After a PHENOMENAL first visit, we can back again. While waiting for my family to meet and watching a World Cup game at their sister restaurant, the owner Louie and I chatted for a while. I couldn't imagine how my second visit could be even better than the first but Louie made it happen! We talked about the history of the restaurant, offered me a tour of the bar, and let me know about all the various events and amenities he offers. The charcuterie board is great for kids and they also love the popcorn shrimp. We split the daily fish (swordfish) and the empanadas. The flan for the adults and the dole whip for the kids was the perfect way to cap off an excellent meal. This is such a charming, upscale dining experience with local ownership. Please visit!

I recommend this place if not for the service alone! Ivana the hostess was amazing and quickly helped me with deciding on what to order. I like the fact that on the other side is a guarded where they have pizza and dull whip, so I was able to indulge in both types of cuisines! I ordered the coconut shrimp which was delicious featured in my pictures.

I always love coming to The Boardroom! We come here every couple of months for a date night, and it never disappoints. The steak is amazing, and honestly, it's really affordable for the quality and experience you get. We always order the charcuterie board too it's a MUST HAVE! Definitely one of our favorite spots.

I enjoyed the atmosphere, pizza was decent but staff was great. Wine Thursday is the highlight! Definitely gonna be a regular spot for me.

I stared with a Midnight Mezcalito drink, it was ok thought it was gonna be more smokey since they Infused the drink with smoke. Then ordered the trio empanadas(3ea) wild mushrooms medley, venison meat and herb white cheddar, they're amazing: great flavor and combination of flavors. We also ordered the piononos they were good, great mix of classic puerto rican appetizer.then we proceeded to order a dozen of their oysters and there were really fresh and light. For our main course we had the paella, flavorful with a Latino kick to it, we're told the Chef is from Puerto Rico and adds a little flavor to all plates. Very fresh and perfectly cooked rice. For desert we had the coconut cream brûlée; creamy and delicious but was missing consistency. Overall the food was great, drinks could use a little bit more punch. Service was amazing, attentive to our questions. $$$

Located on the corner of Kainehe and Kihapai Street. May the parking gods be in your favor. Happy Hour is available from 5p-6p, Wednesday through Sunday. When you arrive here, head to the host stand that is located outside on the outskirts of where the turf grass meets the pavement. Ample open air seating outside, though the day that we went it was warm, and we opted to eat inside by the bar. We made reservations online beforehand just in case. When we were seated inside, there's a few seats at the bar, and also bench/2-top seating on the opposite wall. We were a party of 3, though we were seated next to each other, the gap was rather large, so we physically pushed our tables together. Low cocktail round tables (thus the spacing of the dishes/drinks was a bit awkward later on in the evening). The bartender came by to take our drinks but also asked us if we had reservations, because the area that we were seated in was reserved for another party at a later time. We thought this was strange, because the host up front was the one who confirmed our reservation and sat us in that very spot. Shortly after, the bartender then came back to say that it was ok for us to stay there and then proceeded to take our order. After that occurrence, the service didn't necessarily get exponentially better, but it also wasn't absolutely horrible. **NOTED UPDATE: We were at this establishment in June 2025, these pictures were not taken from 3 years ago. I have nothing to gain by 'lying'** As for the food and drinks, they were much better than we had expected which saved the whole experience of it all. The food menu is short and sweet, to which we enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered. All in all, we had a good time.

That's the coconut shrimp platter so manage your expectations on the portions for the price

Great ambiance with friendly staff in a cool location for people watching and enjoying drinks. I had three different people come help throughout my visit but my server was new and he didn't really tend to us. Bar tender was cool and checked up on us and I'd ask waitress for napkins and refills so they covered down on the rook. The food was okay but it was overpriced considering the small portions. I will say that the main purpose of this place is to drink and the drinks were on point. Next time I come it'll be to day drink after already eating because I like the scene and the outdoor atmosphere would be great to talk and sip

Ahh... the Boardroom. Very cool branding and outdoorsy enough to suite casual dining patrons. It's not ritzy so don't take your bougie friends. It's very laid back with dark woods and perfect lighting so take your eclectic friends. This place is in Kailua on a side street and has the neat boho string lights. A shop owner let me know parking is not enforced after 5. We got a decent spot adjacent to the entry. Parking is always going to be a choke point for my dining experience. Now.... Free parking that's not too hard to navigate and not too busy? That's always a win for me. I made a reservation on the "Resy" application to make sure the birthday plans I created in my mind weren't foiled. I originally wanted to go to The Gaslamp, until I saw this place. I was thinking about bringing my children, but I'm glad I didn't. This place is mysterious and romantic. They seemed to have some Halloween decorations strewn about. I get it, but the natural vibe was spooky enough (in a good way). Whoever put together the aesthetics did their job. I wanted there to be music, so I figured pacing our meal was the right move. Though there was no live music while we were there, there was a decent playlist on. Our waiters were pleasant but the establishment seemed a little short staffed. Im glad we caught them at 530ish when we did. Hosting (from the receptionist to the waiters- we had 2, kinda) wasn't super intimate or personable, but certainly the norm for restaurant hospitality on the island. We ordered a Salad, Vinson Empanadas, and the Ribeye. From the reviews and website, we expected there to be live music around 6, but I guess we would've needed to show a little later for that. We left around 7 and the band was just setting up and going through sound check. The food may not wow you, but its enough not to negatively alter the collective vibe. My overall experience was over marginal and my date said the food was a 10/10. Id like to go back some time when it's later in the night. I'll bet its perfect with live music.

I swear, Kailua is soooo lucky to have this craft cocktail spot!!! Aannnndddd, they have killer food also... aww come on! This is where I go when I have a very unique and special crafted concoction in mind. OR when I'm cravinh the MOST bad @$$ drink on island! I also love to be educated and turned on to new creative drinks or/also enjoy a twist on a classic cocktail. This spot is hidden behind the Garden, and has the perfect aesthetic... I never hit this spot without ordering the oven roasted bone marrow and oysters on the half shell! Hella love to Jarel and Michael blowing my mind at this spot!

Amazing experience at The Boardroom in Kailua. The food was absolutely incredible and you can tell the chefs really care about what they're putting out. Huge shoutout to Chef Shannan and the rest of the team -- everything we had was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was also top notch. Super friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I'd 100% recommend this spot to anyone in the area. Definitely coming back!

Had a wonderful experience here! The food was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in. Service was quick without feeling rushed, and the atmosphere was clean, cozy, and inviting. Everything we ordered exceeded expectations. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back! Everything was spectacular We really enjoyed it especially the manager And Our server, they were sooo sweet and hardworking!

    Roasted pepper bruschetta

We went to The Boardroom in Kailua for Valentine's Day and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt warm, intimate, and special -- exactly what you want for a date night. We started with the roasted pepper bruschetta and it was unbelievably fresh and flavorful. Every bite tasted bright and perfectly balanced. Then we had the panionos, which were insanely good and packed with flavor. For our main, we shared the ribeye with chimichurri and wow -- it was cooked to perfection, juicy, and the chimichurri added the perfect herby kick. And dessert... the empanadas with vanilla Dole Whip were next level. Warm, crispy empanadas with cold, creamy Dole Whip was such a genius combo and honestly one of the best desserts we've had in a long time. Everything from the food to the atmosphere made our Valentine's dinner feel truly special. We'll definitely be back

    Any vegetarian/vegan options?

I'm sorry, but I don't remember seeing those options. I'm sure that they could accommodate in someway as most restaurants do nowadays especially in Kailua.

Absolutely blown away…read more This place was recommended to my partner and I by multiple people so we put in the reservation. Upon arrival, we were asked for a password (which he could not find in his emails hot fortunately they gave us grace lol) then let in. The place was simply lit and each table had a literal gas lamp lighting the space. On the second floor there was a man playing the sax. It was SO gorgeous, Our waitress was great, we were easily influenced by all her suggestions and ended up getting a great meal. We started with drinks. My partner didn't hear her say that the bottom of the menu was "spirit forward" and ordered a VERY strong drink. It actually made for a very giggly and eventful dinner so it was a very happy mistake lol. I got the espresso martini. It was a little creamier than I expected but still tasted really good! I'd order again. Our first appetizer was the Wagyu carpaccio- topped with cilantro (the menu said dill but I saw/ tasted none), fried capers, and caviar. It was surprisingly light and refreshing, basically a meat salad. A beautiful start to our meal. Our second (yes, second) appetizer was the escargot and bone marrow. This was our personal star of the show. A complete 180 to the carpaccio. This was rich, heavy, and decadent. The tomato added a nice balance of acidity to counteract the fatty bone marrow. The escargot was cooked perfectly, no chew but soft and buttery. One of the best bites of my life. The salad it came with was just we needed with it. After this, there was quite a wait until our main entree. A fire dancer came, and danced on the bar counter. I'd say we waited a good 20 minutes until it came out. But we were only impatient because we had plans after dinner. Our main course, which we shared, was the King Arthur- beef Wellington with a side of crab legs. The crab did come out during our appetizers which I appreciated. I only ordered this because I never had beef Wellington before and really wanted to try it LOL, my partner said it was better than the one at hella kitchen! The waitress also talked us into ordering a side of Mac and cheese, and thank GOD she did. It came out piping hot and saucy. There was a slight note of truffle, but it wasn't overpowering, and a nice crust of cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. You definitely get a bang for your buck. It's a hefty buck but it's so worth it.

Live jazz music was a plus. Food was really good, especially for the portions of it. At the end we couldn't even get desserts since everyone was stuffed but happy. Best dish of night would be the Black Truffle Risotto. We would definitely come back just to get this dish alone. It could have been a 5 stars experience if one of our servers didn't seem to rush things to clear up the tables. Got asked a couple of times if dish was done tho the person who ordered that was in the restroom.. and was asked to pass the utensils to her in not a very nice tone.. Our main server however was very nice and helpful.

You wouldn't even think there's a place like this in Kailua. There were a few steps to the door of the restaurant but as we exit the waitress let my mom through the back which had no stairs but a ramp leading to the side parking along the restaurant right side, since she was using a walker. I first came with my friend for dinner and I came with my mom for brunch after her dentist appointment, because I wanted to show her what became of the beloved Four Star Chop Suey decades ago. Brunch menu was not the usual breakfast items that we were used to, but I ordered what I thought she would like best. We had Breakfast Hash with potatoes, sausage, cheese, eggs, bell peppers but the sauce was a little spicy for mom. There were ingredients in the sauce which maybe was too much for mom. Citrus mint fruit salad, and Southern Chicken Biscuit and Gravy. The gravy was different.fitness good but, I preferred the dinner selection when I came with a friend who traveled all the way from Kapolei for some shared dishes and appetizers. She really liked it and it was flavorful and unique. We had the following dishes: Local Braised Oxtail Patatas Bravas Seared Poke nachos Seasonal Hummus Deconstructed Baklava Cheesecake Hiusemade breads Citrus mint fruit salad I would order everything again! The Oxtail was flavorful and delicious, The homemade breads were so warm and fresh. The breads were served with the seasonal hummus, and I love the citrus mint dressing on the fruits! So refreshing! Night time was busy and we didn't have reservations, so we were lucky we didn't have those high top table and chairs . Best to have reservations for dinner. Weekends have night entertainment in the bigger dining area. We came earlier, but as the night went on, it got busier and our waitress was also assisting other customers in the other room, so we were missed . Service could have been better. Not too many of my townie friends had made it to this side but it's a nice place to dine at to experience their food and beautiful ambiance! There were a few side parking stalls along the right wall of the restaurant, otherwise you would need to find street parking. There's a nearby 24 hour municipal parking lot and it's still a quarter of 20 minutes. This restaurant is not in the main Kailua town area. If you haven't been to Kailua, Kailua is a nice town to try all these different restaurants. You be surprised and pleased. They are closed on Monday & Tuesday. Brunch is on weekends from 9 am to 1 pm. Otherwise they open from Wednesday thru Sunday from 4pm to closing at 9pm and on Friday & Saturday nights they are opened til 11pm.

I also wanted to order the Bee's Knees (Pesto, pepperoni, mozzarella, goat cheese, spicy honey) but I am strict about bringing leftovers to our hotel or Airbnb. It usually goes to waste because we're always eating out. I ordered a hard seltzer, but it wasn't my kind of seltzer. My husband ordered one of their craft beers and enjoyed. It. We enjoyed our meal and headed out with full bellies. Thanks Lanikai Brewing!

Could tell it was a very popular spot and people kept coming in but luckily we made reservations. The menu was not very extensive but it had a good variety of beef ...chicken .. vegan and seafood . I ordered the Teriyaki Flap steak 6oz with rice/vegetables and my friend ordered a Teri burger not on the menu but the waitress said it could be done as only had a Teriyaki chicken burger . My Teriyaki flap steak was okay (little on the dry side) but was tasty. On the other hand ..my friend's Teri burger was not what she expected as the burger was grilled but Teri sauce on the side . So was not like a grilled Teri burger which was marinated in Teri sauce . ( server did not mention this) The server was very nice and offered us a birthday treat ... Vanilla ice cream in a brownie in honor of my birthday. It was very nice to sit and dine comfortably and chat without being rushed. I would like to return at dinner and try their regular steak dinners and the Artichoke surprise... with a night ambiance . Until the next time !!

But it is very much worth the wait! You get to look out on the beautiful outdoors of their nice little koi pond with the views of the mountains. Open air seating, right in front of the fresh air. Food is amazing. Make sure to order their prime rib. It's a bone in 3lbs steak (I could be wrong on the weight, but just know the sucker is HUGE!) Went here on my birthday and had some great laughs and cocktails with my friends. Make sure to get the paradise pie (mud pie) for dessert!

I also would say that the price for food is a little pricier for my liking for the taste. The food isn't exotic, but it did taste good and their bread and guava butter were my favorite part of my restaurant experience! If it wasn't for the service, I would've given the restaurant a 3/5. Despite the long line/wait, the staff was actually really interactive and proactive with the parties they were serving, which we really appreciated! I didn't feel like we were waited long to get our food, eat, and get our check at the end, which was so perfect. It was a great first time at Haleiwa Joe's, but I'm not sure if it'll be a repeat for me! If you're in and want an amazing view for dinner though, this is great!

There aren't enough good things I can say about this place…read more First of all, the ATMOSPHERE. Walking in feels like stepping into the warmest, most welcoming home. The floral arrangements, the décor, the attention to detail... everything makes you feel like you're visiting an old friend. I feel like Odysseus finally making it home to Penelope. And then... THE FOOD. Omg. Everything is delicious. I've been here a few times now and they have never disappointed. I absolutely love the roast pork, but honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Here's my completely unbiased (very biased) ranking: Petiscos - Kind of like a charcuterie board for bad bitches (i.e. me). 5/5 Sardines - 5/5. I use the sauce for everything. Cod Balls - 5/5. I would rub these on my face if I could. Bolo de Bolacha - Like tiramisu, but with experience. One of my favorites. Branzino - This fish is so soft and flavorful, and the salad it comes with is incredible. It takes a little longer to prepare, so order it first! Pistachio Rum Cake - Also one of my favorites. I genuinely can't choose. It's buttery, delightful, and just the right amount of sinful. Pastéis de Nata - A classic for a reason. The best custard tarts you'll ever have. I could eat one every morning with a cup of tea. Medeiros ʻOhana Celebration Cake - Chocolate. Cherry. Goodness. That's all I have to say. Arroz Doce - Think crème brûlée meets rice pudding. AMAZING. I've had it both warm and cold, and honestly, both are incredible. If you're looking for a dessert to take with you and eat in the car on the way home (because somehow you'll still have room), this is the one. Basically... just go. Bring friends, order way too much food, and thank me later. (I know i stopped rating the food when you go, you'll understand).

You are quickly greeted at the front, spotting a modern but warm bar top in the distance in front of you. Panning left as you walk in, you'll see that every table is uniquely situated with the feel of a Spanish/European home feel. You are immediately captivated by the ambiance, the soft chatter from guests, and aromas that peak through the kitchen. The food on the menu is selectively chosen, and having nearly ordered most of the dishes due to having a party of 8, they were all wonderful. You won't go wrong with any dish. Of the appetizers, the sausage, and the wings were to DIE FOR - Ordered 2-3 orders of each by the end of the night. Of the main dishes: Fresh Branzino, Piri Piri Chicken, Vina Dalhos, Alcatra.... It was all wonderful in flavor, presentation, and feel. They all shared one massive theme that was noticeable: Freshness, balance of acidity and spice, and play of fire. If I had to nit pick, the piri piri was a bit overcooked, as it came out not as moist. But the other dishes carried the restaurant into 5 star territory. Service was good - attentive and friendly. The desserts were out of this world. Just get them all. But if you can't, the crème brûlée rice pudding was one of the best I've had with beautiful texture, mouth feel, and balance in vanilla and brown sugar! Thank you for an unexpected dinner and for handling such a large party. They typically only have one space for a party this size.
