing the literal heap of indistinguishable food, turkey on top, burying green beans and a stuffing that looked like cut up toast, masquerading as "home made." Wifey was brave and went for the turkey, only to blanch and spit out a rock hard bread crust in the pretend stuffing. Nothing was plated - instead everything was mashed together on regular stoneware - not even Peninsula china. Wifey sent the abominable meal back and asked for a replacement. They brought her an appetizer of agnolotti with desiccated white truffle. Truffles are to be kept moist - these slivers had been on the plate for hours. Everything was tasteless, completely without flavor on her plate. My filet was fine, but nothing spectacular by any means. Desserts were fine but again, nothing to write home about. They also left the table dirty and didn't use a crumber, just put the dessert right on the dirty cloth. Not appealing. We had two glasses of Nebbiolo, and I had a vodka martini to start. Total was $520, tip included. Never again. We should have stuck with Citrine or Spago - which we will do next time around.

This restaurant is located in the Peninsula hotel so obviously you walk into this hotel seeing the upscale elegance of the decor. After you make a left down the corridor, you make a right to find the Belvedere restaurant nestled in the back. The restaurant is also nicely set up with outdoor seating as well. I ordered the smoked salmon flatbread and my husband ordered the veal schnitzel holstein which were both surprisingly good. The salmon was from the Faroe Islands so it was different than your typical salmon. Very delicious and high quality. The veal schnitzel was also tasty and reminiscent of the schnitzel we had in Austria. It was lightly breaded and crispy which is not how we've seen it here in the US. The service was so-so. It was more like elevated an busboy who took our order so it wasn't likened to what we typically see in 5 star hotel restaurants and we had to request bread service. The food was a bit overpriced, but in line with what is typically charged at these hotel restaurants. For dessert, we got the soufflé and it was pretty tasty. Soufflé is a hard dessert to come by so it was great to be able to find a restaurant that offers it. Overall, the dining experience was enjoyable.

We came with a group of eight people around 4 PM, knowing the café closed at 5. We asked in advance if it would be okay for us to stay a little longer, and we were told that was completely fine since they have an outdoor patio and guests could stay as long as they were comfortable. The biggest issue was the service. Since the kitchen was about to close, they brought out everything at once appetizers, main dishes, and coffee. Our table wasn't big enough for all the food and drinks, so part of the order ended up on a nearby table. As a result, coffee was getting cold and hot dishes were cooling down while we were still eating appetizers. What made it even more awkward was that the staff kept asking us to move food from the neighboring table to ours, even though there was physically no room for it. We stayed for almost two hours, and no one ever needed that table. It would have made much more sense to bring the food out gradually instead of delivering everything at once. Another thing that stood out was that throughout the entire evening the servers seemed confused about who had ordered what. For a party of eight, I would expect a restaurant to keep track of which guest ordered each dish. Almost every time food arrived, there were questions about who it belonged to, and at one point they even brought a dish that belonged to a completely different table. Toward the end of the evening, we also felt a little rushed to leave, which was surprising since we had specifically asked beforehand if staying later would be okay and were told it wouldn't be a problem. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was nice, and we enjoyed spending time there. However, our bill was over $700, and for that kind of money I would expect a much smoother and more organized dining experience. I think they simply need to improve the organization and training of their service staff, because that's where most of the issues came from.

There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. We ordered the shrimp pasta, blue smoothie bowl, and tuna tostadas and for drinks we ordered a green juice and an iced macchiato. To start off, the shrimp pasta was flavored perfectly! It is a little heavy for lunch but probably perfect for dinner. The blue smoothie bowl I also recommend! I don't like bowls that are too sweet and this bowl had the perfect amount of sweetness. The fruits were really sweet and it balanced out with the smoothie and nuts that were in there. My absolute favorite were the tuna tostadas! I was surprised that they would be my favorite dish as we only ordered it as an extra shareable plate! The tuna tasted fresh and it was perfectly seasoned! It went really well with the avocado and the chip that was underneath the tuna. I would definitely go back for just the tuna tostadas! For the drinks I ordered a green juice, I really enjoyed it but my friend didn't like it as much because she doesn't like the ginger flavor. I personally like ginger so I thought it went great in the juice! She also really likes the iced macchiato she ordered and recommends it as well. Will definitely be returning!

I enjoyed one more happy hour and one more early dinner before they closed for good…read more During the HH, I had the truffle french fries and the pepperoni pizza. Fries were good this time, but I would go without the pizza in the future. On their final opening night I arrived too early; forgetting that dinner didn't start for an hour so I had the fries (again) while waiting for dinner. Thankfully, the order was put in a little earlier and I was able to enjoy the Penne alla Vodka. I was on the fence about the 20-Layer Cake but I ended up caving in, getting it to go for later. Unlike the first time I got this, they now had a perfect, custom box for the slice to fit whereas before they had to cut the cake in half to fit it into the box they had at the time. I know the New York location has delivery/to-go only, but there is still the Las Vegas one. Sad to see this place close down, as the location seems to be a curse for so many places (Hamburger Hamlet, Rivabella, Roku, now Lavo...).

During my foodie relatives' Thanksgiving week visit to Honolulu, we were discussing making…read morerestaurant reservations for our upcoming Christmas/New Year visit to Los Angeles. However, after we raved about our multiple dining experiences at LAVO Las Vegas, we were surprised to learn that none of our relatives had ever dined at the restaurant's Los Angeles location. So, when the opportunity arose, I made an after-Christmas dinner reservation through OpenTable and excitedly waited. We knew exactly where LAVO Los Angeles was located, as we had frequently driven past the Sunset Medical Tower on Sunset Boulevard and had eaten at the same restaurant space before it changed hands several times over the past decade or so. They offer valet service, which only accepts credit card payments, and because of the restaurant's location, you might as well use the service, because you'd be hard-pressed to find street parking. Our group of six arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes before our reservation and were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked whether we were ready to be seated or preferred to wait in the bar. We chose to be seated, and she escorted us into the quiet, warm, yet festively decorated dining room. The busser approached us, took our water service request, and informed us about who our server would be. Our server, Addison, came to our table while the busser refilled our water glasses and offered assorted citrus slices to flavor them. After my brother-in-law showed Addison the magnum of wine he brought and asked if the sommelier could uncork the bottle, since it was not only a 2006 vintage but also had a long, possibly fragile cork, even though they kept the bottle in their personal wine storage. Unfortunately, they didn't have a sommelier on duty, and Addison informed us of the restaurant's impending end-of-year closure and confidently said she could uncork it with her trusty corkscrew. However, my brother-in-law decided to give it the "ol' college try" and successfully uncorked the bottle. FOOD: -Fritto Misto: a platter of lightly battered and fried zucchini, shrimp, calamari, and vinegary peppers with marinara was delivered to our table and was quickly shared and devoured. Everyone felt the fritto misto was light, delicious, and perfectly cooked. $28 -The Meatball: We've often seen this appetizer ordered at the Las Vegas site, but we never ordered it because we felt it was too much food to share between us. However, now that we had our family surrounding us, we ordered it. The 16-oz meatball is made with fresh-ground imperial Wagyu, Italian sausage, and veal. It is served with whipped ricotta and marinara. We shared the tender, toothsome meatball among us and sopped up the sauce with garlic bread. $34 -Semolina Sesame Garlic Bread: Addison highly recommended this garlic bread to pair with The Meatball and sipping on our Cabernet blend wine. The lightly grilled-toasted loaf was served with three dipping sauces (marinara, basil pesto, & Gorgonzola dolce). $18 -Zitoni Genovese: braised short rib, sweet onions, pecorino Romano. I received a generous portion of Neapolitan or Sicilian zitoni pasta (larger ziti tubes) and an intensely flavorful, tomato-wine-based, fall-apart tender, slow-braised short ribs ragù. This comfort-food pasta dish was so rich and filling that I could barely eat half the portion and ended up bringing home leftovers. $33 -Faroe Island Salmon Oreganato: My husband cut into the salmon filet, which had a light crisp coating of breadcrumbs and revealed the fillet's tender medium-rare doneness. The rich, buttery-tasting salmon filet sat atop a melange of sautéed vegetables and was dressed with a lemon, white wine, and garlic butter sauce. My husband jokingly said he could feel his heart health improving with each bite. $39 The rest of my family ordered their own entrees, and when we were nearly finished with our meals, we decided to share a dessert. We ordered the luscious 20 Layer Chocolate Cake ($29), and each of us commented on the "decadence" of chocolate, peanut butter, and mascarpone. During our dining experience, Addison informed us that LAVO Los Angeles would sadly be closing at the end of the year. We were happy to have supported this restaurant, and it was great to see so many others show their support during the Holidays.

I got the skirt steak cooked medium rare -- flavor was good, but it was a little tough to cut. I think it would've paired even better with some garlic butter or chimichurri on the side. The mac and cheese was SO good and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Creamy, flavorful, and definitely something I'd order again. The pork chops were delicious and packed with flavor, but the spinach underneath was a bit too bitter for my taste. The mashed potatoes were creamy, soft, and comforting. We also loved the Brussels sprouts and Caesar salad -- both were super solid sides. Drinks were perfect and balanced out the dishes really well. Service and atmosphere were great too. Would definitely come back to try more items on the menu next time we are in the area.

We ordered the Wagyu burger, egg white turkey omelette with potatoes, & a side of bagels. The food was decent but very bland--nothing stood out, & we had to add salt for flavor to everything. Portions were small, with barely any avocado or pico, and not very filling. The bagels were good, but they gave very little cream cheese and even charged extra for more, which bad barely enough for one side of a beagle. Service was a bit disappointing. Our server was nice but It wasn't busy, yet our server rarely checked on us--we had to refill our own water & go get the pitcher. They also don't clearly mention when choosing sides it cost extra, which can add up quickly but a heads up would have been appreciated. Overall, we paid about $65 for two & left underwhelmed. It's fine for a casual hangout, but not somewhere I'd go to be impressed. I will say on a positive note, the baked goods, specifically the soft chocolate chip cookies, tasted very fresh! Other than that though we were quite a bit disappointed.
