Just not very good. Atmosphere is cool, hostess staff aren't particularly welcoming but whatever, I can get past that. They've done a great job renovating considering what they had. But sadly the food really sucked. Scallops, overcooked, grouper overcooked, kids burner no cheese came covered in cheese, fries weren't cooked (literally white), completely over priced and the $10 glass of wine was served in a clear plastic grocery store cup! First thing, the service was terrible. We ordered a dozen oysters. It took 30 minutes for them to come out. They were extremely small, warm and not cut away from their shells. Disappointing. We ordered 1 order of fried shrimp. This took 45 minutes to come out. The restaurant was not so crowded for the kitchen to be that overwhelmed. While good sized, the shrimp and French fries were mildly warm, not hot and over breaded. We sat on the patio. The flies were overwhelming, swarming while trying to eat. The only saving grace to this whole experience is it was a beautiful night, the band that was on the patio was amazing, as well as the chocolate cake. Do not recommend this restaurant. read more

I wanted to like this place, had pretty good reviews on line but my experience matched that of friends that have been here--too many good options in town to eat here. Visiting friends in St. Augustine and they brought us to this restaurant and they gave all you can eat shrimp on Tuesdays, fried, blackened and grilled definitely recommend the blackened shrimp so tasty! This was my very disappointing brunch experience. - Small serving size for mimosas and plastic cups for refills. -No air conditioning and no fans on the inside. I heard the waitress telling the table next to us that the inside fans needed to be replaced and then she tried to open the window for them. We are in Florida, indoor eating needs ac. -Extremely short staffed, long wait while empty tables inside and all this contributing to not the best service. - The frozen drink machine was broken. - - - - - EXTRA SMALL overpriced drinks. $15!! -Entree that was ordered was supposed to come with a biscuit, didn't get the biscuit until the plate was almost done. Me and a few friends came here for dinner on our last day of vacation. We heard from locals that the restaurant was good, so why not try it? It was packed, and a little cold along with noisy, but it petered out towards the end. We got seated at 7:15, but we didn't receive our entrees until 8:05. We figured we give them a little bit of grace and chalk it up to it being busy. Entrees were good (Trigger fish, lobster ravioli, and scallop gnocchi) , if not a bit heavy. We ordered dessert as soon as we got our entrees, to hopefully speed up service and be out at a reasonable time. 8:55 was when our desserts came out. The manager (a guess?) ran them out apologizing for the wait, but didn't offer any type of compensation or apology. Personally would not return again in St Augustine. read more

My wife and I had a friend visiting from Tampa and we wanted to go somewhere after being at the beach for a couple hours. Some friends from the beach came so we ended up with a party of 5. We started with the hush puppies. They came on a plate on top of a pool of jam. The jam was pretty good; not too sweet. It had strawberries and blueberries for sure. There might have been some other fruits in there too. Shortly after the hush puppies were gone, it started to rain. We waited it out for 10 min and then it started raining harder. The radar said it was supposed to clear up any second but the rain just got harder. Haha we ended up moving inside. As soon as we sat down they brought us our entrees. I think the kitchen's weather app was a little better than ours and they knew we were going to want to go inside. I got the lobster roll with sweet potato fries. I think the food was sitting under the heat lamp while we were getting rained on so the roll was a little dried out. I drenched the lobster in drawn butter and it made everything better. The sweet potato fries came with a marshmallow dipping sauce. It was kind of like the roll came with a dessert on the side. I don't think I'd get the lobster roll again. It wasn't bad but I'm sure there are better things on the menu. My wife got the shrimp and grits. She never finishes her food so I got to try it. It has a mild spice and the shrimp we the little guys like 18/20s. I thought it was pretty good. The others at the table ordered fried green tomatoes, grilled flounder and grilled trigger fish. Everything looked good and I didn't hear any complaints. We'll definitely be back. read more

Wonderful place! We came here for the first time this week and it was great! There is a great outdoor seating area right on the water, built in between trees with pretty string lights. We ordered the jalapeño bacon oysters which my husband loved! We also ordered the fried green tomatoes. These were good, but could've honestly used some more balsamic glaze on them. We got the peel and eat shrimp which were very good, as well as the mixed seafood plate. It has a good mix of soft shell crab, fried shrimp, etc. We also got the hush puppies with their homemade jam and they were delicious! The service was very good as well! Made the mistake of going on a Monday night. Half the table said their fish was cold. The grits were cold. My scallops and the fried grouper were grossly over cooked. The calamari was way too salty and I love salt. Like rly love salt. Server asked us if we wanted dessert while half the table was still eating dinner. Then brought to go boxes while we were still eating. Clearly trying to kick us out and it wasn't even 8:30pm yet. 6 people: 2 apps, entrees, 3 cocktails bill was $350. Not close to worth it. Very good place to have awesome seafood and hangout with friends. They recently opened for service and they are starting to catch~up with the demand. Try to call the them and make reservations. Coming from a Caribbean island, I wanted to try the deep- fried Snapper and have to say, they hit the mark of excellence! It was crunchy, but not dry. My husband and I have not been to this place in a bit. The service was good but the food was definitely 'meh.' At some point, a tall blonde lady came to visit our table. I did not catch her name but she was one of the managers and certainly lacked any warmth or concern--it was as if she was there to do a job and she really couldn't have seemed any less interested if she tried--honestly, no enthusiasm or small town friendliness whatsoever. I would imagine their food is a bit 'meh' because of the her not instilling any passion in this place. Too bad, used to be good when it was Creekside. This must be some sort of chain now. The place is lovely with a nice interior and a fabulous patio area. The beet salad with salmon was wonderful but the fish chowder had no fish. The BIG problem was our server, John. He took our lunch order and then disappeared. I saw him outside speaking to a woman,(a customer, I think), and he spent the next 15-20 minutes there. We asked the hostess where our food was and she went to look for John. As he was FINALLY coming back inside, she went to him and he came to say my salmon would take another few minutes. I think he forgot to put the order in. The place was busy inside but empty on the patio so John wasn't exactly overworked. It seriously affected our enjoyment of the place. read more

They renamed the place BoatHouse, and the rebranding did an amazing job with the place. It is the same owners but they took their other location on ponte vidra and reimagined the old restaurant. The service was fast and quick, our server Alex was checking in often to make refills. The food was delicious and unique. Recommend the place to anyone in the area! read more
