Beautiful quiet location on the Tolomoto River. We sat outside under the shady oaks. We got the grilled seafood platter (Shrimp, scallops, mahi and a crab cake) which was perfect to share. Great seafood! I got the Vilano Tea -- Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, Barrow Intense Ginger Liqueur, Cranberry Juice & fresh squeezed lemon. It was on the sweet side for me but still good. Very gingery. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing lunch on the water.

My husband suggested this place for lunch and I am glad he did because it is located on the water in Vilano Beach and the food was pretty good too. We sat outside along the water at a picnic table and had a big umbrella to shield us from the sun. The menu offers plenty of appetizers, salads, fried seafood baskets, sandwiches and entrees. I had the fried flounder club sandwich. It came on Texas toast with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and onion. One side is also included so I chose sweet potato fries. Everything tasted good and the portion size was nice. My husband had the fried oysters basket with fries and a hush puppy. We also received the complimentary bread basket. The pumpkin bread was my favorite. Service was quick and friendly.

This was my first time at Aunt Kate's, but it won't be the last! This is a great place to grab a seafood basket (oyster, shrimp, other types of fish, etc.), sit outside to enjoy a beautiful day, and grab a cold beverage. On this visit, I had an oyster basket with fries and an iced tea along with great service from Ashley and a beautiful waterfront view. Wanting to be closest to the water, I grabbed a shaded picnic table by the water line, they also have a spacious patio area and plenty of indoor seating. Pricing for lunch averaged $30 per person including the drinks, tip and tax. An overall wonderful experience, and I look forward to returning soon.

Views were wonderful for sunset and a great place to watch for dolphins. I got the blackened mahi sandwich and it was so salty it was almost impossible to eat. I think I'd need to get it grilled next time. The fried shrimp basket was pretty good and I really enjoyed the potato wedges that come as the French fries.

Server was polite and friendly. They do not have WIFI, so you need to talk to your people. Food came quickly and prices were reasonable. I ordered the Cobb Salad w/grilled shrimp. Healthy portion. The blue cheese dressing was delicious. They give you a mixed bread basket with Datil Cornbread, Johnny cake, and pumpkin bread. Very unique. Would definitely come back.

Our server was Stephanie, and she was fantastic. Great personality and on point. Place was very clean and everyone was friendly. My burger was great, and everyone else enjoyed their food as well. Large place with plenty of parking. Beautiful views of the water. Highly recommend! Ask for Stephanie!!

Aunt Kate's offers a super casual vibe, but what it lacks in fancy decor, it more than makes up for with great food and a fantastic location right on the water. The inside is simple, but the back deck has a really nice setup with a great view and live music to set the mood. The white she crab soup/chowder was definitely the highlight of the meal. It was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, it was hands down the star of the show. The coconut shrimp with the sweet orange/piña colada dipping sauce was also a big hit, and a real treat! We also shared the crab cakes (which were tasty), the Ahi tuna nachos (not my favorite, I would not get again), and the Mahi sandwich, which was fresh and satisfying. Overall, the food was great, the atmosphere was chill, and it's the perfect spot if you're looking for a casual, waterfront dining experience. If we were in town again, we'd return!

Food was great, we really liked everything we had. We had the crab boil, the seafood platter (one broiled one fried), gator bites, cheese grits, fried mushrooms, and some pitchers of beer. Quesadilla for a kiddo. We ate with 8 people and a toddler in the outside portion by the river... was really nice and sunny out and had some shade where we sat. Had a friendly squirrel come and say hello to us that was quite cute. Would recommend for a low key seafood place to hang out for a bit

We ordered the muscles appetizer which were very good, but could use some fresh herbs instead of what seemed to be dried seasonings. there were almost 1/2 dozen that were served to us that were unopened and inedible. We also ordered the blackened scallops with a rice and beans side and grilled mahi with a side of pickled beets. The scallops were cooked very nicely, but could've benefited from more blackening seasoning. The rice and beans were good, but benefited from the house made hot sauce. The mahi was cooked a bit over, making it a bit tough and dry. The beets were delicious and a generous portion was served. Service was terrific and Samantha was friendly and attentive. We purchased a bottle of the amazing housemade hot sauce to bring home.

We ate staying at North Beach campground so we decided to walk from our site to this restaurant. We have been here before and enjoyed the food. We ordered fried green tomatoes for any appetizer and along with our drinks a carphania and a margarita. Both great. They also brought out a bread basket with sweet cornbread spice bread and other breads. Our meals came out , hunny ordered the dish tacos with collards and hush puppies. I ordered the special which was dill chicken salad on Texas toast with fries. Everything was wonderful and since we have been here before very consistent we are very pleased. We highly recommend and will definitely be back again.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

When I arrived with my pregnant wife and my service dog, he asked somewhat curtly if it was a service dog. After I confirmed and thanked him, he rudely placed the menu on the table, turned around without saying another word or showing any basic courtesy, and just walked away with his back to us. It was a pretty cold and uncomfortable welcome. That said, the restaurant is absolutely charming. I really loved the interior ambiance--it's cozy, well-decorated, and has a very pleasant vibe. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered the Half Pound Ice Plant Burger and it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the quality in every single bite--the meat was perfect, the ingredients fresh, and everything very well balanced. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. Despite the initial host experience, I would return without hesitation for the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended, but they could improve the initial greeting.

What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through.
