I was in the neighborhood helping my hubs and I was starving!!! Never been here in my life and certainly never heard of it. At first I was like yeah I want some biscuits but then I looked at the menu and saw New Orleans oatmeal. It intrigued me so much I had to try it. The hubs gave me a ton of sh*t saying how are you going to get oatmeal when it's a biscuit place hahaha Well let me say this was the best damn oatmeal I've ever had in my entire life!! The mix of flavors they use compliment everything perfectly!! Even when I opened my bowl to eat it the hubs said it smelled pretty good! I swear it should be made into a candle it smells so amazing! Let me also touch on the service! I wish I grabbed the waitresses name cause that lady was the nicest and not in a fake way the nicest person I've ever met! Like if I could see peoples auras hers would be beautiful and bright!!! Plus she made my oatmeal and not joke it was made with love!!! LOVE DAMN IT!!! Anyway if you ever think of having oatmeal in a restaurant this is the place to have it!! I have never been disappointed when I go to The Big Biscuit. I was surprised that they weren't super packed on a Saturday morning. I always have a sweet tooth when it comes to breakfast food. Their cinnamon roll pancakes are amazing! It's like eating dessert for breakfast. They come with an icing on top. They are so sweet that you don't even need syrup. I was only able to eat half of them and took the other half home. I ordered them in a combo with eggs and bacon. The service there is always so friendly and efficient. We didn't have to wait long for our food at all and it was so good. You won't regret going to The Big Biscuit. read more

I don't know why some of the other reviewers are being so silly. Seriously, 1 star because they didn't have jack cheese? Not helpful at all. This is a new place so I'm excusing some new restaurant jitters. I had a good experience and enjoyed my food a great deal. Came on a Saturday and the place was quite busy. I was seated quickly and a server got our drinks to us promptly. Food came out in a good time frame and the food was at the right temp. (Pics included) I thoroughly enjoyed my omelet and it come with a next level fluffy biscuit. They even had some honey for me. I also must make sure to comment that everything is very reasonably priced. The dinning are was clean, well lit, open, and I didn't feel like I was sitting right on top of the people next to me. My wife and I will be back and I'm happy to have another brunch place to add to my list here in the area. read more

The restaurant was clean and pleasant inside. I ordered breakfast for lunch. Oatmeal with a bowl of fruit and big biscuit on the side , brown sugar, and fruit to add to Oatmeal. Everything was delicious. It wasn't noisy inside, and the tables were spaced so it wasn't crowded . I will go there again. read more

Being a biscuit and gravy connoisseur I will say this little joint nailed it. Biscuits are fluffy and light and the sausage gravy was yummy. My husband ordered a loaded sticky bun, I had one small bite... way to sweet for my liking but he devoured it. I ordered the country Benedict and it was enough for 2 to share for sure!! I took it to go...which I never take left overs of breakfast home, but there was no way I could eat it and it was too good to go to waste. My husband also ordered the Laredo scrambled and sour dough toast. He gave it 2 thumbs up! We will visit again next time we're in town. read more

Very disappointed in big biscuit. They are not accommodating to modifications of their dishes. Wanted to get the 3 car pile up with the pancake on the side and was told "the higher ups" don't allow us to do that. Don't understand what the big deal is, an extra plate to wash? There are plenty of other restaurants in johnson county that have much better food and more accommodating. Recommend going elsewhere. read more

I really am disappointed in this place now. We visited this weekend. After two weeks of a new manager it has changed drastically. We had to send back under cooked pancakes and chicken strips that were rubbery and cold. The floor had dirt and food everywhere. We watched two tables cleaned off with silverware left on the floor. It almost looked like it hadn't been swept from the day before. This place needs to step up and fix things. read more

Today I was craving an omelette. Decided to try big biscuit for the first time. It was good food and the proportions were huge. But the bill with a house coffee was $14.75. The waitress was good so had to tip well. Ended up costing me $18. Per the outrageous price of coffee I'm going to pass on this place from now on. I mean how about .75 coffee. It literally cost them less then .10 to make. It wasn't that good, that's for sure! read more

I have gotten to go orders for my staff and least 3 times a week for the past year. This morning however I was not satisfied and called the manager only to be told it was made the same as always and I was incorrect in expecting anything different. Ordered 3 orders of biscuits and gravy and there was hardly any gravy, it did not even cover the biscuits. That is not normal and if that is the way it is supposed to be I guess we will not be ordering there again. read more

My wife and I had lunch here at 1:30 on 6/11/23. As usual the food was very good - 5 stars - but we witnessed something that was enough to make us reconsider ever going back. One of the waitresses was sweeping an area (part of pre-closing cleanup) and used the same broom to clean off the booth seating areas as she was using to sweep the floor, going back and forth between the filthy floor and the booth cushions. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what kinds of germs were being spread to the cushions. read more

The service was excellent. We went super early and they only had one waitress and she did fabulous. The sticky biscuit was great! We woofed it down and I would definitely eat that again. The French toast sticks were ok, they were kind of burnt. The Hollandaise sauce was the worst sauce I have ever had. It had a weird sour, Mayo taste. Overall the food was mediocre but the service was excellent. It probably will never be tried again on our visits to Kansas. read more

Whoever created the Cinnamon pancake thing is a genius. I love you and I want to meet you. Highly recommend getting the cinnamon pancake thing. IT TASTES LIKE A CINNOMON ROLL but pancakes. Waiters are always nice here I've had my outfits complimented and had good small talk and nice waiters and waitresses. read more

We have been here three times and each time was better than the last. Today we were greeted quickly (though they were very busy) and the server was ultra friendly. We ordered our food and it arrived in less than 5 minutes. It was fresh and very good. The coffee situation is not too bad either for a place like this. It's definitely not Onyx Coffee Lab Coffee. I'm a fan of any kind of bread, and a good biscuit will almost always make me sit up and take notice. I was excited to try the Big Biscuit, but my first experience here was better than the ones that followed it. Don't get me wrong, the quality of the food seems consistent, and the popularity of this place (as evidenced by the wait time on Saturday mornings!) illustrates that they are doing something right. I've just been trying several things on the menu, and I find that there are only a few things that are really "special" for my liking. The biscuits themselves seem to be hit or miss with my last couple of visits finding them drier than I prefer... it might have been that I arrived later in the morning when the batches of biscuits were being baked farther apart. Regardless, the omelettes are tasty and the layered breakfast called "The Titanic" is a great choice for the adventurous. It seems to me that we have more than our fair share of breakfast and brunch only places in the area. This one is fine, but there are many others I like just as well, if not better. read more

Hmmm is the menu item biscuits and gravy or is it biscuits or gravy? Inquiring minds want to know. Nice upcharge for gravy and yet 1/4 of the order you have to scrape the plate to have any at the end. Now I know why we are not regulars at this location. Service was mediocre, you have to ask 4x for something simple like syrup for French toast I guess they have to wait until your food is cold before they bring it to you for safety reasons. They don't want you to burn yourself on room temperature food. read more

Ordered for pickup...got the Haystack...and the kids ordered Chocolate Chip Pancakes. Everything was very good, exactly aa described. Didn't forget anything...all the butter, syrup, napkins, silverware...everything we needed was there. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted (all employees were wearing masks)...and within less then 5 ministers, we were leaving with our food. Definitely recommend...we will be trying again real soon. read more

My Wife and I went to the Big Biscuit in Olathe Ks. This morning. We were absolutely blown away as soon as we walked up to the restaurant. We were meet at the door and seated immediately. Our came up with our menus and asked for our drink requests. When she returned with our drinks she took our orders for our meals. While we were wai2 for our breakfast the waitress(Ann) made sure we were informed of the status of our food. I ordered The Alamo omelet which was the size of Texas. Very good had enough jalapenos in it to make it a touch warm. My Wife had the old stand by eggs over easy and hash browns. Our entire order was very hot. We had a very pleasing breakfast. We will definitely be returning to the "Big Biscuit" in Olathe Ks. read more
