Nice gals, mediocre food; pancakes were good, but hash browns left on grill waaaay too long and no amount of sausage gravy was going to make them good again. As the others, they wouldn't accept the Yelp coupon. I told the gal that people are talking about that and eventually ew people would never come. Told her it's real easy for the owner to go on and remove the deal. She said she was going to call owner John right away. She felt bad and obviously who wants to work at a place where your customers always have a reason to gripe? Especially when it could be fixed easily by accepting it or taking it down. I needed food anyway so I was going whether they were gonna take it or not. However, food wasn't good enough to to go back to on my next trip to GB. read more

I get food to go regularly and haven't had any issue with that however the numerous times I've eaten inside have been awful. I understand that working a late night crowd can be exhausting in general but that is the job you applied and got hired for. Waiting 10 minutes to be menu-d and greeted is unacceptable. A smile and "I'll be right with you" can go a long way. It's obvious that some of your employees hate their job - and that shouldn't be something customers can see. It might be a good idea to have another server or two scheduled at night so employee attitudes aren't so terrible. read more

Stopped in because I was looking for some breakfast and saw a busy parking lot. I love the unknown busy hole-in-the-wall places. I got French toast and bacon. Not worth the stop. French toast was extremely tasteless. Didn't know it could be. And the bacon verged on burnt. Crisp enough that it crumbled when I simply picked it up. read more

What a lovely morning. After circling downtown Green Bay for what seemed like forever we finally found Blackstone. It has been rumored to be one of the most historical and traditional mid western eateries out this way. In true diner fashion there was a bar full of regulars. These folks casually placing request off menu, but amiably served. There was laughter and banter amongst them. We instantly felt at home.. The place is is packed with the young and not so young at heart. It is filled with regulars, immigrants and as well as youth visiting from Italy. All are welcome here. And served with honor and humanity. The waitstaff was diligent, attentive, patient and kind. In my opinion every patron was well respected and well tended to. For myself I had the liver and onions. The portion was generous especially since I ordered off of the senior menu. It was hot and tender. Just pink in the middle. It was lovely as any beef liver should be. The mashed potatoes and gravy were supple with meaty chunks which added to its authenticity. For the money ambience and service, I will be back. read more

Thanks to Yelp we found this great greasy spoon style eatery. We went for a late breakfast and we were extremely satisfied with the food and service. One of the perfect touches is when the waitress brings out canisters of coffee without having to ask. There were 10 of us and everyone enjoyed the food. The food is great and so are the prices but god damn, is the service pathetic sometimes. First time I came here three weeks ago, there was a single waitress in the whole place and two other customers. She greeted me with the enthusiasm of a tranquilized vegetable and didn't bring me out my milkshake I ordered with my meal. I alerted this to her immediately, no other customers to tend to or anything, took her FIFTEEN MINUTES to hobble her lazy ass and drag her legs over to the ice cream counter to make me the damn thing and I didn't get it until I was finished with my meal. Literally standing around not doing a damn thing other than chatting with a guy who was sitting near the counter. Good God. Second time I came the server was better, she was 70 years old but yet was spinning circles around this previous server but unfortunately they did mess up my order again, probably the kitchen's fault this time, and they gave me bone in wings instead of bone out. Thankfully the waitress took the wings off of my bill without me having to raise a fuss about it but even so, still got no wings with my meal. The food is so great but it's hard for me to want to come here too often after constant mistakes and fear of having to be "served" by the first waitress. read more

Worst experience at a restaurant we ever had! We sat in a corner booth for 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement. We moved to the counter and waited yet another 10 minutes to be waited on. The waitresses all had painful expressions on their faces. We ordered our food and waited some more! Once we got our food, my husband told me his omelette tasted processed and that I could make a better one. My burger and fries were just average! Nothing shouted out to me that I would return! Dirty tables, a foul pungent smell lingered in the air, and unfriendly waitstaff... I heard through the grapevine this place was nothing to write home about and I wanted to see if my friends were right! They hit the nail on the head! I will never return! This is one of those places me and my girlfriend go to when we want good, fast, inexpensive food with great service. The servers are completely amazing, and have come to recognize us whenever we visit. Even though it's typically only once a month, we always get a 'Hi sweeties, how ya doin'?' and they NEVER charge us both for our sodas. Only one is ever on the bill. They always get our orders right, even though I'm that pain in the ass person who asks for 'no onions, cheddar instead of American cheese, toast with no butter in the side'. And how can you beat the price. Less than $24 for two filling meals, two drinks, with tip included! I typically get breakfast there, because I love their skillets, but their lunch/dinner food is delicious, too. If you're looking for super unique, out-of-the-box food, however, you probably won't find it here. You've got all the staple diner foods, and they're all done right. BEWARE weekend evenings, though! Usually we go to the east side location and never had a bad experience. Today I went to the west side location, sat down at 610am, waitress brought beverages and took order immediately. 30 minutes later I noticed everyone who walked in after me was either eating or paying their bill. I asked a waitress if there was a problem with my order. She told me she was on break now and someone will get to me. I sat another 10 minutes then left a few dollars for my coffee and left.
