I ordered the pear salad and it was absolutely amazing: fresh and flavorful! I'm currently dieting and keeping things light, otherwise I would have definitely tried their pasta and pastries - they looked incredible. What truly stood out to me was the attentive service and genuine, old-fashioned hospitality. We ate here on Saturday, May 16 with my family, four of us. The Manager, Calo is super nice and very professional. He recommended the calamary and so we had that for appetizer, we had the Calamari Fritti, Prosciutto San Daniele E Burrata and of course their bread with butter on the side. We also had the red wine, I forgot what kind but I liked it because it's not dry. Then for our main dish, we had the lobster with pasta, Cioppino, Spinach Ravioli with pumpkin and the gnochhi with truffle, so good it melts in your mouth. Then for dessert, we had the affogato, panna cotta and lemon meringue. Overall, more than satisfied. Although we were full. we didn't feel overwhelmed. Just enough to satisfy our pallets and stomach. It was definitely worth the drive. I will post our pictures after I download them on my email. We came early like 5:32pm and by 7:00pm or so the line was already building up outside. We got street parking metered but there is also the option for Valet parking. The inside decorations is also nice and the restrooms are clean. Whenever I go to a restaurant especially for the first time, I always check the restroom first. I was told if the restrooms are clean and well kept it means so is the kitchen as a rule of thumb. This is always my first rule. It has always worked out for me. My husband said it's the best cioppino he has ever had and affogato. I am no fan of gnocchi but this is so good since it melts in your mouth not chewy or heavy. Contrary to other reviews, I think the serving size is just right. If it was any bigger then it would be too much. The price is about the same as other Italian restaurants that are not even good. The one we have in Eastlake is not even close in taste and is even more expensive. If you want to eat in a nice restaurant you have to be prepared to pay the price. The cost is definitely worth the drive from San Diego. Next time we visit, I think I will order some of the ones I liked the most and new entrees to try. We are always looking for new restaurants to try and thought we'd give it a try. My stunning date started with the paradiso salad and thought it was very good and a very large portion. I had my usual Caesar and the anchovy taste overpowered the dressing a bit but it was still very good. She had the linguine and seafood pasta which had crab and lobster and actually said it was probably the most amount of seafood she had ever seen like that. I tried it and it was excellent. Huge pieces of lobster and it was delicious. I had the spaghetti with light garlic sauce and cheese. I switched to pappardelle because I like the thicker and wider noodle. It was very good and was a very healthy serving size. We had the flourless chocolate cake and ice cream to and the meal and the cake was very moist (often not found in fcc) and made it even better. Our server was nice but very businesslike. Service was very good and my water glass was always full. $1.50 per person charge for bread is lame. Parking down the block in the garage. ($14) Service was Okay. They are efficient and attentive but you don't get the feeling that you are a valued customer here. The woman at the Valet stand ($14) was nicest person at the restaurant and she probably does not work for the restaurant. Table bread could be improved. (Bread Cost: $1.50 pp) If you can't tell by the menu--this is an expensive fine dining restaurant. Expect around $65 to 75 per person with T & T with Appetizer, 2 Mains, 2 Drinks. I do like the atmosphere here, but from a value perspective it's 4 of 5. From just a food perspective 4.5 of 5. From a service perspective 3 of 5. Piccolo is a wonderful little place in Beverly Hills. It has been around awhile and is just adorable. It has this lovely red awing at the entrance. The place is kept super clean. The service is so friendly and warm. They know the menu and wine list well and may suggest something you have never had. You will love them. It can get crowded so make a reservation. They also do delivery and take away. We have been several times and I have forgotten to review. The seating is so comfortable and I love white tablecloths with a wee candle. Try their Cappelletti in Brodo, which has prosciutto stuffed tortellini, and parmesan on chicken broth. Their Melanzane Alla Parmigiana is amazing. It is baked eggplant filled with ricotta, tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese. Every bite is great. We also love their Zuppetta di Cozze e Vongole. This is my grandson's favorite. It comes with steamed mussels and clams in a light spicy tomato sauce. They have so many handmade pastas you will have to come back again and again. Among others they have capellini, rigatoni, gnocchi, fettuccine, penne, fusilli, spaghetti, linguine, and tagliatelle and all of them are made by hand. The sauce you can pick is endless from Aglio e Olio to Polpettine. For your mains their Milanese di Vitello which is a breaded and pounded rack of veal, arugula, and chopped tomato is a favorite as well as their Filetto al Pepe Verde cooked to perfection and always as ordered. It is the best filet mignon all with a green pepper corn sauce, spinach and roasted potato. You must have their lemon meringue pie if you did no eat too much pasta. This has been a favorite of mine since I first moved into a house down the street. I have since graduated high school, college and went through three moves in three different cities and still find this restaurant a staple. The hostess, who has been unchanging, as well as what I assume to be the owner, are absolutely wonderful. They seat you rapidly, attend to you diligently, and make fantastic recommendations - all while soothing you with their silky Italian accents. I would, courtesy of the small crowds I have experienced, consider this the best kept secret in the city. The bolognese is incomparable to anything else in the vicinity. The burrata appetizer is some of the best and freshest burrata I have ever coated my tastebuds with. We had a great dinner here while visiting Beverly Hills. The restaurant itself is on a street with many cute cafes and shops and is right by the Golden Triangle. The inside of the restaurant was decorated in many aesthetic posters. My family ordered three pastas and all of the pasta was handmade and cooked to the perfect time. The sauces were flavorful, and all of them were good portions. There's also an option on the menu to create your own pasta dish which was nice! For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu and banana tart. Both were on the sweeter side but still were great. While I had great food, I'm taking a (half) star off for service. Our waiter was amazing and was super kind and attentive. However, the people working the front sat people who came after me with the same or later reservation time before me despite the fact that I had already checked in for my reservation. I did wait approximately 10-15 minutes to be seated while others with the same reservation were seated right away. However, I'm sure this could have been a mishap and it definitely is not always the case. Piccolo Paradiso really is a "little paradise". We dropped in early one evening without a reservation on a weekend and were able to get seated. We split the arugula salad to start and it was delicious. The mozzarella in it was high quality, soft and flavorful. It was plenty to share. The spinach and ricotta ravioli were light pillows of homemade pasta filled with lots of spinach. That was my favorite dish. My dining partner had the pasta with eggplant and it was also very good. The service was excellent and it felt like the people truly wanted you to enjoy your experience which is rare. Street parking is available and we didn't have trouble getting a space, but later in the evening it may be more difficult. Will definitely return to try more things on the menu! read more

Pros: Piccolo Paradiso has one of the best mushroom risotto I've had in LA. The rice was perfectly cooked and so creamy and there were plenty of mushrooms. The calamari was fried perfectly, not too heavy or greasy, and the batter was light, almost like a tempura batter. Linguini clams were flavorful and the tiramisu was great as well. From the outset of our stay in Beverly Hills, my brother-in-law planned our Aloha Dinner or farewell dinner at one of his favorite Italian restaurants where he was a longtime diner. I had not heard of Piccolo Paradiso or seen any advertisements for it, but I have always trusted my brother-in-law's tastes in food. Also, the flavors of traditional Italian cuisine are among my top likes, as is his. I looked forward even more since he raved about two entrees and their fresh, house-made kinds of pasta. We parked in the Beverly South Parking structure along South Beverly Boulevard, walked past Pascal on Beverly at the corner of Charleville Street, and caught sight of Piccolo Paradiso's red awning and white tented sidewalk dining area. Thankfully, my brother-in-law made dinner reservations for indoor dining because it was a chilly and rainy night. The hostess recognized and warmly greeted my brother-in-law while escorting us to a table inside. The interior featured vintage posters of a classic Sicilian film, Piccolo Paradiso, from which this restaurant draws its name, and several gorgeous Murano glass art pieces. The white linen-topped tables with "candle" lighting looked elegant yet comfortable. Meanwhile, our server, Gaetano, approached our table to take our cocktail and appetizer requests and cited their truffle special menu. Gaetano was smiley, friendly, and professionally efficient. He provided us with menu descriptions, which helped us to solidify our choices, which my brother-in-law had already suggested we try. FOOD: - Calamari Fritti: crispy fried calamari served with arrabbiata and tartar sauce. We were impressed by the crisp, golden, and barely noticeable light coating, which revealed tender squid rings and legs. $20.95 (missing photo) - Insalate Piccolo Paradiso: arugula, fresh mozzarella, tomato, hearts of palm, and shaved Parmesan. We requested to share the salad, and we're glad we did. The generous portion was perfect to share between me and my husband. A very light and fresh-tasting dressing balanced this salad's spicy arugula. $20.95 (missing photo) - Carbonara: Linguine, guanciale, eggs, Pecorino Romano cheese, and pepper. It's not our dish. I didn't try it, but it sure looked tasty. $28.95 - Linguine con Aragosta e Granchio: Linguine, lobster, crab meat, lightly spicy tomato sauce. My husband was shocked by the considerable pasta portion size and the amount of shellfish in this entree. The tangy tomato sauce lifted the seafood's delicate flavor $34.95 - Braciola di Vitello: Grilled rack of veal, rosemary sauce, mashed potato, and vegetables. When my entree was delivered, my body convulsed with the meat sweats. The perfectly grilled veal chop was delicately flavored, sweet (as veal should be), and tender. The rosemary sauce was also lightly flavored while adding a hint of more seasoning to the meat. $52.95 - Cannoli alla Siciliana: Homemade Sicilian cannoli with ricotta and candied fruit. The famous line from The Godfather, "Take the gun. Leave the cannoli." came to mind when these delectable, crisp, and light-fried tubes were delivered to our table. Its ricotta filling, a Sicilian culinary staple, was lightly sweet and airy, yet dense, light, stiff, whipped heavy cream. The use of candied fruits reflects one of the Arab flavor and technique influences in Sicilian baking. $12.75 - Tartufo: Chocolate semifreddo. My chocoholic traits were cued when I saw the word "chocolate." The semifreddo, or frozen dessert similar to ice cream, was rich milk chocolate with a vanilla center enrobed in dark chocolate or cocoa powder. The cocoa powder balanced the sweeter milk chocolate. $12.75 We were happy to have been introduced to Piccolo Paradiso by my brother-in-law as we found the ambiance, flavors, value and service top-notch.
