    Melanzane Con Cannolicchi Alla Charleston
    Sara B.

Originally I had planned to have dinner somewhere else but that place ended up being really packed and our reservation was honestly kind of late in the night...so then we stumbled upon this place. I am so glad they took a party of two walk in. We were seated outside and the ambiance was fun. Got to be by the street. They have heating lamps if you get cold. It's fun. Interesting music choices for the night-- lots of 80s stuff. Food: Melanzane Con Cannolicchi Alla Charleston 8/10: Really tasty. I actually mistaken it for eggplant Parmesan at first because whenever I see "melanzane," I automatically assume. But it's a tube pasta and they put a whole roasted eggplant into it and there is cheese and basil. Really good but I have to remind myself that eggplant sometimes gives me heartburn haha. They do keep the skin on the eggplant too so that will be in there as well. I think the basil is a good balance to the eggplant though. Good portion size! Took most of it home. Tagliata Di Filetto Ai Ferri 10/10: I had one piece to taste and this was cooked super well! I was very impressed by the flavor and the texture. Can't really attest to the how the sides are but it comes with some arugula! Ravioli on the specials menu (some kind of beef inside) 10/10: I totally forgot to make note of what the name of this ravioli is and it's on the specials menu which they rotate a bit so I couldn't find out the names but I believe that this ravioli is with beef and it was delicious. I enjoyed it and the sauce that it was in was super good. Not too heavy. Apologies for not knowing the name. Dessert in honor of World Tiramisu Day was...surprise surprise- tiramisu. It was solid. 7.3/10 from me and 7.9/10 from the person with me. I like my tiramisu a bit more coffee forward and rich but this was great and I can't complain. Finished it. Definitely found a new restaurant in LA not by my usual Instagram wishlist so that was exciting and fun. Enjoyed my experience here and they were pretty quick with their food.

UPDATE: ***Apparently, SMOKING is now allowed at Via Alloro! I am disappointed to report that my concerns with Via Alloro continue. I observed a party seated outdoors smoking during dinner on Sunday, July 5, and no one from the restaurant appeared to address it or ask them to stop. This is especially concerning given that the city of Beverly Hills prohibits smoking at restaurants, including outdoor dining areas. Once again, it gives the impression that Via Alloro believes it does not need to follow the same rules and standards expected of other establishments.

The service was excelent The Food was behoned perfection. The restauarant was clean and well presented. On top of all the good things. The Three young Tenors Il Volo were there and sang Happy Birthday to me. A very special gift. I have enjoyed Via Alloro for many years and now even more. Thank you Il Volo and Thank you Via Alloro Warmest regards Kenneth Bordewick

This place shouldn't exist in Beverly Hills, it's mediocre at best. Would rather go to Il Pastaio (even if it's not the best)

I had Via for lunch and I have no complaints. I did a take out order so if I did it again I would ask for olive oil for the bread they give you. I ordered the steak with arugula salad. Pretty straightforward.

A steadfast outpost of the Drago empire, Via Alloro is an upscale but comfortable place in the heart of Beverly Hills. Cool in the summer heat and nicely appointed, the lovely room is bolstered by a friendly, professional staff that aims to make your time there as satisfying as possible. This time, no food. I slipped in for a refreshing drink, and my Grapefruit Caipirinha did not disappoint. Light, cool, citrusy, but packing enough of a Brazilian wallop to make you feel you're laying out at Copacabana or Ipanema. My bartender, Francisco, passed the time with nice conversation and a welcoming smile. Back soon for a full meal.

We did not have reservations at Via Alloro but we were able to get a table street side at the last moment on a Saturday night. Service was pretty good. Mostly attentive, bread and drinks arrived timely. It was not cool enough for heaters but they had them. By 7:30 pm the place was full and there was plenty of activity. We shared an appetizer of Calamari. I ordered Linguine as my main course. It was good but not great. A bit dry. Flavor was good and it was served warm. I was satisfied but not overwhelmed. It worked. It was priced right for Beverly Hills and we saw Cheech Marin there as a side note. Always a plus. Parking is street side or there is a fair priced parking structure a half block away. Try Via Alloro for your own experience.

Overall had a great work dinner here. Service was spectacular, great ambiance and food was great! My favorite was the pasta from the cheese wheel. Such savory great flavor! Octopus appetizer was very tasty as well. Drinks were also excellent! Old fashioned was my favorite but their lemonciello spritzer was great too.

The food is really great always enjoy my margarita pizza, it's super thin and crunchy which I love. I also love their vodka pink sauce pasta it is amazing. Aside from the food I will say customer service was not good. We kept waiting on our waiter for a long time and we waited 20 minutes for our check. I felt a dynamic switch occur since there was a celebrity that walked in. So overall food is good but the waiter could have been better at treating us and not making a customer wait super long.

A nice Italian restaurant on Canon with friendly service, good cocktails and an excellent wine list. The pastas are delicious. Other items are good too. The vibe is not particularly up to the upscale neighborhood.

For years, I have been curious how this huge, beautiful restaurant is able to maintain such appreciation! Tonight, I learned many reasons why this is. Though we had a reservation, we still waited a little (not a bad thing, I loved the company I was with). However, they had the table but wanted to be thorough in its cleanliness: very much was! My favorite reason for reviewing a restaurant: the scene! WHAT a scene! It was loud: YES! However the vibe was vibing! It was fun and the age range was the whole gamut! The music choice-- alone, that was worth it. The people watching: I was agog, I mean I was agogging! Stunning crowd and loved it. The service: absolutely on point. Not one thing to critique. They were well humored, knew all the answers and probably knew what you were going to ask before you did. The owner approached EACH table and chatted. You always feel VIPish! Now the food. I mean we loved it all. I ordered the carrot and ginger soup and it was on par delicious, without the spiciness, which allowed for my wife to try and take part of mine. I also had the Gnocchi pesto. It practically melted in your mouth. It was so good that my wife , who does not like gnocchi, LOVED it this and practically ate most of mine. So if you want GREAT food, you must come here (just don't bring my wife, she'll take your portion!)! I wish I could give 7 stars to this flawless dinner!

Walked in and was seated right away by Justine and Susie. They greeted us to our table and we're very pleasant. We sat down and ordered Diet Coke. And we were served bread. Gio our waiter came to our table and took our order. We ordered lobster pasta. It was some of the best tasting pasta in Beverly Hills. We sat outside so we had the whole view of Dayton Way and the ambience is very cozy. Gio was the best waiter in Beverly Hills. He's very prompt and knows exactly what he's doing. Via Alloro is the best restaurant in Beverly Hills. I recommend Via Alloro!

Came here for birthday dinner and of course I will have my high expectation on this fine dining restaurant in Beverly Hills. When arrive, we were asked whether wanna sit outside or inside which we chose inside. Table is toooo small, I get it if they want to maximize the space, but it doesn't have to sacrifice the comfortable when dining in. I reserve through open table that dinner is to celebrate birthday and yet no one acknowledge. The Octopus as a start was delish! Chicken Ruspante was gigantic and tender and lastly the Risotto Ink was too drenched with ink sauce, they could to better in this! Service was 'just fine', considering this is a fine dining restaurant - things just don't reflect in so many aspects. Will I go back - NO...

Honestly, it worked out perfectly because they had AC and it was HOT in Beverly Hills that day lol. The inside of the restaurant was actually really beautiful too! Everyone in our group enjoyed everything we ordered, from the appetizers all the way to dessert. HIGHLIGHT of our lunch: my husband and I surprised my mother-in-law with a bouquet of pink roses, so we asked the hostess if they could keep it in their cooler room until the end of lunch. After dessert, they brought the flowers out for us and my mother-in-law was so surprised and happy It honestly made the whole celebration feel extra special. There are other locations but this I think was the first one and since it was the one I frequented it's the one I will miss. I have so many fond memories of this restaurant. I came here as a little girl with my family because it was casual enough for a well mannered child but fancy enough to please the adults. One time I decided to get into shape. Every time someone asked me out for lunch or dinner I said I wanted to go to Il Fornaio. I would order a bowl of the vegetable soup or vegetarian soup of the day and the Regina Salad. The salad did wild arugula, couscous, avocado, red onions, capers, raisins, and lemon oil dressing. It was a fabulous and filling meal that also kept me skinny. I could honestly eat it every day and never get bored. During Covid I came here and we ate outside on the sidewalk. We enjoyed watching the pedestrian scene and "staying safe" while being able to eat out again. I really missed going out and I felt comfortable here which was important during Covid time. Every Halloween Il Fornaio would have 1/2 price pizza. My family made a tradition to order it. I LOVED this tradition and I'm going to miss it this Halloween. Their pizza was delicious. One time I came here with a boyfriend because they had a cooking class in the back. They had a huge entertainment room in the back of the restaurant. I wish I had a chance to have a special event here to rent it out. We had so much fun as we watched the chef talk about how to prepare each dish and what was even better is that we got to taste it in the end. We ate seabass with golden raisins, baked pasta with eggplant, and a cannoli for dessert. They even had a party souvenir which was an Il Fornaio plate to hang on the wall. Last time I came here was on the Fourth of July last year. It was also dine-la and they had the best deal of any of the dine-la restaurants. Not all the dine-la deals are good but this one truly was one of the best in terms of value for money. It was a three course meal with the most delicious fish entree. Who doesn't love a good deal? We had a fabulous time! Lastly, in recent years they added a happy hour menu to the restaurant and it was fabulous. I did another review on that so I'll keep it short here but the food and drinks were just wonderful. I will miss the friendly waiters who have been there forever. They don't make them like that anymore. Arrivederci to a true "classic"!

When I ordered a Twist cocktail and asked if it could be made with tequila instead, our server said he would check with the bartender. He later returned and tol us it wasn't possible, so my friend ordered a different drink instead. What was frustrating is that he never mentioned happy hour had ended while we were waiting for him to come back. We were then charged $10 for the original drink we never received, and the replacement drink was charged at full price because happy hour had expired. That didn't feel fair since the delay was entirely on the server's end. To make matters worse, a 20% service charge was already added to the bill, yet the service was some of the worst we've experienced. Between the long wait, poor communication, and incorrect charges, the experience didn't match the reputation or prices of this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it based on the service alone. I showed up right when they opened at 5 pm on a weekday, and there was already a decent line forming. I was luckily able to grab a solo bar spot. Ambiance wise it's very high end, low-lit and romantic. The bartender here walked me through the menu and made a recommendation for the best wine to pair with my meal, which I appreciated. This night's menu featured zucchini blossoms, which I couldn't pass up. They were delicious, don't get me wrong - lightly fried on the outside and stuffed to the brim with cheese. But once my pasta came out, I wish I'd ordered two pastas instead. I went with the signature pappardelle ragu which I still have not thinking about. Fresh, chewy noodles made to perfection, drowning in a rich ragu packed with meat and flavor. Evan Funke is truly gifted and has really created something singular here. If I lived in LA, this would be the place I treat myself at every month.

It's very good, but for the price I expected even more of a vibe on the rooftop…read more Excellent service and good food. I Especially loved the panzanella salad and the steak tartare and the lemon pizza. This is probably my favorite Funke restaurant so far, and I have tried Felix and Mother Wolf.

I know, crazy, right? But we did it! You'd think just having the Porterhouse would be enough -- apparently it wasn't because we started with bread. At our server's recommendation we chose the bruschetta. Wow, what a fantastic start! The crunchy charred bread topped with the creamy Burrata and house made apricot jam was beyond delicious! Then he asked for his favorite pasta from our last visit -- SPAGHETTI ALL'ARRABBIATA. We can never get tired of this one. The house made pasta coated in that spicy sauce is so satisfying. Then came the steak. Although our server warned us that it was huge, we were still surprised when it arrived. But then came the included sides of fried fingerling potatoes and Ruchetta salad -- to say 'generous portions' is an understatement. I literally laughed at the mountain of salad when it arrived. It was all just incredible. The Prime Porterhouse was at the correct temperature, seasoned well and melt in your mouth amazing. The fried potatoes were hot, crisp and tasty. The salad was so good that the husband ate it -- I couldn't believe it! I tapped out early and in order to leave room for dessert, I had to force the husband to stop. We chose the CROSTATA DI MARMELLATA because of the apricots. We were so happy to have dined while they're in season and incorporated into Mother Wolf's menu. We were then surprised with complimentary sorbet (NETTARINA) and gelato (VANIGLIA) for our birthdays. Beautifully presented, the sweetness of each dessert was perfectly balanced and a wonderful end to a fantastic dinner. And this goes without saying -- service was impeccable. Thanks to the Mother Wolf team for another great experience!
