The service and the Ambiance was very nice. I had the smoke chicken wings with the hot sauce and barbecue sauce and they were very good. We always enjoyed this restaurant and now it's under new management, and it's still very good. When we placed our order for takeout, the person who took our order could not have been nicer. My husband enjoyed the pulled pork especially with the BBQ sauce. My son had been craving ribs, and he absolutely loved them. If you don't eat meat (like me), then the options are slim. We ordered a number of sides: cornbread was not a winner, but the mashed potatoes and gravy were definitely a hit. We come down to Wellfleet at least a couple times a year, and we'll eat here again next time. read more

This was hands down the worst bbq I have ever had. It tasted like it was doused in salt and pepper, and that's it. Then they give you a tiny condiment cup of very average bbq sauce. The ribs were awful and the pork was just salty and peppery. Never eating here again. read more

I vacationed in Truro last week and saw Block & Tackle as I drove by. Stopped by several days later for BBQ takeout. I ordered the 2 meat combo platter with: ribs, pulled pork, slaw and collards. I'm a fan of Eastern NC style vinegar sauce for pork and it was delicious. Nice smoke ring on the pulled pork, ribs were just right and the collards were some of the best I've ever had. I recently returned from an assignment in Birmingham, AL where I got a master class in 'Q. Run, don't walk to go get some of this bodacious BBQ. We were worried. Been going to Russ and Maries for barbecue since they opened. We loved them. But Block & Tackle is GOOOOOOOD! The chicken is so yummy. the pulled pork too. The ribs too. Anyone that writes a great review of this place was ether stoned or drunk. I am a seasoned BBQ person and this was absolutely the worse. They must have a salt pit behind the place. The WORST restaurant I've ever been to. This is seriously the worst meal I have ever had. The beans were undercooked, the ribs were incorrectly butchered (unneeded parallel bones), there were a ton of tendons in the pulled pork and chicken and WAY too salty. The Mac and cheese was cold and disgusting, the mashed potatoes were glutinous/gluey, and the potato chips were literally the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. we were quite disappointed in the pulled pork - lots of fat came with the meat, and the pulled chicken was chunk pieces and there was a bone and cartilage in mine. yuck. neither meat was shredded. there were 3 barbeque sauces and you only get one with your selection. you pay an addition dollar for a small amount of another sauce. most places offer it freely and may even have it in bottles on the table. use what you want. staff and service were very good. the quality of the meats needs improvement. the sides were fine. the meat has to be perfect. it is the centerpiece of a barbeque menu we used to come here every year when we come to the cape. it's unlikely we'll return. read more

We've gotten take out from here a few times and dined out in their patio and every time it has been AMAZING! We impish this was closer to our room as it would be in our regular rotation! The Pitmaster Platter has fed 3 adults and two small kids with enough leftovers for lunch for ~2-3 the next day! My husband and I stopped in on our way to Ptown as it was too early to check in and we were starving. We saw a big sign outside that said Beer and I smelled the smoker and we said "this will do!". Window takeout service, but the best beer and cider menu, and amazing food. I had the Bad Seed dry cider and hubs had the Cloud Candy (he was so happy they had it). The cide was crisp and tart, perfect for a hot day. I had the buttermilk chicken (2 big pieces) and potato salad and cole slaw, my husband had the sausage sandwich special. Both were excellent. The chicken was crispy and moist, perfectly seasoned. I was dying to have some fried chicken and this fit the bill. The staff is super friendly, everyone stopped by to check in, including the owner. Their food was off the hook good. Drove out to the end of Cape cod only to be surprised that it was soooo packed with people. Not really, but overwhelmed with the crowds. Decided to end back hungry and found Block and Tackle. What a Gem of a find. Workers and owners were very nice and inviting. The food was outstanding. My lady had two pieces of fried chicken. Chicken extremely crispy and flavorful on the outside and juicy inside. She only ate one as they gave her two huge breat pieces. Was not expecting that. Homemade pickles were awesome. This evening, we visited the relatively new Block and Tackle for the first time. It was a wonderful dining experience and we look forward to returning. We are still in "take-out only", so we placed our order online, and were very pleased that we were given a pick up time of only 20 minutes later. That's on a busy Cape Cod August Sunday night at peak dinner time. We arrived and our order was ready, so we took it with us and went to a nearby beach to enjoy the food and the view of the Bay. The beer can chicken and pulled pork were delicious. Moist, smoky, and bountiful portions. The mac and cheese was delicious, as were the "porky collards". The sausage was great.... mild but very flavorful. The mild Lieutenants sauce was perfect. The regular has a bit of a kick, but very palatable. For me, it was the banana pudding for dessert that was most irresistible. Delicious detour to my southern upbringing! They have many beers from which to choose. The grapefruit beer was memorable and the perfect taste of summer. It'll now be my favorite new beer. Kudos to the hardworking and very committed owners and staff of The Block and Tackle!
