Crawfish etouffee was nothing close to an etouffee and fried crawfish tails were very bland. Drinks were made wrong and tasted dirty and after all this they automatically added 20% gratuity to the bill because it was over $100. Bill was $189 for 2 people and it was not good at all and service was slow. Nothing close to the Sam's boat I remember in Houston or Conroe. They did have some decent live music but we didn't stay long. Seated right away. The best part of our experience. Our server was Annie, she was amazing. I got the boiled crawfish and my wife the blacked red fish. I requested the spicy crawfish and it was mostly salty but some heat. I actually tasted my wife's red fish and wished I ordered that but being bug season was almost over, had to do bugs. They were a little on the small side. I also got a cup of gumbo, not bad and some raw oysters which were reasonably sized. I guess I got a little spoiled just being in New Orleans a couple weeks back. Great food and service but abysmal business practices. We love the food here but they do some really strange things here that are more than a little shady. Every pound of crawfish comes with 1 piece of corn - except thar corn is a half cob that's been cut in 3 - and 1 single new potato. If your margin is so thin that you can't even provide a half cob of corn with a pound of crawfish, perhaps you should just charge more. On top of that, the menu talks about gratuity for parties of 6 or more, but they charge gratuity for totals over $100. Our server was very good, thankfully, but gratting a table of 4 is unheard of. Couldn't be more satisfied with our first visit. We were in the area and looking for a place that is pet friendly. The Boat ATX popped up and so we decided to give it a shot. It was a little too chilly for the deck but we're happily invited to dine in with our pup. The waitstaff was friendly and prompt. Was unsure what to order so tried a few different things including the calamari, gumbo, ettoufee, fried catfish, shrimp Alfredo, crawfish, and snow crab legs. EVERYTHING was amazing. The seafood was fresh and the crab legs were big, juicy, and succulent. Had a few good laughs with the staff and even a few other customers. Clean restaurant with laid back vibes. The last time I went to a bar with so many costly rip-off policies to make money I was an 19 year old Marine overseas. You are familiar with a surcharge for parties over six? Well the boat has a surcharge if you SPEND over $100 bucks! What - you get a penalty for spending!? With beers at 9 bucks each! So can't set there with even 3 friends for dinner without getting ripped off. So I tried take-out: 1-st time they said TOAST lost the order; many restaurants use TOAST and I haven't had a problem anywhere else. It took 2 hours after I arrived to get the incorrect order! 2nd time - incorrect order and what we did get was too salty to eat. Too bad - when you can get it the food is good but when you cant sit and eat without a surcharge and you cant trust "to go" - well we give the boot to "das boot". I came here the other day with a friend from Lafayette. The oysters were so fresh we ordered a second round! The crawfish and shrimp weren't too spicy but just enough to give it some flavoring! My choice was green beans and broccoli, we returned the next day, and was told that the choice of sides were hush puppies and coleslaw, I said I was here yesterday, and clearly the menu says choice of two sides, the waiter said his manager informed him the menu had changed, then print a new menu. Manager came over and let me have a choice. Unbelievable, went yesterday and same, we were back to coleslaw and hush puppies, no menu change. Will not be back. Print a menu with what comes with what your actually giving, take the words choice of two sides, and replace with the words hush puppies and coleslaw. We stopped by this weekend to have dinner. Food was pretty good, we also got our food pretty fast. It was a little expensive though. Our meal came out to around $90 when at other crawfish places it's a little less. Our server was great but I don't think she was happy that I tipped her $10. It was just my husband, toddler and I that she served. When she charged me I saw pre populated tip amounts to choose from on the machine. I am sorry but $18 for about 40 minutes of service is way too much. Especially when she had other tables that she attended to. We said thank you very much after I tipped her the $10 and she didn't even say anything back. She just turned around like if she was angry.
