I was in Sac for a conference and I have always loved Boiling crab. I ordered to go and with a damaged of 160... my food did not taste great. This is the first time I did not like my food. The crab was essentially a whole crab, did not break down, no cracks, essentially a crab with no taste. The shrimp and mussels was ok. Sauce was dried, but its kinda sad where yall need to charge for extra sauce? For a whole whopping $5, one gets a small container of "extra saucy" . It was just disappointing where everything is a extra charge. I don't ever recall this- must be new. The shrimp was slimy and falling apart. We also did not know about asking it to be "extra juicy" and it seemed dry. This boiling crab always gives me a good experience. I been here several times, the street parking here is rough so find a parking lot and walk to it. The seafood is alway good. Crawfish are always market price. The whole Shabang seasoning is the best with any shellfish. The catfish basket and the bang bang shrimps are always a good option too. Get a cold beer with it, and you can't go wrong. The servers are Always friendly and efficient. Food comes out quick too. The whole sha-bang with medium heat. Every seafood option they have has to be a lb. No halfs. The only thing they can do half are the shrimp I believe. Ordering is easy, straightforward. It's spacious, but it seems dated. There's also sitting outside. The inside is a little on the dark side. There was a wide sink right outside the entrance to the bathrooms to wash your hands in but one faucet was not working and it looked dingy and not really clean. I would have thought that since it's a restaurant that requires using hands to eat that they would clean the sink and faucets every hour for cleanliness' sake. When we finally sat down, we were greeted by a friendly server but took some time. It also took some time to get my drinks but once we ordered it didn't take long for our food to come out. Gotta admit the food was seasoned well. The kids ordered the seafood boil, I ordered fried food. The fried calamari was good, so was the shabang-bang shrimp that came with rice but it was so spicy, that's why it was called shabang-bang. The wings with lemon pepper seasoning were equally as good. But they still had a little kick to them even though I ordered not spicy. All in all, it was a good experience but might try their other branch next time we visit Sacramento. read more

I forget our main server's name but they had the cute nails. We got the tables right underneath the festive hanging shark. Waters, sodas, iced teas to start. 3 orders of the softshell crab, each with different fries (plain, lemon pepper, cajun seasoning), and a few orders of the fried calamari baskets as well. Not sure exactly the poundage, but each half of the table got mild sha-bang sauce (cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic butter combo) and two side orders of medium sauce. Shrimp (head-on, shell-on), clams, mussels, and snow crab. Side orders of white steamed rice, boiled eggs (1 dozen), sausage, corn, and potatoes. One neat trick I learned today was to add squeezed lime juice into the salt/pepper cup to make a sort of slurry to then dip your seafood in...genius! If you need a to-go container for any unfinished shrimp, rice, potatoes, and saucy garlic, they've gotchu. They do validate and we got $5 off the 2hr5m parking fee! read more

We went to this restaurant before seeing a movie. It was pretty crowded and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We were sitting at 22 minutes, so that was fine, but the booths were very tight! I'm not at my wedding weight, but we all felt large, rubbing our bellies against the immovable table. No other tables available, so we just sucked it up (literally). Anyway, food was mostly fried and it was good. We didn't want to go for a "hands on" meal before watching a movie, but that option looked good. We might be back, but it's not at the top of my list. Not only is it ridiculous to spend more than half of your time, taking off shrimp heads, and peeling them, and cleaning out the poop and the legs, but we ended up leaving early because my son was crying due to the noise.
