Beautiful ambiance, but the Italian food here was just decent. I visited this restaurant with a large group for a friend's birthday and our experience here was generally okay. We did family style, so here's the following dishes we had: - Pizza Margherita and Pizza Bianca Con Prosciutto E Fresh Arugula: Was not a fan of the dough on these. They didn't seem to be of good quality and tasted and felt like something from a chain restaurant not specializing in Italian cuisine. They gave more of a flatbread almost cracker like feel. - Strozzapreti Alla Vodka: Unique pasta texture, but wasn't super impressed. Something I could make at home. - Ravioli Di Burrata: One of the dishes I did like. Tasty ravioli and texture was solid. - Tortelloni Di Mais: My favorite among the dishes. It was delicious! Loved the combo of the savory truffle cheese sauce with the sweet and creamy corn filling. Pasta texture could've been more consistent though. - Tagliatelle Porcini: Wasn't a fan and wasn't the greatest quality. Felt and tasted like something from an amateur's kitchen. - Riso Croccante E Tonno: This felt out of place like it was supposed to be in an Asian restaurant?? The spicy tuna and greens were refreshing, but the risotto was not crispy and disappointing. Regardless of the mixed food opinions, I did love the ambiance. It was like dining under real lemon trees. I went to eat here with two of my friends and our server whose name was Rito I believe was unbelievably rude. I always try to keep good manners I come from a family that owns resteraunt and knows how hard it is to be a server so I show them the upmost respect, I asked my server his name and he immediately gives me a death stare and says he doesn't give out his name. After that he says call me sir. I was in shock and then after he tells me his name is rito or something maybe his last name. I proceed to begin ordering for the table and he interrupts me and starts asking everyone else around the table making me look like an idiot. Throughout the night he greeted every table and skipped ours every time we were in between two other tables he was serving and he greeted them and not us every single time. I'm so terribly sorry for asking your name rito hopefully you treat the next customer smiling at you trying to be nice a little bit better. read more

Another night filled with cigarette smoke at Via Alloro. This time, two guests were smoking INDOORS. Beverly Hills prohibits smoking both inside and outside restaurants, yet this continues to happen here. It's particularly frustrating when you're trying to enjoy dinner and are forced to sit in or breathe secondhand smoke. Originally I had planned to have dinner somewhere else but that place ended up being really packed and our reservation was honestly kind of late in the night...so then we stumbled upon this place. I am so glad they took a party of two walk in. We were seated outside and the ambiance was fun. Got to be by the street. They have heating lamps if you get cold. It's fun. Interesting music choices for the night-- lots of 80s stuff. Food: Melanzane Con Cannolicchi Alla Charleston 8/10: Really tasty. I actually mistaken it for eggplant Parmesan at first because whenever I see "melanzane," I automatically assume. But it's a tube pasta and they put a whole roasted eggplant into it and there is cheese and basil. Really good but I have to remind myself that eggplant sometimes gives me heartburn haha. They do keep the skin on the eggplant too so that will be in there as well. I think the basil is a good balance to the eggplant though. Good portion size! Took most of it home. Tagliata Di Filetto Ai Ferri 10/10: I had one piece to taste and this was cooked super well! I was very impressed by the flavor and the texture. Can't really attest to the how the sides are but it comes with some arugula! Ravioli on the specials menu (some kind of beef inside) 10/10: I totally forgot to make note of what the name of this ravioli is and it's on the specials menu which they rotate a bit so I couldn't find out the names but I believe that this ravioli is with beef and it was delicious. I enjoyed it and the sauce that it was in was super good. Not too heavy. Apologies for not knowing the name. Dessert in honor of World Tiramisu Day was...surprise surprise- tiramisu. It was solid. 7.3/10 from me and 7.9/10 from the person with me. I like my tiramisu a bit more coffee forward and rich but this was great and I can't complain. Finished it. Definitely found a new restaurant in LA not by my usual Instagram wishlist so that was exciting and fun. Enjoyed my experience here and they were pretty quick with their food. read more

Every time we go there it's just getting better we love this place always clean and delicious

It's my first time visiting LA and I saw this restaurant while walking down the street and it caught my eye!! I made a reservation tonight finally after looking at the menu and pictures of food that looked really good... little did I know it would be an awful experience. The pizza was paper thin with little to no sauce we sent back. The Caesar salad was warm when it came out and tasteless! The worst part is our waiter didn't look in our direction ONCE after the appetizers were served!!! After 30 minutes we had enough... we asked for the check and got out of there... ended up at the Cheesecake Factory down the street with the best server and food. We did not have reservations at Via Alloro but we were able to get a table street side at the last moment on a Saturday night. Service was pretty good. Mostly attentive, bread and drinks arrived timely. It was not cool enough for heaters but they had them. By 7:30 pm the place was full and there was plenty of activity. We shared an appetizer of Calamari. I ordered Linguine as my main course. It was good but not great. A bit dry. Flavor was good and it was served warm. I was satisfied but not overwhelmed. It worked. It was priced right for Beverly Hills and we saw Cheech Marin there as a side note. Always a plus. Parking is street side or there is a fair priced parking structure a half block away. The food was very good, fresh and delicious. I was not a fan of the service. We were given bread without any butter, olive oil, or vinegar. It took forever to get a waiter to our table and we would ask like 3 different waiters to bring something because each waiter kept forgetting to bring something and our food got cold at that point. read more

For years, I have been curious how this huge, beautiful restaurant is able to maintain such appreciation! Tonight, I learned many reasons why this is. Though we had a reservation, we still waited a little (not a bad thing, I loved the company I was with). However, they had the table but wanted to be thorough in its cleanliness: very much was! My favorite reason for reviewing a restaurant: the scene! WHAT a scene! It was loud: YES! However the vibe was vibing! It was fun and the age range was the whole gamut! The music choice-- alone, that was worth it. The people watching: I was agog, I mean I was agogging! Stunning crowd and loved it. The service: absolutely on point. Not one thing to critique. They were well humored, knew all the answers and probably knew what you were going to ask before you did. The owner approached EACH table and chatted. You always feel VIPish! Now the food. I mean we loved it all. I ordered the carrot and ginger soup and it was on par delicious, without the spiciness, which allowed for my wife to try and take part of mine. I also had the Gnocchi pesto. It practically melted in your mouth. It was so good that my wife , who does not like gnocchi, LOVED it this and practically ate most of mine. Tried this spot for the first time with a friend - overall it's just ok. it gets very loud when it's busy since the tables are close together. Service was unfortunately pretty slow; it took about 20 minutes for someone to even come take our order. We ordered the tricolor salad (wouldn't recommend), vodka pasta, and another penne dish - none of them really stood out. The highlight was the lychee martini - definitely the best part of the meal, even if not the best I've ever had. Overall, it's a decent place but not particularly memorable. read more

Gio our waiter came to our table and took our order. We ordered lobster pasta. It was some of the best tasting pasta in Beverly Hills. We sat outside so we had the whole view of Dayton Way and the ambience is very cozy. Gio was the best waiter in Beverly Hills. He's very prompt and knows exactly what he's doing. Came here for birthday dinner and of course I will have my high expectation on this fine dining restaurant in Beverly Hills. When arrive, we were asked whether wanna sit outside or inside which we chose inside. Table is toooo small, I get it if they want to maximize the space, but it doesn't have to sacrifice the comfortable when dining in. I reserve through open table that dinner is to celebrate birthday and yet no one acknowledge. The Octopus as a start was delish! Chicken Ruspante was gigantic and tender and lastly the Risotto Ink was too drenched with ink sauce, they could to better in this! We arrived for our reservation and had specifically requested outdoor seating. When we checked in, we were told it would be about a 20-minute wait for an outdoor table, so we were seated inside instead and told it was the "best seat in the house," which unfortunately was not the case. After being seated, we waited around 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. When I asked for a wine list, the server left to get one and did not return for another 5 minutes, even though the rest of the table was ready to order drinks. The food itself was good, which was the highlight of the experience. However, when the bill arrived, we noticed we had been charged $10 for the bread that had been brought to the table without any mention that it was not complimentary. We brought this up to the waiter, who removed the charge, but also told us that next time we should assume the bread is not free. Had we been informed upfront that there was a charge, we would not have ordered or eaten it. By that point, we were so frustrated we nearly got up and left. When our waiter finally arrived, he gave off this vibe of being "sorry," but it felt totally insincere -- more like he was just going through the motions. We communicated how disappointed we were, but nothing was really done to make up for it. The only redeeming thing about the entire meal was the bread, which says a lot. Everything else was far below expectations. This was supposed to be a romantic birthday dinner, and the restaurant completely ruined it. I wish we had gone to The Honor Bar nearby instead. Had lunch yesterday at Via Alloro and was disappointed with the hostess with the bob short hair cut. She was rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional. Apparently, the owner told us she has worked there for years and deflected the whole situation...A warm greeting and basic courtesy go a long way, but unfortunately that was not the experience we had with her. However, our waiter and restaurant manager were wonderful! Customer service is such an important part of any restaurant experience. I hope management takes better steps to improving the guest experience starting at the hostess desk. read more

I came here for a girls night and had the best time! The food was incredible, we ordered a few appetizers and entrees so we could have a taste of everything. I'm really picky when it comes to prosciutto, I love it but a lot of places serve it super thick or with a ton of fat, but it was perfection! I'm not a seafood person at all, but even I have to say the clam pasta was out of this world! Our server, Armen, was amazing. He was patient, so funny, and really made our night, giving us great suggestions on both cocktails and food. We had a party of 7 sitting on the patio, one of whom was clearly under age so not ordering alcohol. When it became clear that no one was ordering alcohol, and that we just entrees, the waiter become borderline rude, impatient, refused to provide any flexibility in minor changes to how food was prepared to accommodate allergies, etc, and appeared completely disinterested in providing ANY level of grace in the service. I was redirected from a $22 past to a $32 pasta, which i didn't want, and felt rushed to make a decision. It felt like he or mgt just wanted to turn the table. Insofar as we were charged a 20% tip on top of a meal of pastas of all and one pizza (total: nearly $500), the place needs vast improvement in the service given what they charge. I work a block away (and had just had lunch there last week), and the experience leads me never to return. To add to the insult: if you sit on the back patio, you will be impacted by periodic wafts of cigar smoke from the adjacent Havana Lounge/Cigar Club. If you want a patio, there are better options, no more expensive in the area, try other options. read more

Very poor service... not ONCE did a server come by to refill drinks unless we flagged them down. Food took forever (30+ minutes) to come out after ordering (and the restaurant was not packed by any means). Quality of food was decent, although a friend who ordered the ravioli was disappointed because his food came out way undercooked and had to be sent back. Ambiance was ok, felt a little dead / dated in there, but not bad or anything. First, we waited over 20 minutes before anyone even came to take our order -- we had to get the manager ourselves just to get service. Our coffee was never refilled, even though the server passed by our table multiple times. I ordered the calamari and shrimp salad but received the calamari appetizer instead. When the correct salad finally came, it only had three pieces of calamari and three shrimp -- for $25! On top of that, it had a strange, unpleasant taste, almost like mildew. Absolutely unacceptable. My husband had to speak with the manager, who was dismissive, defensive, and lacked any sense of customer care. She needs serious retraining. The whole experience--from service to food quality--was just awful. The only decent thing was my husband's pizza, which he said was good. They did remove my meal from the bill, but that doesn't make up for the entire bad experience. We will never return, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place. read more

My grandparents have visited me in LA for the first time in 10+ years, my grandfather being a New Yorker & my grandmother an Italian, I have been very pick and choose with the restaurants I have taken them to during their stay. I am very, very, very beyond pleased with my experience at this restaurant tonight. I had requested with Justina & Fatima a private secluded outdoor table to which they accommodated perfectly, and they were also extremely polite! The bread was amazing, perfectly warm for you to be able to enjoy as it was sat down on your table, and also very reasonably priced and portioned! $1.50 / 2 slices of bread & condiments. (You maybe need 2/4 slices max) I ordered the Tagliata Di Bue - I am very particular when it comes to any steak order - very rare and a treat for myself..... & I am so glad I decided to order. My steak was phenomenal. I'm talking 20 out of 10. The presentation was immaculate, the sauce mixture between the steak and the salad, everything was just spectacular. This was truly a great experience for myself, and a great experience for the grandparents. read more
