I've been here before and it was pretty good. However went back a couple days ago and was quite disappointed. The shrimp was mushy and when peeling it, the flesh kind of fell apart: a clear sign that the shrimp has been sitting around for too long. I get it, it's coronavirus and the restaurant and the seafood isn't getting as much turnover. Nonetheless, management needs to keep an eye on quality and freshness. read more

Extremely disappointed in this location. When I heard plano would have a boiling crab I was excited that it would be close to me. I order Togo. I got a lb of king crab and a lb of shrimp. The shrimp were the worst I've ever had. They were dirty and over cooked. If I'm going to pay $70 I would have love for my food to taste fresh. I've been to the location in Dallas and never had an issue. Now I know not to go to the Plano location. Shoot I would of saved money if I would of just went down the street to the boiling pot or fish n tails. read more

Finally, a long awaited second location. No more having to wait 2 hours for a table. Compared to the Dallas location, this location is 3x the size and seating is much quicker. We were able to get a table for 10 immediately as soon as we walked through the doors. What's a 2 hour wait? Whenever my in-laws come in to town I always bring them to The Boiling Crab. They can't complain about how we raise our children when they have crab in their mouths. Food is 10/10. Hella dank as always. Their King crab is just like I like my women. EXXTRAA THICC. This place was amazing!!! The snow crabs were large . Shrimp did come with the head on which I did not know beforehand but I was with someone who quickly removed them for me. It was a disappointing take out. The food had no flavor and other than paprika and it is not like it used to be. I have been going different locations of The Boiling Crab for almost 10 years now and yesterday was such a major disappointment. We didn't like the food and the shrimp wasn't fresh. I was so excited for my order at this new location of the Boiling Crab since it's closer to my place. The place hasn't opened for dine in yet due to the pandemic, so I really don't know what it looks like inside. The staff is very friendly and the order doesn't take long to be ready. The food was good. I ordered 1 lb of snow crab extra spicy w garlic and Cajun seasoning. 22 bucks. Truth be told it could have been a lot more spicy. But it was still good. A small corn, maybe a little bigger than small but not grocery store size runs you 1.75. And new pots and I think it was another 2.5 and u get 3. All additions. The margarita was not good and comes in a. Plastic cup. All mix and is 11 bucks. Stick w the beer. But we had a good time and the service was really good. Won't commit to this place though. I was so excited to know that Boiling Crab is in Plano and wanted to visit since it's pretty popular. On my first visit, I was quite satisfied and had problems with the food or service But unlike other Cajun restaurants, they don't provide gloves. I wanted to introduce my brother from Florida and decided to visit a second time. The experience wasn't as expected, we waited for quite some time to be seated even though the restaurant had plenty of free tables. They check the temperature of some people and not others in our group, I don't understand the point of this at all. No one tended to our table for at least 20 minutes until we got up and ask for it. We brought some milk tea from outside and this became a whole ordeal back and forth about how we can't have drinks from outside and if we do it has to be poured into their paper cup. Why? I have no idea we thought it's was weird since there was no sign and it's was okay during our first visit but not this time. One server said it okay to set it aside and not drink it and another said we need to take it out to the car and we agree to do as the server said. Even after the food arrived they never gave us bibs or water even after asking several times from several servers. The servers were rude and I would rate less than a star if I can. Take advantage right now of the short wait time to be seated, because once everyone finds out this place is open, that'll be short lived. This seafood restaurant had decent food but..... no bucket for crab leg shells, no gloves, no wet wipes. Had to ask multiple times for refills and condiments. Food comes out as it's ready, so I was done eating before my wife got anything. Every question we ask got the response thats up to the discretion of the manager, who by the way never come to speak with us. I've been to the new location twice. The first time I went (opening week), the customer service was super prompt and attentive. There was something about the sauce that tasted different, but it was still good. Shrimps were a little hard to peel. Second time couple of weeks later - the food was perfect. Shrimps were fresh. Sauce was on point. Customer service was not as attentive as the first time around as it's now busier. Overall pretty much on the same level as the location in Dallas. read more

While this a spacious new location, this establishment is definitely going through the growing pains of a new location. Service was, quite frankly, a mess. It took several minutes to get seated because there was no hostess at the front. When we did get seated, it took another 10 minutes for a waitress to come take our order. We had several waiters stop by our table and ask if we ordered something that we hadn't. By the time my actual order came to the table, it was already cold. Aa far as quality of the food goes, I would say it was fine. I'm not the pickiest person when it comes to quality. However, I didn't feel like the price ($12) was worth the small plate of cold food that i got (sha bang bang shrimp.) So I'm looking for some blue crab this morning here in Texas (Plano). I found The Boiling crab online. Stop by and starting asking question about the preparation of said crab. Young men said "they boil them!" .. then he ask someone else after the puzzle look on my face. Young lady said we stream all our crabs ! Much better. Next question do you use old bay seasoning (didn't ask about the beer). No we do not! We are all out of blue crab and lobster today! So i moved onto oyster (raw)and shrimp (steam). Let's say I'm accustomed to headless shrimp and i can deal with peeling shell and tail. Not the head please!!! Oyster (July does not have an R in it) but I'm getting hungry now. We have been to boiling crab in Dallas and once in this location years ago. Today, we had the fresh crawfish ... I don't know if it was undercooked or we got a bad batch but my husband and I both got food poisoning. He is spending his birthday throwing up in the hotel room ... I spoke to the manager for some type of refund on a meal they ruined our rare staycation ... all I got in response is that he will start a report on this... wait for other customers to call in... and get back to me in a few days. I have no idea what that entails... but we really need a refund on our meal. read more
