Surprisingly good food at a small local divey-ish bar. The dirty martini came with a delicious bacon wrapped blue cheese olive...a win in my book. Great selection of beers from Utah and out of state, and solid live music to top it off. The brisket burnt ends (side order) was some of the best I've had and both the prime rib and brisket sandwiches were delicious and paired well with the hotter of two house BBQ sauces. More than a half dozen sides to choose from too. Will say full dinner prices (meats & two sides) were a bit higher...but we didn't get that far! Good flavor. But missing the mark. Me and my boyfriend ordered the ultimate brisket sandwich. Our sandwiches didn't even match. Would recommend more sauce, or ask for extra. Definitely get enough food for your money though. I just overall felt like it was missing something. Service was ok. At the end of the meal we had 2 empty drinks a piece in front of us, our 2 dishes and the appetizer still. Wish the table would have been cleared as we consumed the items. read more

Our first trip to Moab and first experience with BluPig. Service is average at best as is the food. Being meat lovers and quite the carnivores, we've eaten a lot of BBQ and quite certain we know good brisket and sausage... however, this place does not make the list for either. Brisket isn't flavorful and sausage was just okay (as in edible). Jalapeños were tasty... enjoyed them. Fried okra was obviously frozen pre-battered pieces... not edible. Side salad was crisp and fresh...by far best part of the entire dining experience. The pulled pork bbq is on par with the best I've ever had!!! And yes, I've had a lot. Nothing I can complain about. Nothing!! We also had the tri-tip beef which was tender and cooked just right. Round 2 At The Pig Was As Good As The First! We ordered the 3 meat combo with 2 sides to share. I would say at $21.95 it is a bit high priced and could be psychologically priced at $19.95 and that would be alright... Beef brisket was really good! 4.5 out of 5 stars! Good flavor! Smoked turkey was good. Cajun sausage was 3 out of 5 so not bad, not amazing. Gumbo was really good and wonderfully seasoned and full of flavor! Sweet potato fries were good, I wish there were a few more... I wanted to keep eating. Melana was our server and she was nice. The only negative was the sweet tea... It just wasn't good and I like tea and am not picky about it... It had a weird taste that Donna and I both agreed made it nondrinkable. The atmosphere was cool and clean. The service is so bad it would piss off a Nun. Our intended waitress was named Treill or Trell or Triell. We honestly didn't see her enough to catch the name. There were 9 (nine) customers including our party of 4 for TWO waitresses to serve. Took forever to get seated. When asking for our drink order my husband said "three unsweet teas and a Dr Pepper". She says "did you say sweet?....." Honest mistake, right? Uh no. She literally had to question every order. Example: ordered pulled pork dinner with the 2 sides to be fried okra and salad without tomatoes or onions. She explained to us that they don't put tomatoes and onions on their pulled pork. Our food was great! It's the only reason I gave any stars. After she brought our food we never saw her again until we flagged down the other waitress to get our ticket. We sat for quite a while with empty tea glasses after we were all finished eating just waiting for a ticket. I walked up to the front to see if I could get a ticket so we could leave with no luck. Then I actually called the restaurant to see if I could get help that way. No answer. I hate for one bad employee to cause a bad review for a business but they should make sure they have capable people in place to represent their business. Oh and the card machine won't let you check out if you put zero for a tip. We had to put "cash tip" for it to go through. That's some shady BS. After a very long day exploring Arches National Park, what better meal to enjoy than some good ol' BBQ? I was a little worried about the quality after reading reviews on Yelp, but I'm very glad I gave The Blu Pig a chance. I'm usually not a fan of the bread baskets etc. to begin the meal, but the cornbread muffins were really some of the best I've had. They were even nice enough to give us a bunch AFTER our meal to take home! My friend and I split a full rack of baby back ribs with 2 sides (Okra and Hasbrown Casserole). To be honest, I can't really speak to how good the sides were because we were overwhlemed by the enomity of the ribs. They were absolutely delicious. They have three types of sauces on the table, I forget what the others were, but I am biased towards the spicy one. Mediocre-to-awful food. Like most weary travelers in Moab, my family and I had thousand-yard-stares and desperately wanted something substantial to eat after a long day of hiking. This place seemed to fit the bill. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with almost all 9 items that we got... except for the corn muffins w/cinnamon butter. Those were heavenly! The meats (brisket, pulled pork, hot links, and wings) weren't up to par with an average BBQ place's in terms of flavor. I thought the brisket's lack of flavor would benefit from adding one of their three table-side sauces but... no. Those weren't good either. I don't remember what one of the sauces was called, but it was incredibly vinegar-y and off-putting. The sides were worse than the meats. The baked beans tasted more like simmered-for-5-minutes beans; they were hard and the sauce they were in was watery. The gumbo was horrifically bad. It honestly tasted like someone spilled a carton of pepper into the pot. Did a cook accidentally have a few too many from the bar...? In terms of service, it was good! Stopped in here for the evening after a long drive on 11-20-15 before heading to Arches National Park the next day. Had the Burnt Ends, with red beans and rice and hash brown casserole for $17.95. The burnt ends could have more flavor and bark. The different sauces were good. The red beans and rice lacked flavor and we're a little watered down. The hash brown casserole was good. Pretty good bbq dishes in the area. Fresh meat and well seasoned. Somehow I remember most their bbq sauce - sweet and smoky. My kids enjoyed their mac and cheese and chicken tenders with yummy fries. Service was SOOOOO slow. We tried to go to some other restaurants first but everything was closed. We finally saw this place open and just went for it hoping to eat quick and get back on the road. This is seriously how it went. Took about 10 minutes to get sat (pretty much empty inside) the waiter came to the table 10 minutes later and got drinks. I asked for fried okra as an appetizer as we wait for our food. Ten more minutes later he comes with the okra and says "I didn't bring your drinks?l lol, nor had he even taken our order yet... So then we waited about 10 more minutes for him to come back to take our order. The food came out by another server and took only took about 10 minutes. Thank goodness another server brought it out! We could have waited triple that time if our server had brought it The server came back at the end of the meal and asked how it was. I said I hated it and my food was cold. He offered to fix it but we needed to get on the road. We didn't have another hour. Still got charged for the food I hated. I'm not one to ask for it to come off. It's an extremely clean place, with fantastic barbecue. We had brisket and ribs tips that were outstanding. Just came into town and I was starving. I saw good reviews for The Blu Pig, I'm a sucker for Smoked Brisket, Ribs and Wings. I ordered all 3. The burnt ends tasted like pot roast... there is no way they smoke the brisket- it tasted like they baked it in the oven or crockpot. The brisket gets a 1/5. The ribs... they did fall off the bone so they were a little to overcooked for me. I like a good amount of Smoke when I eat BBQ and these ribs didn't have any. Ribs get a 2.5/5. The wing were the best and that's not saying much. I had them tossed in a garlic buffalo sauce that was good, the wings were the only item that tasted like it was smoked. Wings get a 3/5. I tried 4 different sides, beans, okra, pot salad and hushpups... only the beans were edible. If you are use to good BBQ in the South.... this is not the place for you. read more

It took a bit longer than we expected and the portion sizes were small considering the prices. The meats were OK but the pulled pork sandwich was missing about half the needed pork. The meat is served dry rubbed and the sauces are on the table and there are 3 types: a mustard base, a spicy, and "original". All 3 were sweeter than we expected.
