The Boyfriend and I came in today just to window shop, not expecting to purchase anything. As soon as we walked in, Robbie (or Robby) greeted us offering assistance. We walked around to see the options available and within a matter of minutes we each locked eyes with a bike and decided to take the bikes for a spin around the block. I had a great experience today with Josh. I have a Shimano indexed shifter that went bad on the 7 gear side (21 gears in total--3 on the left). I wasn't sure it could be fixed. It's also integrated with the brake lever so it would have been difficult and expensive to replace. I would have probably had to replace both sides. At first, Josh couldn't quite get it to catch properly and consistently but he persisted and after about 15 minutes he got it working! A quick lube and adjustment of the derailleurs and I was out the door! I thought I was going to have to leave the bike in the shop. And it was a very reasonable cost for the labor. I'll definitely be coming back here. read more

This place is great. My bike's shifting started to go south and I gave The Bicycle Stand a call, because they're local and their hours were so accommodating. Anyway, the mechanic (David) told me to bring it on down so they could take a look. After about 5 seconds (seriously, he's that good), David diagnosed the problem and suggested a solution. Now my bike is shifting like new again! The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were friendly and helpful. The owner was walking around helping customers and making conversation as well. You could tell that they all take pride in the shop. They have a good selection of cruisers and commuter bikes. I didn't see many "racing" bikes, but I'm sure they have some and if not, it wouldn't surprise me if they were able to order one. David said that they also offer bike fittings, which is awesome. Ian and staff had the ability to converse on an elevated level with my husband who has a history of racing and took the time to break all things down for me the beginner/novelist devoid of frustration or impatience. We took our bike back for adjustments and absolutely NO issues...treated us rightfully as a customer should be with respect and with the same pleasantries as when we made our purchase. I walked into this store as a total newbie, and to my pleasant surprise the customer service here, as a start was wonderful. I was approached while looking at the line of bicycles by a worker. She was great, answered all of my questions I threw at her, and was very patient. After finding the bike I wanted, I love how she incorporated my sense of style and opinion, where other shops I've gone into it felt more like, "what you see is what you get." I loved all of the suggestions and options that were given to me as she said, "if you could think it, it could probably happen." When it came down to the customizing they did everything in about an hour, and I was very happy with how careful and precise everything was done by the other worker who did all the customizing. The end result was all love. I love my new ride and I couldn't have been more satisfied from the place I bought it from. Since the pandemic started and most places were closed, I had to get creative and find a way to get some sunshine while still keeping a social distance from people. So, I thought, biking! I researched for days and decided I wanted a Linus bike but I did not want to wait a few weeks to receive it if I ordered it online. So I quickly searched for nearby bike shops that carried the specific model bike that I wanted. I came across The Bicycle Stand on Yelp and quickly called the store to see if they had the bike I wanted. And they did! We drove to Long Beach to go check it out and I was surprised at how many brands they carried. The inside of the store was very organized and they carried a lot of accessories. One of the workers there, who I forgot his name was very helpful and answered any questions we had. He seemed to know a lot about bikes so I felt confident asking for his opinion on anything bike related prior to our purchase. My boyfriend and I settled on 2 Linus bikes. We bought all the accessories for our bikes while we were there and the same worker who was helping us helped put the accessories on our bikes free of charge. Talk about amazing service! Overall, if you are looking for a nice bike want to see a lot of options, I'd highly recommend The Bicycle Stand! Tips: 1. The shop is located in a residential area so parking can be kind of tricky but not as bad as Downtown Long Beach. 2. If you already know which bike brand you want, make sure to call ahead of time to see if the store carries it just to be safe. 3. If you are interested in buying accessories, I'd recommend buying the accessories at the store! They are reasonably priced and you don't have to worry about buying them elsewhere. This shop if literally your one stop shop to building your perfect bike. We bought our headlights, water bottle holder, basket, and locks here. 4. I would give this place 7 stars if I could. First of all I'm a bike idiot. I know nothing about bikes and need to have everything explained in 5 year old terms. I came in because my bike was having problems about 2 months ago, they gave me a quote and I decided to not get anything done. They were totally cool with with it. First cool point to them. I come back because my car broke down, meaning I have to ride my bike (and I have two that are broken). So they give me a quote to fix the first bike, and adjust the second bike (it was making a noise) so that I could write it to work. No charge. Second cool point to them. Also, they added on a handlebar adjustment for 15$ without telling me beforehand. I would have gladly paid for it because of how much they've helped me beforehand. But when I mentioned it to them "hey there's a new charge on there" (not complaining ) and they asked me if I had been aware of it before and I said no, no questions Chad took it off the price. That was pretty cool of them. Third cool point to them. Needless to say this place is legit. They take care of you and are fair. I know I've been more of a pain in the butt to them than anything, but whenever I need to buy something for my bike or need to get it fixed, I'm coming here, or recommending it to everyone I know. I had a project bicycle that needed a lot of help - those old French bikes certainly don't conform to modern standards! Head heavy with shame and a partially-built bicycle with a bag full of extra parts in hand, I rolled into the shop during lunch. Immediately I was greeted and helped by the staff. They asked me what I was looking to do, what I had already done, and then went over all the steps they were going to take to get me riding. Awesome stuff. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when I discovered that some of the vintage parts I sourced wouldn't quite fit right. I had to go and search for period-appropriate parts that added about a week to my wait time. Oh the French! Anyway, I did eventually get my bike back and to say it was worth all that time is a severe understatement. While it was certainly in rideable condition when I first bought it, it was now in tip-top shape and gorgeous to boot! Seriously, I love my 'bacon and it's thanks to the awesome people at The Bicycle Stand! As a daily work commuter, she is unparalleled. Even the price was more than reasonable, considering everything that had to get done (derailleurs, barcon shifters, cork tape, wheel truing, vintage decals, cleaning, and waxing). I've since recommended them to everyone under the sun who needs a tune or even a whole new bike (vintage or otherwise). Also they're the only place I've found that sells and services Brompton folding bikes (which made my UK-transplant friends very happy). They are courteous, patient, and knowledgeable with zero pretentiousness. You guys rock! read more

I was in the market for a bike that I could use everyday and to travel a bit further outside of Long Beach. I looked around other bicycle shops for the perfect one, but I couldn't stop thinking about the Linus bike I saw here. Due to COVID-19, they're very busy. Don't get offended if you can't be helped immediately due to the amount of staff they have on shift and the phone calls they receive. Please be patient! It's all worth it in the end! I came back today because I decided to purchase the bike I really wanted. They didn't have the particular bike in-stock but was able to have it ordered and delivered to their store. The staff at the Bicycle stand are super friendly and helpful! I went in because I had a flat tire and first went to just ask if they could pump up my tire and they happily let me use their pump. When I realized I needed new inner tube, they changed it as soon as they could. Patrick was awesome! He answered all of my questions about types of inner tubes, the gears on our bike and other things. He even put on a missing bolt that I needed on my bike and made a few small adjustments to our bike that he spotted at no cost.
