Hard work and good food often go unnoticed. It's time that ends. These are our cooks, servers, owners etc and what they do behind the scenes is beyond what comes out on your plate. I had very high hopes in enjoying a light fluffy biscuit but was a little disappointed to find the biscuits were a little dense and doughy. I still enjoyed it as it was served nice and hot and I slathered it with butter and blackberry jam. With the name of the restaurant, I expected a little more. Ok let's start with the bad first! $3.89 for a small glass of chocolate milk!! COME ON! This is crazy especially when there are four of you? The food is very pricey for us. The food is great but no comparison to Grannies. The positive thing is there friendly and our waitress Ashley was great with a smile every time and very accommodating. We checked out The Biscuit Barn North for 4th of July weekend and nothing on the menu disappointed. We were a group of 19 (!) and they quickly and graciously accommodated us all. Everyone ordered a variety of items and everything we tried was delicious. The owner, AJ, came out to greet us and make sure everything was going well. The best surprise of all was when our check was paid for by a lovely couple who had been sitting next to us the whole time! And yes, the entire check for the 19 of us! This is a great diner-type environment. We were a little worried about the lack of parking when we pulled in, but there were plenty more spots in the back. There wasn't a table available when we first walked in, which was a little awkward as we stood by the door, but one opened up within 10 minutes. The food was great for a breakfast-lover like myself - lots of interesting specialty biscuit sandwiches to choose from (among other diner-esque food) and the biscuits themselves were incredible. We went with Skye biscuits (egg, bacon and cheese) and sides of home fries and fried apples. My only criticism is that the cheese was a little overwhelming - felt a little more like fake, runny nacho cheese, versus actual melted cheddar. The food at Biscuit Barn North is one of the better breakfasts in the area. However, none of the employees wear masks. In fact, the owner's comments appear to suggest a certain pride in the employees not wearing masks. if this pandemic has you properly concerned for your health and the health of their employees, please note the owner may be misinterpreting a customer's desire to adhere to the National CDC recommendations as just being "scared." I personally believe the CDC recommendations represent better guidance than a State or County "ordinance."
