Our favorite restaurant in tahoe. We have several meals here during our stays and we enjoyed all of them. The brunch dishes have generous portion. Chicken and waffle is so delicious. Waffle is light and crispy and the chicken is very tender. Another favorite item is the egg benedict. They offer daily special benedict every day. My boyfriend Also loves the burger here. The beef patty is cooked to perfection and full of juice. Dinners are always tasty too. Bone marrow is our go-to appetizer. And for the entrees, I love the scallop! Also like the lobster pasta. The restaurant has a nice view and sometimes we're lucky to get the seat by the window. They open outdoor seats at summer times too. Had a girls' dinner here and despite being seated outside initially, the server and manager quickly accommodated our request to move inside due to the weather. Service was quick and attentive on a busy Saturday night. The dinner was amazing and our server Zahanna made the experience truly memorable. My husband and I stayed at Edgewood Tahoe as an end of Summer celebration. There are a few restaurants located on the massive property but The Bistro is located inside the resort and was most convenient for us. It also has an upscale ambiance and bar. Even while we visited during the COVID-19 pandemic they still allowed seating indoor and had signs for social distancing and mask wearing. The tables seemed to be adjusted as well. The Bistro offers breakfast daily (brunch menu on weekends), lunch, and dinner. We enjoyed breakfast each morning during our stay and it was my favorite meal here. The portions are large, I could never finish, but the options were wonderful and cooked very well. For dinner we had an array of dishes amongst out stay like their flat bread pizzas like the fig and prosciutto and the pepperoni and aged cheese (my advice is to skip this one. We ordered it to go with a salad and it took 45 mins for what looked like a microwaved pepperoni pizza with no flavor). We also tried the hummus appetizer with grilled flat bread, which was great! And I had their salmon dish on our last night of our stay. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was the perfect finish to a wonderful weekend away. The views from this restaurant are amazing as well! You see the pool but also the pines and lake just beyond it. Service was wonderful as well. All the staff wore masks and were very attentive and helpful. The bar was interesting, only because I'd never had to sit down first before placing my order, even for a pressed juice at 10am. But this was also our first time staying someplace over the Nevada border where licensing and regulations were different than that of California. read more

We stayed at the Edgewood Resort and ate almost every meal at The Bistro. Everything we've eaten from breakfast to dessert was superb. The service was excellent and the ambiance was beautiful with the sunset view through the floor to ceiling length mirrors. Best food I've had in Lake Tahoe. read more

The Edgewood is such a beautiful resort, so I'm glad we stopped by for dinner at Bistro. On a Saturday, I had called to make a reservation despite Open Table showing no available tables until 9PM. We were lucky enough to get a table on their patio for 7PM, and while it was a little chilly, the ambiance was great. I'd recommend asking for a table under the heaters. Here's what we got: - Braised Oxtail & Risotto: What a lovely dish to kick off dinner. The oxtail was tender, and there was the perfect amount of cheese. The only downside was the rice, which was a little bit underdone. - Chilean Seabass: This dish is poached with some broth. Unfortunately, the fish tasted really off to the both of us. To me, it was almost like ammonia with a strange astringent taste to the fish. I thought it was the broth, but after trying that and other ingredients alone, it was the fish after all. Thankfully, neither of us ended up getting sick by the end of the night, but I regret getting this. We'll likely return because the ambiance is just so lovely, but we'll likely order a steak next time. read more

Exactly as hoped: a very nice setting, excellent service, and very good food. It's expensive, so be prepared for that. (Dinner for two + a couple of drinks + dessert + tip = about $200). But if you're looking for a nice place, this fits the bill nicely. It doesn't seem walk-able from parking outside the Edgewood area, so you'll need to go through the gate and then have valet parking. Our valet put the car literally 30 feet from the door, so that felt a bit weird. But, hey, they need to make a living, too. read more

Excellent service! Our bartender Bart was knowledgeable, funny and had some great tips for wine and whiskey to get our night started. Jake was always attentive during our dinner and kept the mood classy, yet lively and fun. Brandon knew the menu inside and out and I am so glad that we got the cowboy dry aged ribeye. It is definitely a dish to share and so worth the price. The nutty and meaty dry age flavor is preserved and our steak was seared to perfection with a medium rare center. The accompanying side of lobster Mac and cheese was Devine and bursting with umami. There were also large chunks of lobster! For desert, I cannot remember the name but I attached a picture. it had vanilla ice cream on one side that tasted home made. On the other there was this chocolate dirt cake with moose in the middle. We had looked forward to coming to this place for months, but we will never get those months back. Disclaimer: We were only here for brunch. Service: 5/10 Sloooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwest service. 1). Once we sat down, we didn't have anyone come to our table for approximately 15 minutes. 2). The food took forever to come to our table and when we needed a refill for coffee, the service was non-existent. 3). Even the bill took forever to get. I remember Food: 7/10 Decent food, but honestly, I've had better overall food at IHOP. The pancakes had no flavor and the portions were smaller than expected. Incredible food and service! I had one of the best meals I've eaten here. Luckily I was able to experience this meal with 8 people, which meant trying many items from the menu. These are items I personally tried: Appetizers: Mussels - Everyone at the table who likes seafood loved them. Fries with curds - the cheese was lightly breaded and fried. The sauces were both amazing! Salads: Caesar - authentic Blue cheese, pancetta and apple with poppy seed dressing - my favorite of the two salads. Meals: Braised Short Ribs - incredibly tender with an explosion of flavor. The carrots were cooked well and the polenta tasted like mashed potatoes. It was rich and decadent. Ahí seared tuna (the special that night) - It tasted like chicken. It was prepared very well. Desserts: Creme brûlée - crunchy on top and creamy in the middle Carrot cake - my favorite! Last year I went to the Edgewood restaurant where I had the best steak I've ever had. I wasn't sure what to expect of this place but it was still a very nice restaurant. I tried the tomato risotto which the waitress said was fairly new and was curious what I thought of it. I love me a good risotto due to its creamy texture but this dish had an overbearing tomato flavor and lacked that rich creaminess that I love of risotto. I'd give it a2 out of 5 stars. I've had way better risottos from hello fresh that I have to make. The waitress suggested the apple pie for dessert. It was good and I really liked the crispy pieces but I wouldn't call it an apple pie. More like an apple cake with apples inside. I'd for sure come back and try something else;you can't beat the great view of the lake. read more

The view is the best thing about dining at Edgewood. We had reservations and had requested a window table. We waited about 20 minutes past our reservation time as they were preparing the "window table". We were seated at a table next to the window but the shade was pulled down due to the glare from the sun. When the shade was eventually raised, seated immediately on the other side of the window was a table of six. This was our view! In addition the food was adequate but small portions and overpriced. $21 for a glass of wine that was not outstanding. Disappointed with this visit to Edgewood. Beware that a window does not guarantee a view of anything but other diners. read more

I can't find it in my heart to give this place anything lower than 3 stars. Our server mentioned how understaffed in the kitchen was, but for such a fancy establishment there are certain expectations that have to be meet, and the Lobster Tagliatelle missed the bar entirely. Horribly overcooked lobster that resembled rubber paired with an overwhelming tomato flavor made the dish almost inedible. The hamachi was incredibly stingy for the price, having only 4 slices of fish for $25. One of our party members didnt recieve their drink until we were almost finished with our main dishes. Luckily the other dishes were great. The filet mignon was perfect, and the scallops & prawns were delicious. Would return, but I'd wait until they can find more staff since it doesn't seem like it's a common problem. read more

The service was impeccable! So as the ambience and view. However the food is way over priced, not the best quality, and small portions. The kids burger ($24) was rare when we were told they cook them medium well. The lobster tail was chewy with a heavy fish smell. The ahi was just ok. Lobster bisque was good, the Caesar salad was nothing special. The risotto was good but again very small portions. Great wine list. Again the service was awesome the food not so much. Next time I will just go for drinks. Hopefully they can get it together! read more

One of my favorite brunch spots/ places to hangout in Lake Tahoe. The service even through a pandemic was phenomenal and the view is amazing. We had a 815 reservation The snooty hostesses including the male host were rude. She said that their will be a wait. We understood informed her we would be in the bar. She said she will call us, confirm my number ; No call to let us know table was read and she knew we were in the bar and she did not come looking for us. The reason for this rating is strictly due to the service my friends and I received when we came to Bistro at Edgewood. We were greeted pretty quickly when we walked into the restaurant, and we were sat immediately. From there everything took a turn for the worse. The waitress came and asked if we would like to order some drinks; which we did, and after about 20 minuets I asked the waitress if we were ever going to get our drinks? She stated that the bartender just got there... mind you that it's 9:50A.M. At this point and the bartender is the one who greeted us when we first walked in! We then ordered our food which was brought out at a normal pace except my dish. My friend and I ordered the same thing(avocado toast, with a poached egg, and hollandaise sauce) my friend got hers, and I had to wait an additional 25 minuets to get mine. My friends were all finished with their food by the time my plate arrived; which was not brought over by our server. There were no apologies and nothing said about my breakfast coming out so late, or the bad service all together. You expect quality service when you come to an establishment like this. There was no reason for the service being so slow! There were very few people in the restaurant, and now I know the reason why. I will never come back to Bistro at Edgewood. This is my go to place when we have visitors but we went in early January and it was not good. We had a 7:30 reservation and we had to wait 20 mins for a table. No problem, things happen, but by the time we got seated we were starving. We had to ask for bread and they brought us one small roll for each person at the table. The service was excellent. But I ordered the lobster tagliatelle and it was flavorless. I've had it before and this was just terrible. The server told us this cook has had complaints before. They took it off of the bill but the whole experience was just meh. It was loud and our table was so big we couldn't even talk. I hope things improve because we love the Bistro! read more

They were apologetic and returned it to the kitchen and we waited... and waited.. and waited.. when everyone else was finished eating we were served a raw burger. The grilled salmon was considered "The best salmon I've ever had" according to my father in-law. I probably had the best Old Fashioned (Bistro Old Fashioned) and the desert was just right. We had the Apple Crumble and the Creme Brûlée. BUT!!!! My son is a very picky eater, so we ordered him a hamburger plain. Like nothing on it at all. Just meat and bun. Extremely disappointing dining experience at the bistro. Service was somewhat slow, and forgetful - but thats understandable considering the general availability of staff today. The food was embarrassing, though. The burrito at the table came without any sausage, and the burger, ordered medium rare, was delivered charred to an over-well hockey puck with multiple elements missing. The burger was bad enough we returned it to the kitchen (an unheard of event in my family), but it returned still somewhat overdone, still with other multiple elements (aoli, bacon jam) missing. I started eating the burger after everyone else at the table had already finished their plates. When I got the bill, there was no correction at all for the error. No apologies for the errors or delay, no conversation about making it right. Honestly shocked with this experience at Edgewood. Won't be coming back. read more

I came here with family for lunch. The hotel this restaurant is located in was absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. Our host was sweet and kind to her guests. My Dad told her we were here for my post heart transplant and that I would of never been able to travel up here pre transplant. We were seated right away inside and in the middle of the restaurant The chairs here were super comfy and had good back support. Service here was wonderful. Our waiter was quick and precise. I just ordered the Napoletana pizza with a Dr. Pepper to drink. The Napoletana pizza is basically just a Margarita pizza with tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella cheese and basil. While waiting for out food some of us went outside to check out the patio. It was warm out and the sun was high in the sky. We sat near a long fire place in the sun. We could see the hotel pool and Lake Tahoe from where we sat. It was quite a posh place. We watched the huge geese walk around lakeside on the grounds of the hotel. When our food was just about ready, Chris, our waiter let us know to come back inside. We were all served at the same time. I was a bit weary about my pizza. I normally don't like the flatbread type of pizzas and it was served in that kind of shape. This one actually turned out to be really appetizing. I loved the crust. It was thin, crunchy and surprisingly flavorful. It tasted smokey and slightly salty. The tomato sauce was a little on the sweet side, but it wasn't very acidic so that was good. The cheese was salty, melty and the second favorite part of my pizza (first was the crust). The basil wasn't as strong and basily as I would of liked, but it was pretty good. It was more leafy than herby. Overall I did love my pizza. I shared a few pieces with my family and in the end we devoured the whole thing. Our host surprised us and gave us a decadent dessert. It was a shockingly light double chocolate mouse with chocolate cookie crumbs and vanilla ice cream. We asked our host which kind of chocolate was in our dessert and she said it was Valrhona chocolate, which is the best of the best. We had such a great lunch here. While I wouldn't go out of the way to dine here, the restaurant had a few winning dishes and was a beautiful and convenient option if you are staying at the resort. The service was also very welcoming. Food and Value: In terms of both value and taste, the menu at the Bistro was a little hit and miss. The fries and fried cheese curds were absolutely amazing - they were very filling (honestly enough to feed four people), but I had trouble stopping myself from eating them because they were so crispy and flavorful! The salad, on the other hand, was tasty but comically small: perhaps a third of a pear, a few leaves of frisee, and some pistachios and pomegranates (kudos for pre-splitting the salad to make two well-presented plates, though). The confusing part was that these two dishes were priced exactly the same even though one would feed a sports team while the other wouldn't satisfy a small child. The curry dish had lots of vegetables, but it was a bit on the bland side, and the apple dessert had a great crust but was overly sweet and gooey for my taste. Location and View: The setting at Edgewood Tahoe is second to none: the property is right on the lake with walking paths outside. I would strongly recommend dining at the bistro *after* sunset in the winter - the beautiful sunset over Lake Tahoe is better enjoyed from the beach or the S'mores fire pit outside the hotel; the views from the windows of the restaurant inside are somewhat obscured. Service: The staff were all very kind and eager to serve - we felt well looked after every moment from check in to check out. Reservations: We stayed at Edgewood over the MLK long weekend in January (and we were actually able to get a room and restaurant reservation fairly last minute - on Wednesday for a Saturday evening). The restaurant was very busy right around 6:30PM, but had plenty of space before and after, so if you need to make a last minute reservation, consider coming early or late. read more
